Aggregate Shop Order Costs per Shop Order

Yes, that is correct, no GL impact.As you say, it is a necessary step to accumulate the costs across shop orders for each part so that you can use the Shop Orders Costs overview using all available shop orders. If you haven’t run the job, you will be missing information from this view.

Delete or Expire A Sales Charge Type

The best you can do through the UI is change the description of the charge to indicate that it is Obsolete (OBS) or do not use (DNU) as a prefix, or make it zDNU so it falls to the bottom of the list. Programmatically, you can create an event that will block the usage of the obsoleted items by stopping the save of the charge to new lines. There isn’t an IFS managed method like a check box or date to drop them out of the list however.

‘Period 2022 -XX is not open for user group XX in Company XXXX’ not shown in ‘Distribution and Manufacturing Postings Analysis’

In my experience, the most common cause of this error is when someone re-opens a previously closed shop order and attempts to make changes to it. It can and will create transactions that are dated in the past whether they added material to it or changed hours or whatever. Then the next time you try to do the transfer job for month end or even just on a daily basis, you will see this error.We had a group of engineers that were dumping parts onto old shop orders rather than creating new warranty orders as a short cut. Tracing the the error through the analysis screen will lead you to the user who is doing the work….

What is best for label printing with IFS, intermec or zebra?

I don’t have experience with Intermec and haven’t compared it to Zebra.We use Zebra printers for all our label needs connected to IFS at all facilities and have no problems with them that I can recall.

There is a duplication somewhere that is causing the conflict. Look on Part Costs for another site and make sure that the part doesn’t already exist somewhere.

Supersede Inventory Part error

Did you look under Supply and Demand Controls section? It is a component of the Part Status setting for the part, the settings for each entry in the Part Status field have attributes, one of which is Supplies Allowed/Not Allowed.It seems that there is a function to check that the replaced part has its status changed before you can enable the new part.

Transport Task // History Log

That is the way the history log works across any module or any object, it can’t be changed. The only thing you can really do is extract the history log information using the full admin rights and post it somewhere that is accessible for the other users. There isn’t a work around to this inside IFS that I know of.

Would It Be possible to Load (Populate) Data on an Assistant (i.e. Wizard)?

No, not from that screen or similar screens, but there are tools to load data in different ways.There is an Excel migration tool that allows loading according to a prescribed format.Migration jobs can also be used, they are more flexible and powerful, but also require more understanding and setup to use correctly.

wrong cost template for part type

Cost Set 2 is the one typically associate with cost template P-110.Cost Set 3 is more likely set to P-130.The job is only going to pick up where cost has been entered against the estimated cost of Cost Set 3.Are you using Cost Set 2 for anything?

No, that isn’t an available status. You have to evaluate the orders by the line status to determine what you are trying to resolve.

OK, so lets say you have a 1100 users that is not a solution to manage that many users even if you can reduce the number of profiles to 20 or so. It is not like making a selection in IEE.

There are no profiles in IFS Cloud, you can’t save those sort of settings and apply it to multiple users. You could in IEE, but not Aurena.

There is no Aurena Solution Manager for APPs 10 and it won’t be added.The only configuration that can be done in APPs 10 for many things under the Solution Manager is to do them in IEE.

Add reject reason for PO (Cloud)

There is a basic data table to populate the reasons for that field. Many list of value fields on the various pages can be extended by updating a list which is a separate page view. The basic data pages tend to be locked down to the normal user and only accessible by an Admin or IT person.Have one of your Admins check with full access and then the basic data tables can be seen. You’ll have to establish the permissions for the IT folks you want to be able update and maintain these tables.Within the Authorization process setup, there will be a tab to setup the Reject Reasons.

Yes, and it is a known behavior in Aurena, one which they didn’t even seem to realize was different to IEE. In fact, they didn’t really understand why a business would want to build a process around a closed object.One of our use cases is export shipments that need to be tracked from the point of shipment in the US/UK, through to customs in China, then triggering the service installation call to coincide with the system arrival at the customer. The installation status is tracked (as an update from the service side) and then back to AR to make sure that all of the final acceptance and final payment is completed. All of this was done on a custom tab in IEE. In Aurena, if the custom tab is tied to a customer order page, then the tab can’t be updated at all after the order is closed. It is a real problem. I’ve checked the idea wall and don’t see anything there, I probably should have added this a while ago, but had no expecation that IFS cared or was going to pursue fixing it. We as

Yeah, that seems to be a new problem with IFS Cloud.In IEE versions, custom fields could be updated even when the object was closed/invoiced, but now, updating any custom field connected to the configuration doesn’t seem possible.It has caused us to have to rethink process flows that worked prior to Aurena because updates to these custom fields were needed AFTER orders were delivered/invoiced. Solution not found yet.

How to delete the default unit of measures

You can’t remove the system defined units of measure. Just the ones you’ve created and only then if they aren’t used by any part. Curious, why would you want to delete them rather than training the users how to setup parts correctly? Better yet, restrict those who can setup parts to be only the ones who are trained and competent. Making changing to system defined parameters is only a recipe for problems in the long run. You never know what IFS is going to update or change in the future and removing defined information from the base layer can break an update later on and you won’t know why the update won’t load correctly. I definitely recommend avoid fighting against these sorts of things and find ways to manage them in other ways.

Azure User Provisioning - Does a Person record have to be created?

I think you’ll find that Person is connected everywhere and is the basis for other people objects. Persons can be Users, Employees, Contacts, Representatives, but I believe that these four categories all depend on the Person for certain attributes that are more Global to be carried along.

Set FALSE if the value IS NULL.

You have to check the box to True, then again to False to get it to show false.Many binary check boxes behave like this, the default value is NULL and there is no way to set them directly to FALSE after creation, they must first be registered as TRUE, then FALSE, then they will show as you intend.

That sounds like a custom RMB that was added, I don’t think it is out of the box.Look for custom menu if you have the access to it and the menu will be associated with the customer order lines.

IFSAPP10 upgrades - overview of ordinary fixes and functional improvements

Yes, you will find that the excel report of the fixes and enhancements is very cryptic and pretty unhelpful to learn what features you could concentrate on implementing. We’ve spent time on upgrades going through every change and trying to classify it as something we should evaluate or check as part of a testing plan, but in the end, we scrapped the whole idea because the detail doesn’t provide any insight.I don’t think the spreadsheet even helps with finding a particular issue as part of a bug fix scenario, it just isn’t structured for even a search with the conditions of the problem.

Default Delivery Address for Customer

Under the customer details, make sure one of the addresses that is entered is ticked as both a Delivery type (separate field) and that one of the Delivery type addresses is ticked as the default. It is really two possible switches or states, not just that an address is in place. It should be the customer setup that is at issue.
