Additional comment to my post above: Inventory Part doesn’t have “Priority Reservation” set in Control Values
Thanks @VanSusanm It seems that we cannot set this at Create as there’s an automatic reservation happening (which seems a little weird since we’re not including the line in planning)Checking our CO Order Flow it seems that no automatic reservation should happen for this Order type before releasing the order: Or am I missing something?
HiIn a setup with a sales site and a supplying site, where the internal CO on the supply site is created automatically, our planners on the supply site want to control when incoming internal orders are included in the MRP calculations. For this, we see two ways forward:Use Supply code “Not decided” pr default on supply site and let our planners toggle this to the right supply code pr part. Drawback here is that they need to check what is the right supply code Have the Release for Mtrl Planning flag default ticked off for internal COs on the supply site.We favor option 2, but see in this thread, that this might not be possible without custom events. Did anyone find other/better solutions? Otherwise we’ll just create these events.BR Kristian
“Copy Parts to Site” unfortunately is not very configurable. Typically, a sales part could be purchased on one site and manufactured on a different site and have different planners, and supply codes. Also, we need to keep part data in sync at all times. I suppose best solution is a custom page to define automation settings and custom events to keep data in sync. Or look into “Parts by Assortment and Site Cluster” functionality. Any experiences on this?
Hope someone will answer this.We’re looking for similar functionality on how we can automtaically extend parts in a multisite setup

Hi Any updates on this?It seems really strange that IFS doesn’t allow us to keep track of our packaging materials. In many cases, it is really difficult to sell/ship unpacked products. Hence, it is really hard to find valid arguments to omit packaging materials from supply chain planning.
Anyone knows if this was implemented? Facing the same requirement. Who doesn’t keep track of pallet inventory?Also - any advise on how to use “Handling Unit Accessories” as a workaround is much appreciated as well..

Today, a file location can be set by document class, but implementing further control to keep documents in selected locations based on user/user location/user company could help compliance towards various legal requirements (EAR, ITAR, GDPR).In Document Basic->History Settings we could wish to be able to track who has opened a file. I hope someone from RnD will see this and put it on the idea wall, as there could be many reasons someone wants to do this:Imagine a scenario where prices on certain microchips skyrockets and products are now overhauled rather than replaced :) “Create SM Object” are unticked by human error and very large serial structures are therefore by accident not created. It could simply be a RMB on the part serial or a WO functionality triggering a slighly altered Equipment_Serial_Utility_API.Create_Object
HiA WO Return line which has not yet been returned to inventory can be considered as a planned supply. Hence it could make sense to include this in planning. This doesn’t seem to be supported in standard functionality.

As IFS is often branding itself on their capabilities within service and maintenance and as an enabler for global growth, it is peculiar, that basic multi-site/multi-company functionality are retaining a major architectural flaw, namely that Serial Objects are forever linked to the site & company in which they were originally created. (From here, assume sites are in different companies)While a Part Serial can be naturally moved from site A to site B, the Serial Object remains connected to site A subsequently to this move. Let’s reflect upon the consequences of this:Users in site B will after the A->B move of the part serial, not be able to see/edit the subordinate structure of the serial object and related documents etc. without full access to site A. Users in site B will not be able
I understand this is how the standard business logic works.However, I don’t find this to make much sense since sales people and customers shouldn’t care about whether an item is inventory controlled or not.I am looking for someone who has successfully implemented a change process for this (probably including a job, RMB or similar calling and UPDATE statement on SALES_PART_TAB).
We are importing raw materials for production under Inward Processing rules. This means that we have to answer this basic question:How much of the purchased lot/batch is still in our possession? And subsequently: Where is it? That is, as rawmaterial in inventory, as sub-assembly or final product in inventory or as WIP issued to a shop order (as rawmaterial or included in sub-assembly).Hence, a bottom-up analysis is needed. I would think that this would be a quite basic report many IFS customers would need and I’m puzzled we don’t find anything helping us in IFS standard.Br Kristian
Hi Michael.Thanks for your response. We have made initial attempts following the ITH approach. However, our conclusions are that this is not the right way as we have very deep structures in our manufacturing and many (up to eight) levels of shop orders which means that we will track our purchased batches all the way up through all these levels. The lot batch master holds almost all the information that we need, so I think this is the right place to start. My approach would be something like this: Based on the tables of the lot/batch master, identify all top parts containing the lot batch and the lot/batch quantity each of these top parts contains. The top parts can be either Lot/batch controlled or serialized. Figure out where the top part or lot/batch quantity itself are located and add it to the right column.If you succeeded with the ITH approach on mulitlevel structures I’d love to see how you got through with that!BR Kristian

Hi When using a standard data-source for creating a lobby-element: I cannot make the preview display any data. Therefore I decided to turn on the debugger to see the executed query. When I do this I find that the element sorts data according to a column which is not part of the datasource or view Has anyone experienced something similar or tried to report this to IFS? Thanks for your reply. Until Apps 10 Quick reports where our best way to do “presentation of information in simple, focused and comprehensible manner to end users”. Since we now have a better tool for that which seems to be much better for driving end user behaviour we hope to see usage tracking in an update. We are getting this question from our business managers when we have made lobby pages “Are my employees using it?”
We’re using the excel migration tool for this. It is fairly simple for to set up new excel migration jobs that superusers / master data managers can then use for mass maintenance. We keep finding places where this tool is applicable. A great thing about the tool is, that all updates are going through standard APIs and there’s a separate access control on using the excel migration tool and access control on the individual jobs. No need for shady update scripts and IT being bottle neck on executing data maintenance.
Why not add this as document attachment? APIs are available and fairly simple to use.. Alternatively attach as media attachment.
