Work Task - Pre Accounting - Mandatory

Hello, App10 UPD13 IEEWe want mandatory pre-posting for a Work Task code part. We have set:T57 (Pre Accounting Work Task) -- Code Part “C” -- C58 (Mandatory Pre Posting) -- no DftHowever IFS never “stops” for the pre accounting mandatory entry. When is (should) the requirement be triggered? I’d assume at Task Release; but no - WT goes to Released and transactions are allowed (Issue material, report time, etc.). Is this a possible bug or am I missing something? Thanks

Maintenance/Service Employee Overhead Cost

Hello Community!!Is there a way to capture Maintenance/Service Employee Overhead Cost - similar to manufacturing labor OH? Or can we trick the IFS to get this cost created - is it possible to assign a “tool” (with an hr.ly cost) to an employee that would automatically track employee hr.s reported? Thanks! Troy

Purchase Order, E-Mail Order RMB, PDF Filename

Using the “Report Rule” we can set the P.O. filename in the Report Document Archive to something a bit “smart”, like “SUPno-PO-Pxxxxx ”. Nice! But what we’d also like to do for the benefit of our vendors, as we RMB - Send Order, is send them a “smartly” named file. The IFS attached PDF default filename is a concatenation of the Report Title and Result Key; which may as well be a random number. Is there a way of defining the e-mail attached PDF’s filename? Thanks!

Permissions - Activities

Hello Community!Where/how can I get a detailed description for each Activity which does not show any “Where Used” links? For example, all of the “Document Management” Activities - they show nothing in the “Where Used” pane; and many seem redundant with the database objects (although I know they are not, just not how). The “ViewSite” Ativity is another clean example; on it’s own, what does it allow?Is the listing in Foundation1 Help somewhere?Thanks, Troy

Have "The Business" Control Who can Create Purchase Requisitions

Hello,We want to minimize IT’s roll controlling (by permission set) who can create purchase requisitions (PR’s). As a matter of fact, we want to grant “Create New” PR to all users, moving the entire process to “The Business” (they control who is allowed to create PR’s). How can this be accomplished?

Work Task Time Registration - Control - Employee Termination

Hello,W.T. time is being reported for Resource Individuals (RI) in the Res. Nav. My testing indicates the only way to stop time from being registered for a RI is to “BLOCK” the RI. Is there a way to use a date instead. The scenario is Registering time for the past but after the Term date. Is that possible with W.T. time Reg.?Cheers, Troy

Purchase Requisition tied to a Work Order and MRP Interaction

Hello, We are trying to figure out if the following scenario is “as intended” IFS behavior:Question: What’s the “correct” way to source INVENTORY parts for my WO when Inv Part in Stock =0?Scenario: Test with 0 in stock (MMR = Maintenance Material Req.): Enter Inv P/N xx on WO/Req..s Tab/Part Req. Lines Tab -- Save (sys auto-adds an MMR line), -- leave Pur.Req. in Planned Release MMR header Run MRP.MRP creates Pur.Req. for MMR line seemingly ignoring the WO tied (planned) Pur.Req. supply.This creates an over-supply for xx. Site / Inventory / Inventory Part Planning? Ver10 UDP13

Hello Community!We are upgrading from 9 to 10. As part of the effort, we were looking at the data differences on “The Company” and on “The Site”. On the site record we discovered what seems like hidden data on the “top level” Inventory tab, under the General, Automatic Reservation, and Transport Task Tabs. But maybe this is a BUG since these are Inventory Part Planning Properties in a new grouping?? Is the “Inventory Part Planning” tab supposed to be invisible? Hopefully I’ve provided enough information:

RMB From WorkTaskTime to Time Reg: Possible?

IFS 10 UPD8: We’ve created many RMB’s without issue (Create Window with Transfer). However, jumping to “Time Registration” has challenged us. Asking if this is possible? Our Custom Menu settings:Window: tbwJtTaskReportTime Destination: frmTimmanReg Presentation Object: frmTimmanReg, frmTimmanRegUpper (tried both) Key Trans: (Employee_ID = Emp_NO) and (COMPANY = COMPANY_ID) and (TRANSACTION_DATE=ACCOUNT_DATE)Our error: “Using ‘cDataTransfer’: Requested item does not exist”. Then we get an invalid date format notice.We can work-a-round with a “Create Window” and then query but it would be nice……. Help/advice greatly appreciated - Cheers

User Screen - Enable Attachments

Hello Community! Is it possible to enable (document) attachments to the user screen?If so, how? (entry in “Object Connections”…..)Why??? We are exploring solutions for recording the last permission sets assigned to a departing user. We are considering “Export Grants for Selected Users” -- attaching the xml to the (departing) user record. This would provide information as we bring in a new user in replacement at later date…. MRB Case Status; IFS9 vs. IFS10

Hello Community,We just upgraded from “9” to “10” UPD 13. Production/Quality has noticed MRB’s no longer create in “In Process” ( “9” ) but in “10” create in “Planned”. This is adding steps (and a little confusion) to the process when creating an MRB via RBM off a Shop Order Line. Is there any control on the “Default create MRB”? We’d like to set it as “In Process”. I’ve looked in all the usual places for this type of setting, nothing….. Thanks, Troy

Time Registration Aware Modules - by Company

Hello,I’m in a multi-company instance. Some companies are manufacturing (SO’s) and some of those do project time. One is a Service oriented company (WO’s/WT’s). We have the following Time Reg aware Modules activated: SHPORD, PRJREP, INDIRECT, WO.Is it possible (how) to limit my Service Company to only the WO button (we don’ want to see SHPORD, PRJREP, INDIRECT)?Thanks, Troy

Reserve Serial No on Shop Order - S/N on any S.O. Reports?

So what is the IFS design for communicating the Shop Order reserved serial numbers to the manufacturing floor (they only use IFS Shop Floor Workbench, no logins?) We’ve looked at the Shop Order report and the Shop Order Work Instruction report; nothing. Our actual issue is how do we communicate the Shop Order reserved serial numbers to the outside service operation vendor. But at this point, that would be a bonus…. Ideas?

Hello Community!While, looking over “Object Connections”, I noticed two similar entries, always on the same line with each other. ….EcoObjectConn^ & EcoActionObjectConn^…. HELP mentions only EcoActionObjectConn^ in the Service List.is EcoObjectConn^ a leftover from a previous IFS version? can I remove EcoObjectConn^ from each without impact?Been messing with IFS since Ver. 2004 but can’t tease out any memories…Cheers

Apps10: Purchase Order Change Order (Enforced) Prom/Plan Delivery Dates

Question, is there a way to include these two dates in the P.O. C.O. process (as part of the enforce rule)? Testing indicates these two are not included. Changing (only) the Promised Del. Date using the RMB context menu “Confirm with Differences via Change Order” does not invoke the P.O. C.O. process. WHY I ask: We would like to capture these “Vendor Driven” date changes, holding the P.O. C.O. from Release (that’s a security issue-easy) until production schedules and commitments are considered by the materials planner.Cheers!

Enter New Work Task on "W.O. Screen" ONLY, Not "Work Tasks"

Hello Community!IFS 10 - UPD8 -- Is there a way, without taking the presentation object, to limit new Work Tasks to:Prepare Work Order / Work Tasks Tab Report In Work Order / Work Tasks TabWhile NOT Work Task(s). Why? We have some unique Work Task guard-rails…..I’ve tried various combinations of Read Only, Mandatory, and Conditional Fields on the Work Tasks screen but those “rules” flow through to “W.O.” screens.

Vacation Time Balance not Decrementing as Vacation Reported

Hello Community,My company starts yearly Vacation allocation on May 01. Last year in ‘23 (after May 01), as employees reported Vacation via Time Card, some employees’ time was deducted from their Vac. Time Balance while others’ time was not deducted (all with the same setup). Oddly, sorting employees by Emp ID showed a relation - there was a cut midway through the sort where those above the cut, time was deducted, those below the cut, reported vacation time was not deducted. Eventually (January time-frame) the the issue “fixed itself,” as attached screen shot “Balances Accruals and Withdrawals” shows.But this left us with a lot of reconciliations. I’ve attached some historical screen shots of Employee 90211. This person’s vacation time deduct didn’t start working until Jan. ‘24. I cannot find where the 9 ten-hour Vacation days went, if they went anywhere. They didn’t automatically end up in the “VACATION” Balance (they should have). User Options, Changing Default Values

Hello Community!Is there a place/way to change the value(s) retrieved when “Use Default” is clicked: We would like to change the “out of the box” values instead of using (Base) Profiles to drive our profile starting point. This would also make it easier for our end-users to recover our intended settings.Thanks!
