PM Execution Time

Hi @ctaylor56, The “Execution Time” is a standalone, user defined field in the application which is used only to specify the number of hours that you expect the work to take. Thus, this will not be auto updated based on work lists/ task duration. You have to enter it manually. But when it comes to “Execution Time” on Work Order, if it is a PM-generated work order, the execution time gets copied from the PM action at generation. So Execution Time can be useful in a scenario like this. If you have a PM having 3 work lists with duration 2, 5 & 3. If these 3 tasks can be done parallelly, then it will take only 5 hours to do the work, not 10 hours which is the sum of task durations. So, to show that info, you can use the execution time field. Other than that, value entered on this field will not be considered for any other standard functionality in application.

Work order description is not updated automatically when work order is generated from PM action

Hi @Dinith Pathirage This is the standard functionality of App 10.In App 10, the main focus is on work task, not on work order. In a scenario where you create several PM actions and group them in to generate a single work order, work task lines will be generated relevant to the PM actions under one work order. For an example if you create 4 PM actions with work descriptions, there are 4 work task created under one work order and in the work task you will be able to see the description that you have added in the PM actions in the field "Long description". All these task are created under one work order, hence in the work order, work description is kept blank.Thanks & Regards,Dilini

Document Templates in Apps10 - Aurena

For the same combination if you try to define two documents as templates, you will notice that it is not allowed. Please refer the image below.Also, Kindly notice that, one same document can be defined as template file for many combinations of Document Class, Language and Format.(In above image notice that Document with doc no 1000001 is defined as template for two combinations successfully and the same can be a template for another different document class too)

Serial Object Rename

@Rob Tree After the inventory part has been made maintenance aware, it will not be possible to change the Serial No. One workaround you could do is, query for the Serial Object and delete it. You will get an information message saying that the Part Serial will not be removed. After that, it will be possible to change the serial number. Then, the final step is to once again make the part maintenance aware. This work around requires a few steps but it doesn’t take long.

Object Connections - how to make visible

@sandra.waud Could you please tell if they cannot see the service NCR as a whole on attachment panel or the attachments done as NCR attachments? If it is the 2nd scenario then please check if the same user can see those NCRs on screen NCR directly. If they can’t, then the issue might be due to access control to that form.

@Huffman Please check if you have added a worklist line. Once the work list line is added, planned start and planned finish get calculated on the maintenance plan. Work list line becomes the task on the Work Order later.

How to restrict attaching documents from other document classes that user is not enabled to create document revisions?

Hi @Nethmini Kosvinna , As far as I know, I assume we cannot restrict attaching option to specific set of document classes for a user. But, if you set a document class as a restricted access (either from Document Class Management> Document Default values> RESTRICTED_ACCESS value 'Y' or when creating doc revisions, ticking the checkbox), user should have at least view access to the document to see its general information. So, by setting this, when attaching documents to objects, in the document revisions list, users who do not have at least view access will not see those revisions with restricted access checkbox checked. To make sure the user does not get view access to documents created on a specific doc class, you can further set up this on Document Basic>Access template tab, enter the user ID and clear all three levels of access.Hope this will be helpful.

@matt.watters The View option on Document revisions will get enabled only if a file is checked in. So, if you have a dummy file checked in & an appropriate macro is set up for the “View” process, then when you need to view it, you can just click “view” button, then via the macro you will be able to open the url or link to the external location, which you have saved on an appropriate field. @Susith According to Search Dialog that Deepak has shown above, it seems that he has set up the saved search for the tab “Single” in “Manual Reservations for Customer Order Line” form. The saved searches for the Main form works with no issue in above mentioned way, but as I know this will not work for sub tabs though.

Hyperlink in Document Revision

You might be able to do this by keeping the URL in some field on the document, and use a macro to open the URL. A dummy file needs to be checked in to the document. Then the user can access into each link manually or to make ease the process you can setup a macro that will open the included url in that custom field, else you don’t have to create a custom field unless you want a separate section to save the url or link. You can use any field that does not affect the other data to store the link. Hope this will be helpful.

Work task in Hold

It avoids the user from changing the status and it allows to do other activities with respect to the status of the work task. This simply says that the task is put on hold and cannot proceed this point onward until on-hold is removed. It is a kind of high-level decision to keep a task on-hold, therefore transaction level has not done restrictions with respect to the status of the Work Order
