External Voucher Batch Processing

We were still having no luck with this. I set a shared directory path in System Parameters, input the file name to be loaded in the template, and input a local path in the template. I also tried clicking on ‘output file’ in the Assistant, but still could not proceed to setting up a schedule. Turns out that the template I was using was one we migrated from Apps 7.5. When I switched to using a template that originated in Apps 10 I was able to get to the parameters and proceed to the schedule just fine. I just made a new template with the Details as I want them and am able to continue set-up/testing.

External Voucher Batch Processing

I do have one more question on this - any advice on what the system is expecting to be defined as a Backup File Directory location on the External File Template\Input Tab\File Name-Path Options? Or where an ‘backup oracle directory’ is defined - either in the application or elsewhere? No mater what we’ve tried, we get a ORA-29280: invalid directory path error when the background job executes. We are trying to see how all of the functionality works before defining our process and can’t quite get this last bit to work properly.

External supplier invoice

At least thru the External Supplier Invoice Assistant, you can load an invoice file into multiple companies in one load file id by indicating the company in the Header (H) row in the template and in the file.You then get message that two Load Ids have been created that split the file properly between the two companies - in the below one in company 11 and one in company 13I would imagine you should be able to do this in the method you are using also?

Setting up Lease Accounting in IFS

It seems my issues stem from companies that were set-up on Apps 7.5 didn’t pick up what was needed for the FIXASS module when we went to Apps 10. When I originally updated the company I left the Source Company as it was (13 in the below) which was also migrated from Apps 7.5, nothing updated.I took another look with a colleague and we tried checking the ‘Choose Company Template as Source’ and using the STD template. That worked, and the errors generated during the update were all due to posting controls, etc not yet set-up so were not true problems. I’ve been able to move forward to setting the module up.

GL reversing entries

@svrmhuebner, Your requirement of automatically reversing on next month could be easily achieved through a Simulation voucher. Here when you enable simulation voucher for Voucher type function M and R, M voucher enters on a specific month will be automatically removed in next month using voucher type R ( Here both M and R are enabled for Simulation voucher functionality) Voucher Type R Voucher Type M XavierI wasn’t aware of what a ‘Simulation’ Voucher did either. We have 10 or so different companies in IFS and mainly upload external vouchers instead of typing them in. I added an M and R function group voucher type ticked as Simulation Vouchers as shown here. I see that the “R” function group voucher is automatically created when the M function group voucher is saved in Voucher Entry. When I upload using (from your example) and MX voucher, an XR voucher is not created. Is there a way to get that to work, or will Simulation Vouchers only work through the Voucher Entry screen

Everything about the IFS 10 Lobby.

We have created a Quick Information Source from an IAL view and placed it in the Financials folder. It can be accessed from within the Business Reporter excel add-in tool, but not from the Lobby Datasource Designer. Is there something we need to do to make it accessible in there that we are missing?thxCynthia

Positive pay files

Thanks ThomasIts interesting - in External File Load IDs, then RMB to Details, only the file that processed properly is in there.The error in background jobs on the files that error out is not extremely helpful (to me anyway!)It makes sense that the file is only grabbing checks not previously sent for positive pay, which is what appears to be happening. I’m just trying to figure out if we should be concerned, or report the issue.

Received - Not Yet Invoiced - Clearing of

I have a question on populating the Closed Date on the receipt - I have successfully created an external file load to do this, and tested in our test instance of IFS. Can anyone tell me if populating this field with a file load is acceptable, or is this something that should not be done, even though it can be done?

Populating Closed Date on Receipt using External Files

I agree with and understand the risks and am doing this research with full participation by accounting management - the GL group has already done the work from the GL perspective to manually research/reconcile/account for any unmatched receipts. We are simply looking for a way to now clean up the standard GRNI report so it can be utilized in the ongoing reconciliation process vs. the quick report we have been using that only goes to the PO level, and further levels of line, release, receipt need to be manually researched individually.Any other comments on the technical feasibility of loading the closed date with an external file vs. manually typing it in much appreciated!

Group Consolidation - Code part function Consolidation

As IRituma said, your structure dictates which entities get consolidated with each other at what level.Heavily redacted, but here is an example of a consolidation structure. The items marked withare the ‘consolidation points’, the items that start with numbers are the underlying entities in IFS, then we also have ‘entities’ in group consolidaiton to hold adjustments, but they aren’t truly necessary.

Setup in IFS to generate Positive pay File

I believe you’ll need to set IFS to produce the positive pay file in Payment Documents by checking the Create Positive Pay File box and picking the File Template. - we only do for checks cut, so i don’t know about ACH, but this will get you started: I started with the standard external file template and copied/modified the details to produce the data in the format required by the bank.You define the file name and folder to output to in the template.This is in Apps 10 of course, but must be similar in Aurena?

We don’t use it, but I imagine it work the same as on Suppliers (Which we do use). On this tab you can enter an Expire Date. On Suppliers it prevents further transactions from taking place after the date entered:

External File Definition Validity Issue

If you haven’t yet received an answer - On the Input Files tab, RMB and select External File Template Control to define control statementsHelp specifies:If an external file type consists of more than one record type then it is necessary to define control statements, making it possible to decide the record type that each file line is associated with. The record type then makes it possible find the detail instructions to be used when unpacking the file line.

There is probably more than one way, but if I’m understanding correctly, and you want to get YTD balances in one column, I defined a standard parameter of Accounting year and Accounting Period for the report book:When those parameters are mandatory and populated when the report is ran, you can define the design column based on those parameters when working with the GL balance Info Source

Segregation of Duties - View Access

The only way I’ve found is to write sql queries to pull the data. I’ve used the pres_object_security view to see which permission sets have access to a particular presentation object. Here is an example out of our instance for an area we want to keep secure:

Cannot do Supplier Invoice Matching when Goods are Pending for Inspection

I believe it is how the system is generally designed to work.You should be able to check ‘show all’ when in the ‘match receipts’ dialog and match the uninspected receipts.

That oracle error means that you have a value in your load file that is longer than the field you are trying to load it to. From looking at the two old files above, I’m guessing that you are trying to load the invoice reference into the invoice_id field, along with into the Invoice_reference field and that number is too long for the invoice_id field. I’m also guessing that AMOUNT and AMOUNT_SIGN are two different things

How to External file through a batch process

I did this the long way in external files - made multiple templates from the same file type and input the exact file name as a different value in each template
