@Mathias Dahl Not trying to be cheeky, but it is just two clicks.We simply export the file as pdf as part of a release process (manual). No “customization/configuration/modification/integration thing” is involved, you’re right IFS is limited in its ability to manage this in a more sophisticated manner, but it isn’t required. We’re not talking thousands of documents, we’re talking 100-200 that don’t change rapidly.

IFS Notifications Concept/Design

As much as I prefer the notification in IFS only and have the user manage their tasks/notifications from there….that doesn’t seem to be how most users want to interact or respond to the notification.In our case, the most effective has been for the really important or urgent requirements, use an email notification. For the less time dependent tasks, keep them inside of IFS.For both, use lobbies to summarize the work that needs to be done, even if not directly related to the notification (ie, the lobby element shows open authorizations, not the list of notifications for the authorizations).

We keep the word/editable version of the document in document management, but then serve a copy of the document in pdf form to an internal sharepoint page. We have 1800 employees, but less than 1000 of them are IFS users, nearly all are subject to the quality requirements. This combines the best of both worlds having a revision controlled document with limited access in IFS and which will allow a published version as well as a future version under edit.There are several ways to do it as mentioned, I’m not sure one is better than the other, just needs adapted to your situation.

@Benny Jensen Shawn : Please explain what you mean by this, - do I understand you correctly, that you expect the reply will be that deletion of an obsolete location is not an option in IFS? Yes, most certainly. Depending on the type of transaction, nearly every object in IFS will at some point become locked due to the transaction or history such that it can never be deleted. There are certain items to be sure that can be deleted only once every other connection is removed, but the general rule is that once an object (part, order, user, project, invoice, location, site, etc) is used in a transaction, that item can’t be deleted. Some items can be hidden or inactivated or otherwise blocked so they can’t be seen or used in future transactions, but that is as good as it gets.

What is pegging?

It is at its very basic form a method of connecting some sort of supply to a particular demand. Once connected, that supply is reserved for use with that particular demand. There is a lot more to it depending on which type of supply is connected to which type of demand. If you search on the community, there are a few explanations and questions already on here.

Purchase Requisitions / Shop order Requisitions in the past - clean up?

You can’t really push the requisitions into the future unless you have additional demand over the current order level that isn’t needed in the past (ie, safety stock or stock driven future demand). The only real way to overcome this skewed reality is at the point of conversion to purchase order by setting the Planned Receipt Date to a realistic delivery based on today + leadtime + delivery, etc. Doing so at PO Creation and later at Confirmation is really the only way I’ve found to provide sales and manufacturing with realistic Arrivals that can be planned against. The MRP requisitions are always going to be aligned to their demand which if your orders are behind will always be unrealistic or in the past.

existing PO promised date Our problem with trying this was the Buyers - they weren’t diligent about updating the Promise date.If you are tight with monitoring, confirming, and maintaining the PO dates, then this algorithm might work as intended.It is worth trying it out if you think your Procurement department maintains the POs well.

Supply chain order analysis table

It does behave the same in Cloud and for the same reasons mentioned in other threads and as you’ve seen the behavior. It is a dynamic table that is generated per user based on their origination point into the tree. To do so as a static table across multiple companies and sites for hundreds of thousands of orders and possibly millions of order lines (it would have to contain all order history as well even if the order is closed) would require a massive amount of server resources to run and maintain.

Employee Transfer from one company to another

There is no easy way to do it, one by one is the only way built into IFS.The only problem is the data entry and getting each employee setup as you want, if you’ve done them in one company then moving to the other is really just reentering. Like I said, you can shortcut some of the entries using the Employees overview screen, but in my experience you still have to open every one in the Employee form to make the final updates and some of the extended list items that are only visible on the form.My suggestion is to do 10-20 a day and make progress as best you can. It would take weeks or months to hire or find a developer to create the script unless someone reads this and volunteers for you.

Employee Transfer from one company to another

That shouldn’t be an issue, they will be blocked from doing transactions in Company A but will be allowed to do transactions in Company B. If you are inactivating them as employees in Company A for new transactions, will Company A still be accessible for other items (customer orders, purchase orders, inventory, etc)? I’m not clear on the scenario, are you changing to a new company and blocking the previous one or adding a new one that will operated simultaneously? Curious really, we have 5 different companies setup, but only certain employees are setup in multiple companies to do transactions, most are isolated to the company that is setup in the country where they reside and they are employed.

The best way to trace this out is to compare both employees now that you have found a difference.Do both employees also have the exact same permissions? - I believe you’ve checked this or think it is the case but it is still worth doing a comparison of the two in this areaDo both employees have the same company and site access?Do both employees also have the same access to the available projects where inventory could be transferred? There has to be some explainable difference between the two employees.

Unless you have a script written to do this, there is no way to do this other than to create the record for each employee one by one. You can do some of it on the overview screen but I find that you still have to open each instance of the employee record for that company to fill in the fields that aren’t visible on the overview screen.There is no workaround, shortcut or built-in module to do this that I’m aware of.I think it is because the IFS model considers that most employees cannot perform work for two different companies so the one they are setup in initially is the only one they need.

Event action "Execute Online SQL" in IFS Cloud

They won’t remove the functionality from Apps 10 because it is already there.They never developed an equivalent for Cloud and didn’t understand how customers might use the software and relied on BPA to be the solution.IFS hasn’t provided any solution to this issue, so there is no path to make moving to Cloud easy - thus the reason after more than three years since project kickoff - we still aren’t live on Cloud.

@jenmartin What you’ve found is probably as good as it gets for Cloud documentation. There is lots of high level information, but the really deep and thorough stuff you need to make decisions and correlations just doesn’t exist. It is a long struggle to teach yourself and requires lots of digging and experimenting.

IFS Freight Interface - IFS Cloud

@BPelz We are just picking up the whole project again after parking it last year. Not the freight integration, I mean all of Cloud was parked. Pacejet did a good job of getting the connections made so that PaceJet and IFS communicated, so take the opportunity for the initial setup with their project team from there. However, after it is communicating, the actual steps within IFS for the shipment process are going to be up to you to sort out. The IFS assistance and documentation is one of park it at the door and let someone else pick it up. There really isn’t anything that details it from both sides and how to make it all work well.If anyone has a better experience, hopefully they will share here.

They are separated into 4 sections depending on the regulatory requirements you might want to track for a supplier. IFS 9 to Cloud Upgrade anyone?

@BLLBrucemo Can I ask Shawn what your biggest pain points are? I was hoping that the later releases would have eased some of the bug issues.Are you getting reasonable support now from IFS? Sorry to make you wait for a reply, but I have to be a bit more reserved about my criticisms on here as it ruffles too many feathers….I’ll try to keep it general. Pain Points:Anything CRM, the loss of the query builder all the way back from V8 (which is where we’re coming from on the CRM side) is such a huge loss, it hasn’t been overcome Migration - have dedicated a programmer to sorting this out for over a year, getting close Everything else that @JoDe said times 10 plus everything I’ve mentioned in numerous other posts on here. Nothing has changed significantly really.The project was put on hold for 2023 essentially and is only now being revisited, that should tell you in a nutshell how the interaction has been from a product maturity and support standpoint. Be prepared to do it all on your own or

Availability control ID is missing after location move

If there is no stock in the To Location and the Availability Control has not been previously set, the Availability Control could actually be NULL. If you are not trying to switch the Availability Control ID from the originating location, use the Same as From Location selection on the transfer and that should retain the Availability Control (at least based on the image shown).
