This is marked as an obsolete product in the later versions of the GPL 2.5B. What is the replacement product for this functionality in 2021R2 and 2022R1?

Steve, repull down update 8; R&D made a change on the Saturday afternoon it was released that addressed this. If you get the latest this issue should resolve.

Completed Task in Schedule Board

Why do you want to see completed tasks on the schedule board, are you trying to determine work completed per day (lobby tile on service manager), provide manager a list of work done to review part usage and non part usage (My Team Tracker / drill down to accept reject line codes); what is the end goal of showing completed tasks on the schedule board?

You do not want to go down this path, keeping completed tasks will cause significant performance delays in your schedule board; causing end-user complaints on the time the schedule board takes to paint and return data. What are you trying to accomplish? Let’s find a better solution.

FSM Reports Create Trigger

If you create an event on the task and then you could write an event based notification on the task that would deliver the pdf report (or after FSM 6 Update 2 excel or word) to whoever you create your notification rule to. Have you checked that the size of the file attachment is smaller than the application parameter? That sometimes gives the appearance of an intermittent issue.

Can we make changes to FSM mobile App

FSM license type - Message and FSM integration framework - How does it works?

FSMConnect comes with 5 message users, some customer instances have more. A user id set up with a message type user cannot log into the application and is only intended to identify the data was created via this integration user id.

FSM 5.7 - Part Replacement Function

Replacement part is saying you are no longer using this part. Part need will continue to allow consumption of the part until stock gets to 0 then will flip to the new part when no stock exists. If you order it, put it on a quote, it will use the new number in replacement.

FSM Mobile - Show pop up

You could add a survey with the answers you are looking to for that screen and that might give you what you are looking for. Is a good place to start if you haven’t heard of surveys in FSM mobile. They can be added in mobile in addition to the webclient.

FSM 5.7 - Password field not displaying masked data

Ady, this was an intentional change as part of an outside security assessment. 5.7 Update 8 release notes:Setting Up Person RecordsImportant. A change has been made to how Person records are set up thataffects who can change other user's passwords in FSM5.7u6.A role identifies menus and functions that a person can and cannot access.Functions are defined within each role and are used to determine what thepeople with these roles can change and do. The ADMIN role is used foradministrators of FSM and are trusted to have full access to all Personrecords and make changes to them. The functions EDITPERSONANY andEDITROLEANY are assigned to anyone given the ADMIN role. The functionEDITPERSONANY enables administrators to edit license types andpasswords on Person records, and EDITROLEANY enables them to editroles. Person records can be created by non-admin users without these fields,but an admin with EDITPERSONANY must set the license type andpasswords to activate the user and an admin with EDIT

Sales Call

When you are talking about a sales call are you talking about a sales order coming from an ERP to be configured / installed at a customer or are you talking about a sales person has been on-site and there is work to do?We have out of the box integrations with Salesforce and Dynamics CRM.If it is an order coming from ERP to be installed you could use FSM Connect or Dell Boomi.It could originate as a sales quote for a request, and then when the quote is accepted it would be turned into a request with tasks.The original thought behind opportunities is the step before the quote, the technician is out in the field, they see an opportunity where we might be able to sell something additional and it gets passed to sales. Opportunities do not automatically turn into requests / tasks though.

What ae the parameters need to be checking in FSM for performance issue

Unfortunately, to resolve you are going to first define, performance, below is the questions support will ask: 1 Get an architectural diagram of the customer's environment. This includes: 1a Application Servers 1b Web Servers 1c Database Servers 1d Miscellaneous items such as firewalls, routers, etc. 1e Identify which servers are physical vs. virtual. For virtual servers, identify what physical servers they are running on. 1f Identify what other software is running on the servers. 1g Identify the key hardware characteristics of the servers (memory, processors, storage). 1h Identify the operating system versions. 1i Identify the database type and version. 2 What does the customer mean by "bad performance"? 2a Is performance universally bad or bad only at certain times? 2b Are they receiving time-outs from the smart client? 2c Are screens taking a long time to launch? 2d Does it take longer to select data from the system? 2e Does it ta

Physical and organizational groups

These fields were created for reporting and querying of data so you would be able to look at data within different break downs within the FSM application. Your organization may have a hierarchy that is broken out regionally (physical location) by country, state, region, team and organizationally (sales, service, marketing / org chart). The fields allow you to look at data both ways.

Product Serach option in RMA page

Remember that anything that goes through the Repair Center needs to be a part; which is why your product needs to become a part to product. Then depending on what your return reason is, and how you have configured what gets returned to the customer, is controlled.You do the service request, with a controlled part / disposition of RMA which will then trigger the creation of the RMA for receipt at the repair depot once the product is deinstalled, converted to a part and received at the repair depot.

Customer Portal Access query

No, if you want to check status of RMA’s and requests in FSM you need to have a license. The customer portal is the correct method to do this. Customer portal is concurrent so depending on the usage frequency you could have 10 or 20 customers per customer portal license.If it’s inquiry only, make sure you set up the role correctly so customers cannot add / modify requests.

SSRS report not running from FSM web client

Have you checked your Microsoft Report Viewer? Based on the upgrade / installation instructions, Microsoft Report Viewer 14 is installed by the IFS Installer to support portals. If that isn’t the right version, reports won’t work.

FSM - Change Product on Completed Request

You need to be using an exchange type line code also make sure your part becomes product flag is set; also make a decision on if its a controlled part . Then its a matter of what you choose to have happen if you dealing with subcomponents.

IFS defaulted taskstatusany on the ADMIN role. If you add taskstatusany to all of the client / portal roles you will see the same functionality.

FSM 5.7 Mobile - Important Information Notification

Sorry, the new notification information only applies to FSM 6 so it wouldn’t apply. I would encourage you to look at upgrading to FSM 6. There have been extensive improvements in the configurations related to mobile. I’ve recently uploaded the Enhancement Index (which provides a summary of changes by version) along with the full FSM 6 Update 5 Document Set. Watch Jeff Senzig’s video of FSM 6 Update 4; the last 5-7 minutes go through how notifications work on mobile. The video is posted on WorkPlace. New changes come in FSM 6 Update 5 that released Thursday.

FSM-Database Migration

Is there any reason you aren’t using the standard upgrade scripts Update 5 comes out today, but I’ve attached the upgrade instructions for Update 4 for on-premise. If you are running it in the IFS Managed cloud, you will need to work with our services team to get your environment.
