Access to Employees in Preliminary Status

Hi @Shehan Almeida , Your proposed method will give access to the whole group of preliminary employees to those listed in the Access tab. We’ll have GDPR issues if we add to many employees with access.Is there a way to limit access to only the supervisor of the employees that will start?I find it a little strange that the IFS doesn’t have this as a configuration, so that we will have a choice if supervisor have access to their employees that will start at a future date.

IEE Pre-Authentication through Azure Application Proxy

An update regarding this case.We had a meeting with a technical resource at IFS and found out that Microsoft’s Click-Once technology that IFS IEE is built on, is not working with Azure Preauth. It’s not safe to skip the preauth in Application Proxy, because of some URL’s does not support OAuth2.That would be the ones with basic authentication in this page :https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/foundation1/010_overview/210_security/090_exposing_to_internet/default.htm To get this to work we need to setup IEE without Click-Once and publish to Application Proxy. Then we can handle the addresses that are not safe to expose on the internet.

Hi @Geoff Romyns, very good and thank you very much for your follow up! :) Much appreciated! I totally agree with you, someone that knows the technical architecture of IFS Security must confirm this. A safety “token” or handshake between IFS and a user is established, it must be explored if this is done in a safe way since IFS IEE does not support Pre-authentication from Azure.

Hi @Geoff Romyns No worries :) We are very eager to allow IEE to be accessed openly, it will ease our work and save money on terminal servers such as AVD and Citrix. But it must be confirmed safe first. Not sure I understand your questions? IEE is only used (and supported?) for desktop as far as I know.

HI @Geoff Romyns,Thanks for your reply! We are using Azure AD for authentication of users. After we got it to work, we disabled it until we know if this is secure. Do you know why the built-in IFS method is not secure? I assume it could be a risk on-prem as well, if it cannot be trusted? Let me share what we did to get this to work in Azure.We added a CNAME in our DNS to msappproxyWe imported a wildcard certificate to application proxyWe published the application proxy:Note that here pre-Authentication is set to Passthrough. IEE does not support pre auth. This means that authentication is carried out by the IFS application, not by the Application proxy.Our question is if we can trust the authentication carried out by IFS? Aurena is already exposed on the Internet, but this supports pre-auth by Azure.We have set up the IEE Application registration according to IFS docs:

We were able to get this to work through Application Proxy in Azure, specifically exposing IFS IEE on Internet - but then we had to bypass the preauthentication in Azure and leave all security handling to IFS IEE. We are still unsure if this could be considered secure and have disabled this until we know more. Does anyone have experience with this or could we have a comment from IFS R&D?We are on IFS10 UPD15

@EMHUSE We haven’t get hold of the patch 161483 ourselves yet (have a case @IFS for this), so can’t say if this fixes it. But based on your input, it seems it does 😀We have fixed the issue ourselves while waiting for IFS to release the patch to us. We needed to set both the EXPENSE_DETAIL.currency_code and EXPENSE_DETAIL.gross_curr_amount on Inserts and Updates on Milage to avoid error messages when we Authorizes.

Hi @EMHUSE Thanks! Have you tried to duplicate Expense Sheets with mileage after you have applied 162861? IFS support mentioned to us that it doesn’t solve this.

We have just upgraded to UPD15 (from 11) and are having the exact same issue as you. We also want to create Vouchers, so the property must be set to True. But in addition to this, we have an issue where the amounts in GL gets multiplied with 100. Do you also have that issue? We are operating in NOK. @EMHUSE Did you find any workaround while waiting for a new patch at IFS?

Hmm, don’t think access is the case. I can install it fine manually with file explorer and provide the hostname in the dialog.Provided here, and it works fine: It’s when giving the host name via parameter it fails. Same happens if I give the parameter in a File Explorer. We have switched from standardport 48080 to 443. Could that be an issue?

@Mathias Dahl When I install the MSI through command line, it generates all files in the folder. But the allowed_hosts doesn’t include the long random string of letter and numbers, only our IFS landing page and a comma. It also generates an error when accessing the User Settings in Aurena

@Mathias Dahl Our IT Partner has an issue distributing the Aurena Agent to all our users. If I install it manually just for me through the /add-on.html page, it works fine. But if I install it with their SCCM Package (Software Center), it doesn’t work. I noticed that when I install it with their SCCM package, the folder C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\IFS\IFSAurenaAgent only contains two files:IFSAurenaAgent.logallowed_hosts.txtThe file allowed_hosts.txt has the URL and the characters as you describe above. But when I installed manually, the IFSAurenaAgent folder contains more files:aurenaagent_manifest.jsonIfs.Application.Docman.MacroManagement.dllIfs.Fnd.Mail.dllIFSAurenaAgent.exeIFSAurenaAgent.exe.configIFSAurenaAgent.logInterop.MsScript.dllNewtonsoft.Json.dllPdfPrintingNet.dllSystem.Net.Http.Formatting.dllSystem.Web.Http.dllDo you know what to do different here? IFS Middleware Server problems

Thanks! I got them to start with target ALL also, didn’t need to start them one-by-one.The problem seems to be hardware related. We’ll been in contact with our IT hosting partner and they have moved the server to a more stable cluster. The slowness in the system also seems to be related to issues with the VM. Thanks for the help.

"Failed to load person info" in Aurena screen

Hi @Amalith Wijewardhana This worked great for us, but I wonder how we could debug and found this projection ourselves? I tried to use the debug console in Aurena, but couldn’t find the projection in any logs. The ability to find, debug and correct errors in IEE is very good. But we fail to use Aurena for this. Is there a guide or best practice for debugging in Aurena?

Update: When accessing ISC with the old Internet Explorer I got in. Still cannot access bugs, but got a more correct error message when accessing BUFS, that I can forward to our IFS representative: PS. IFS should do something about this. Internet Explorer is not a safe browser to use anymore and our IT department will close this down in short time.

Can't create an IFS Case today

I also have trouble accessing the Internet Support Center. Does this work for anyone? I can access Customer Engagement Center just fine, but all stuff/services on the old portal don’t seem to have been ported over yet.

Hi @Yasas Kasthuriarachchi We are on IFS10 upd11. After I posted the above screen captures, I see that we now have access to a new Service called “Self Service Tools” in the IFS Portal, But this doesn’t include the ability to find known bugs and patches. I think @Udara.Hasantha is correct in that we should have access to them through the old Support Portal, but we still cannot access this. Have tried a lot; Changing Password, Opening it in a Inprivate Window, etc. Nothing helps.

I get this error when login in to the page you link to: I also got this mail from ifsportal today: But when I login to the portal I don’t see the Self Services Tools. These are the services I got:The bottom one seems to be the same as you link to, but I get the “could not logon user” when trying to login in there. This is the old support center that we have used for many years. But lately the error has occured. We now use the engagement center for support cases and service requests but I can’t find the bugs and patches there.

Hi Maria, That's sound correct and describe our situation good!Where do we get access to the patches? We only get access to the updates via FTP directly from IFS.
