I believe you will also have to define the employees as ‘Maintenance Employees’ and connect them to resource groups that have the ‘Resource Category’ flag set to ‘Use in Maintenance’.
Hi Paola,As long as you have also defined a Consumption Point for your company in the Budget Control screen, I think that should be all you need.Depending on the Consumption Point defined, the user will get an error if the budget would be exceeded when carrying out the corresponding function. As an example, if your Consumption Point is set to ‘Create Pur Ord Line’, then the user would get an error if they try to convert a requisition to an order if this would make the cost exceed the budget.Hope this helps.Kind regards,Johan
Hi Lee,The warning symbol indicates that this is an exception line, i.e. you have cost/revenue in your snapshot that has not been included in the forecast.As you have noticed you cannot modify the exception line directly, but it is possible to duplicate the line and then update the duplicated line. Hi Udanee,PRJT8 is used in the customer company to keep track of the amounts payable to the employee company. Is it correctly understood that you would like to set this up to track payables separately per employee company?You will not be able to use the Report Code as a Control Type for this purpose (unless you set up a distinct set of Report Codes per employee company, but that cannot be recommended).Instead, a potential option to achieve this could be to use e.g. the Company Control Type to set a code part value accordingly.Hope this helps.Kind regards,Johan
Hi Ron,As a first step I would suggest highlighting one of the lines and using the ‘Project Connections’ RMB menu option. This will open the relevant project connections for that line.As you don’t see any progress on the activity level, the connection probably does not report any progress either, but from the Connections screen you can then drill down further to the ‘Object Details’ to ensure that the relevant source object does report cost back to the project code part (including a value for the Activity Sequence).One potential cause could be a missing activity on the cost posting, so that should give a hint on which specific posting types you may need to review.Hope this helps.Kind regards,Johan

If this data has been set up from scratch, a step might have been missed.I would check the Define Code String screen for your company to work out which code part you use as base for the Cost Elements: Then verify on the ‘Object Details’ postings (as per my previous reply) that the project cost postings indeed have values for this Code Part (if not you would have to review your posting control set-up).After that, verify that the values used for the code part have been correctly mapped (and with a Valid From date earlier than your voucher lines) in the Cost/Revenue Element per Code Part Value screen: Provided the postings have the correct info and the cost element set-up is corrected (in case something is not set up right), you should then be able to use the Refresh Project Connections function: Select your project and the ‘Objects’ option in the Refresh All section (leave the other boxes unticked). Hi Thushan,Please note that the intervals in the spread profile don’t correspond to accounting periods. Instead the date range of the forecast line is split into the number of intervals from your spread profile and then spread into these intervals based on the percentage set for each interval.Your screenshot shows spreading into eleven periods, which I suspect is why you see this effect. If you wish to split into ten periods, you could adjust the Start Date and End Date on the forecast line and re-spread it. However, note that as each month is for a different number of days, you still would not get an equal split for each month/accounting period.Hope this helps.Johan
Hi Martina,The cost element is derived from one of the values in the accounting code string. To see which specific code part you use for this purpose, please check in the Define Code String screen which code part that is set as ‘Base for Cost/Revenue Element’.Once you know which code part is used, you have to ensure that the relevant cost postings have a value for this code part. I suspect that in this specific case the Posting Type used is M26 (Cost of Sold Non-inventory Parts), so check that this posting type is posting to the code part used.The next step is to verify in the Cost/Revenue Element per Code Part Value screen that the specific code part is linked to a cost element. Once this has all been set up, you should get a cost element in the follow-up.As an example, if you use Account as the base, with M26 set to the standard account of 4023, if you ensure this account is linked to e.g. the cost element for Materials you should see this on your project.Regarding the second questio

Hi Ian,I cannot really advise on which setting would work best for you, but here is some background info that might be useful.The Snapshot Matching parameter impacts whether the ETC or the EAC will be recalculated when linking a snapshot.As a simple example, let's say you have a Forecast with an ETC of 100 hours and EAC of 100 hours.There are 40 actual hours reported, included in the snapshot. When linking this snapshot:* With Snapshot matching set to ETC Recalculated, you would end up with Committed/Used Hours of 40 (the reported value), which would give a recalculated ETC of 60 hours (EAC of 100 - the actual hours of 40) and EAC remaining at 100.* With Snapshot matching set to EAC Recalculated, you would end up with Committed/Used Hours of 40 (the reported value), which would keep the ETC of 100 hours and the EAC to be recalculated to 140 (actual hours of 40 + ETC of 100).A reason you might end up with a negative ETC value is if you have more actual reported hours than the EAC on the
Hi Ieva,The purpose of the Override Basis parameter is partly to handle this type of scenario. By switching this on for your Job Cost Type for Overtime and base this on the Job Cost Type for Base, it should replace the Base one in the Job Cost Details.One challenge in your example is that you wish to also have pension etc calculated on top of the base rate, which would not be there if you override it. To get around this, I think you should be able to create a ‘Basic_Rate’ or similar for the employee wage rate, then have both the Base (at 100%), the Overtime (at 150%) as well as pension etc be based on this value with an override. This means that if the employee works basic hours, the system would get the Basic_Rate, but then effectively replace it with the Base Job Cost Type, and if they instead work overtime, it would be replaced with the Overtime one.Just a slight caveat that it’s been a little while since I looked at Job Rate Management at this level of detail, so I may remember sli
Job Rate Management is a separate component that was released in Update 8 on IFS Applications 10, supporting more detailed job cost breakdown in both Asset Management and Projects. Hi Carrie,I had a quick look in our internal 22R2 environment and it does work as expected there, so perhaps there is something in the set-up that’s missing?For reference, to test this I created a misc demand line on an activity for a quantity of 2, processed to a PO, then received a quantity of 1. As expected this gives a cost progress of 50%, and an EV of 200 (which is half of the planned 400):As mentioned above, as a first step I’d double check that I get cost progress on the corresponding Project Connection and that the cost element can be derived correctly based on the postings.Kind regards,Johan

After further internal investigation we have found that there was a bug in the 22R2 version, where the Earned Value Cost and Progress would go missing on the activity in certain cases.A correction for this issue has been included in Service Update 6 for IFS Cloud 22R2 (it does not affect other versions).
Hi,Could you check in the Posting Control that you have Posting Type PRJT1 set up for the Project code part, using Control Type AC2 (Pre-posting)? It could be that you don’t have the project included in the cost posting string, which has the effect that you won’t see the cost on the project. Hi Ushani,Based on your screenshot this is likely due to posting both PRJT7 and PRJT8 to the project code part. Normally you would only post PRJT7 (i.e. the cost) using the project code part. By also posting PRJT8 (the accounts payable amount to the employee company) using the project code part to an account in the same account group, this means that these two postings cancel each other out with regards to posting cost to the project.As an aside, in the screenshot these posting types are both posted to accounts in the internal group. As the MCPR cost/liability refers to external cost, these would normally be posted to a cost and liability account respectively (e.g. 6990 and 2860). Kind regards,Johan
Hi Ushani,According to the screenshot posting type PRJT8 is still set up for Code Part F with AC2. Assuming this is your project code part(?) you would need to remove it. Once this has been done run the function on the customer company transaction to update postings, then review the postings to check that only the debit posting (PRJT7) is posted to the project.Does this help?Kind regards,Johan

Hi,Depending on the exact requirement you could perhaps achieve this by setting up the JOBRECON property in the Company Details to the ‘DAILY’ setting. This will will have the effect that the project hours reported for a day has to tally with the schedule for that day before the day can be confirmed by the employee.Note that this does not prevent the employee from reporting more hours, but as it will prevent them from confirming the day without adjusting the hours according to the schedule this should perhaps be sufficient.Also note that this would be dependent on there being no overtime/flex etc wage codes set up that the user could use, i.e. if you have a schedule of 8 hours, the employee would be able to report (and confirm) 10 hours project time if they also enter 2 hours of overtime.Hope this helps.Kind regards,Johan
