Hello,Every time I open a jpg attachment in apps 10 IEE, I get the “How do you want to open this file?” prompt by Windows, and regardless of how many times I check the “always use this app to open .jpg files” checkbox, I always get this prompt when I open a jpg attachment. I know Windows is storing this app as the default program because Windows never prompts me with this when I open jpgs via other methods like email attachments, locally saved jpgs, network pictures, etc. It’s only occurring when I open a jpg via the IEE app. I can even navigate to the folder where IFS downloads the jpg file and open it successfully from there. I’ve tried resetting the Photos app in Windows and re-confirming the default app choices in app settings. I’ve spoken to other users of our apps 10 IEE setup and they don’t appear to have this same issue. Any thoughts on how to remedy this?Thanks,Evan Edwards
Hello,We are running into an issue with planned/committed costs for material showing an incorrect value when a specific inventory part is added to a project-connected work order. The planned cost is calculated and showing correctly on the work order, but the project connection and activity cost is significantly higher. We have been unable to figure out how this value is being calculated differently compared to the work order. For reference, we are running IFS Apps 10 Update 13.The part in question is a manufactured part. Below is a screenshot of the inventory part and the cost tab. It shows the current unit cost of one of these parts as $37,745.88. When I add this part to a work order on the materials tab, it pulls in the correct Planned Cost for that part. It also shows the correct planned cost on the work order Budget tab.However when we look at the project activity that this work order is connected to, for some reason it is showing a planned/committed cost of $149,060,400.52. Hello,I’m not sure if this should be posted in the assets forum for the PM functionality or this forum for database task schedule functionality. We are attempting to create a new database task schedule to run the function Pm_Action_Calendar_Plan_API.Extend_Plan. This function extends the system parameter PM Plan Horizon. Our plan is to keep this value set 5 years out and the hope is to run this at the beginning of each year to automatically extend the plan horizon by another year. Otherwise it could easily be forgotten if it has to be run manually once a year. There’s only one parameter for this function called NEW_YEAR_ and it should be a YYYY number. I’ve tried multiple setups to set this to a value 5 years from this year, but nothing seems to be working properly. The closest I’ve gotten is using #NUMBER_OF_THIS_YEAR#+5 but this just sets the argument to quite literally 2023+5.It seems odd that this parameter won’t sum the two values together. Hello,I’m wondering if it’s possible to adjust the future due dates on a PM action with Performed Date Based set to Yes without a new work task being created/completed? Every time I try to manually change the due date on a line in the maintenance plan, the system won’t change any future suggestions. We’re running apps 10 update 13.A little background on the specific scenario:The PM generated a work order for 10/5/22, but because it falls during a major outage at the plant, it was decided to skip this instance and perform the maintenance when the unit is back online. The WO for 10/5/22 ended up being cancelled. The major outage will be completed by 12/12/22, so we want to adjust the next due date for this PM to line up with that date. I can manually adjust the due date for the next maintenance plan line and save, but the rest of the due dates don’t adjust. Hello,I’m running into an error trying to use an API method from the equipment object structure costs, and I’m wondering if this is a bug or if it’s intended functionality. If it’s intended functionality, would someone be able to explain why? Below is an example of the issue. For reference, we are running Apps 10 update 13. On equipment objects, there is a tab called cost/year. This shows summed costs that have been transacted against this object. On object V13201 below, the display shows a total cost for 2022 at $300.45. This is actually the sum of 4 different transactions so far, all with the cost type of Expenses. However when I run the API method EQUIPMENT_STRUCTURE_COST_API.Get_Total_Cost_Year('V13201', '104', '2022'), I get a null result returned.To confirm this API method works, I tested it on another object that has multiple cost types associated with it. Hello,We utilize work task steps on work tasks to indicate different objects that need to have work performed on them as part of the overall work task. We have some scenarios where certain work task steps aren’t able to be completed during that original work task for various reasons. We’d like to be able to “move” that work task step to a different work task so it could be scheduled with other work. However, each work task step gets locked to the task when it’s created. Is there a reason why work task steps get locked to the work task? Is there a different way to be able to move the work task step? Ideally, we’d be able to move the step to a different task while maintaining the unique step number. If this isn’t possible to do, I can’t see to figure out why a step number has to be locked. We can move tasks to different work orders (under certain conditions), so why are steps always locked? We are running Apps 10 update 13.
Hello all,In the projects module, there’s an ability to evenly spread planned resource hours across the activity’s start and finish dates. This helps even out the resource analysis so the full resource hours don’t show up at the beginning of the planned start. I’m wondering if this functionality exists for resource analysis related to PM actions and/or work tasks. From what I can tell, the PM action and work task related resource analysis will just fill out based on the planned start date and however the maintenance calendar is set up (e.g. 16 planned hours with 8 hour work days will be spread out across 2 full days). We run into a couple issues with this setup on PM action resource analysis in future years. Some of our PMs are set up to generate the first of the year because we don’t know when we’ll be able to schedule them throughout the year at that time. We just know they’re due that year. First, I apologize if this is in the wrong sub forum. This question technically touches 3 different modules (Projects, Work Orders, Supply Chain), but since it ultimately involves trying to change a purchase requisition status, I thought procurement would be the most relevant. I am wondering if there is a way to manually close a purchase requisition that is connected to a PO when the system didn’t automatically switch the req status to closed.We are trying to close out a project that has connected work orders and associated purchase requisitions. The purchase requisition lines have been converted to purchase orders and the purchase orders have been closed (or cancelled in one case). However, we are unable to close the project activity because there are outstanding open requisitions associated with the connected work order. Generally the requisition status changes to closed once a PO is created, but for 4 requisitions associated to this project, they are still stuck in released. It’s po
Hello,In the Prepare Work Order screen on the Journal tab, IFS automatically tracks status changes for various things like Work Task, Work Order, and Work Task Steps. We are wanting to also track status changes for the material orders associated with work order on the Materials tab. We noticed in the Source column on the Journal tab that Material Order is a pre-defined source value. However, our system isn’t recording any status changes in the journal tab for material orders. Hello,We are running into an issue where it appears the calculated planned costs are doubling tax amounts for purchase order lines. It appears this can be a somewhat common issue based on other community posts, but we’ve been unsuccessful tracking down where this double tax calculation is coming from, even after reading other community posts. Below are some screenshots with a specific example, however, this issue is present on other projects as well, not just this project/activity. The other community posts seem to focus on other areas of IFS instead of the project planned cost. Has anyone experienced this before and been successful in tracking down where this double tax calculation is coming from when occurring on a project’s planned cost? This specific project activity is showing a planned cost of $4,580.Project connections shows it’s coming from only one purchase order no part line.However the PO shows a net price of $4,000 and a total gross price of $4,290, indicating there’s $290
