Auto report Qty only on receipt of shop order

Apps 10 UPD 18 Currently we manually( via IFS partner integration) receive shop orders, both to handling units and to loose stock. We are utilizing the API Shop_Ord_API.Receive_Part__. In using shop floor work bench, the users start and stop production, and approve operations(labor/machine time and qty).We want to change this to auto report Qty. Steps we’ve taken:Changed the flag on receive part - Auto Report Operation to True. On the work center - set the Auto Report Labor/Machine time with qty to Never. Allow Over reporting on inventory part-Manufacturing.The qty is correctly reporting to the operation for each shop order receipt. However, if we over produce(go over the Lot Size) the operation clocking gets stopped, and the time is reported.  Again - it works perfect until we hit our lot size, which we do more often than not. Surely there must be a setting we’re missing to never report time on shop order receipt and to allow the clockings to continue until manually stopped. Thanks!

Configurator and DOP

Can anyone share their experience using the part configurator but NOT using DOP? IFS documentation seems to pair these two functionalities but there is internal resistance to DOP as others would prefer to immediately generate an engineering part number from the configuration tool and skip using DOP. We have historically built an item and brought it into inventory and then picked it to the order and have used projects as a way to connect material/shop orders to customer orders. There is a mindset that there is no advantage to using DOP.  I’m hesitant to run with that idea given the documentation seems to point to DOP as being the “best” option in a CTO environment. I’m of the mindset that it would help decrease part proliferation as we have definitely had new part numbers created for essentially duplicate systems which is inefficient. I welcome any pros/cons regarding using DOP with the part configurator to aid in internal discussions.

Raw Material planning - Silo consumption

The Shop Orders at our customers often have a long through put time while the raw materials are located in silos with a limited capacity.In IFSCloud the MRP proposals for the total component quantity of the shop order are placed on the start date of the order.Is there a technique in IFS to spread the supply/ receipts proportionally to the demand consumption over the lead time of the shop orders so that the silos are regularly refilled with a smaller chance of overflow?

The Control Plan Status Active is Mandatory Ticked

Hello,As seen in the attached picture on the Quality Basic Data page, the marked parts are not marked. However, its status is inactive as seen in the 2nd picture on the Control Plan page. Then, when activated as shown in the 3rd picture, it automatically marks the Mandatory part. Then, on the Quailty Basic Data page, the marked area in the 4th picture becomes ticked. How can I avoid this situation?

Database Task Chains access

Hello All, I’m attempting to grant access to a user to view the contents of Database Task Chains in IFS 10. I’ve granted access on the Permission Set, and the user can now create database chains, however, they are unable to view any chains they have created. The table is blank when they attempt to populate it. I am able to view the contents, but I have the IFSAPP full grants. I’m assuming there is another area the user needs access to, but I do not see anything in the help that indicates what needs grants. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MRP Part Information-TOP DOWN and TOP UP in Aurena

Dear All,   I am working in IFS Aurena where I found that there are 2 screens for MRP Part Information. One is MRP Part Information-Top Up and another is MRP Part Information- Top Down. Document Revision Lot Batch connection

Hello, does anyone know if you can create a document revision on a batch record and have it ‘follow’ that batch. For example, if i was to attach a certificate to a certain part in the Inventory Part In stock screen I would like to be able to view that certificate from the Material Transaction History on the Shop order.

Supporting and Migrating Multiple Product Structures

Hello Community,We are migrating engineering part information into an existing implementation and have a need to create separate engineering part structures and hierarchies that utilize the same components.  For instance, Parts A and B may both utilize Part C as a child component, but the Part B hierarchy would have further children parts that Part A would not have.  What we do not want is when looking at the structure and hierarchy for Part A, to see the child components related to Part B.  Further, we do not want modifications made to a parent/child to affect the structure of another part. Is this supported in Apps10, and if so, is there a recommended practice to implement this?  Looking at the engineering part structure data, it seems like this may be possible by delineating a structure ID, but I can’t find how to set that on the front end or through the migration documentation.

Why Aurena client's search pane does not filter the results as IEE?

For example:If you have the same part in two companies/sites. In the Aurena client, first set the search criteria to one site. Then run the search for the part number.Both the parts from the two companies/sites are fetched for the query results regardless of the previously set site search criteria.In IEE client this filtration is available and only the part corresponding to the filtration criteria which was set initially will be displayed.

Accessing help on a chromebook

Hi, this may be a really simple question but I am accessing the Apps 10 Aurena PPE environment on a chromebook. It works really nice but I can't find an obvious way of accessing  the help. Of course, on a chromebook there is no F1 button and I can't see a link to the help. Please help! Thanks everyone.

Auto Reserve and back flush

Hi, using APPS 10 and experiencing a slight issue with the ‘Reserve/ Issue from Loc’ specified on the product structure not being pulled through to the shop order (see below).the structure revision on the product structure and shop order are the same and on the inventory part ‘Reserve/ issue from:’ is set to Only Specified Location to ensure it only reserves and issues the material from the correct location (below).When checking the Reserve and Backflush Visualization on the material line within the shop order is shows there is no locations acting as priority to reserve from.does anyone know what else could be casing this?regardsJamie

Work Center/Labor Class Capacity Calculation Default End Date

Apps10, UPD12.When manually performing ‘Calculate Work Center Resource Capacity’ or ‘Calculate Labor Capacity for Manufacturing’, the value for Calculation to Date defaults to 180 days from system date.Is it possible to change this default of 180 days?I know this can be established if I were to configure this as a scheduled task.

Issue with IFS9 double side printing to one printer

Hi, all of a sudden we have a printer that is printing double sided.  The 2-sided option within the device settings is unchecked.  The printing default settings and preferences are set to 1 sided as well.  Printing form other applications to this printer are 1 sided so it is something happening in IFS.  Printing to other printers by the same user results in the proper 1 sided.  We are using IFS 9.  Thank you for any assistance with this printer!!

Finite Scheduling back to back shop operations on same shop order

Attempting to schedule operations using the advanced planning board. Ops 10 and 20 on each shop order are routed to the same work center. I would like to schedule these operations back to back and complete both operations before moving to a different shop order.  The APB is scheduling operation 10 from one order, then operation 10 from another order, then back to operation 20 on the original, then 20 on the next and so on.Is there a way to influence scheduling to complete both operations on one order before moving on to the next order?

Stop all shop order clockings for weekend

We thought we heard at the last WOCO that there is now in Apps 10 a setting that will automatically stop all clockings at the end of the ‘work week’. So if the last shift of the week is 2nd shift on Friday, for example, it will stop all clocking that are started, in case the operator forgets to do so. I have looked at all kinds of basic data, site settings, calendar setting, system parameters, manufacturing standards and am still missing it. Can someone please point me to where to set it?Thanks

In IFS Apps 10 Update 11 Aurena, we have found the following question/issue on the Product Structure screen (Engineering > Structure > Product Structure > Product Structure)When we minimize the record selector tile view by clicking the << button, there is no alternative method to select records (i.e. the dropdown menu which is usually shown across the top of the screen is missing).

Handling Damaged Stocks

  We have created dummy location called “Damaged” in one site and moved some damaged stock to that location and user doesn’t want to show that quantity as available stock in customer order. Can you advice how to achieve this ?
