Hi there, We are currently using FSM6u10. We are able to attach files to a Task that are synchronised and appear on the tablet. We have a requirement to attach a pack of files as a ZIP. When attaching the ZIP file, the attachment appears on the Mobile FSM App task with a big X.Is it possible to attach and synchronise ZIPS or other non standard file types to a Task in FSM Mobile and save them on to the device for Unzipping.? Is this something that is improved on later versions of FSM? Thank you, Angelo
In FSM 6u16, Can I create a screen in the FSM Customer Portal to search Places and display Place Notes and Attachments? We are building site information using PlaceNotes and Place Attachments and would like to use the Customer Portal to search for places and display the notes and attachments. Is this possible and if so, can I please have a little guidance as to how?
Hi there, We are using FSM6u16 and the Service Desk reports that incorrect spelllings are no longer underlined in red. I have checked the screen designs and the description and Notes fields are ticked for spell checking, yet nothing is underlined. Why is that? I have checked App Params and SPELL_CHECK_TEXT is set to Y.
Hi there, We are using FSM6u16 and would like to use the Schedule board as a way of monoitoring the tasks and not to add / drop / or move the tasks shown on the Schedule Board. I was told of an App Param or some kind of config change that could be made that would prevent tasks from being moved on the Schedule board. I hope that is clear and someone can advise how this is possible. This was shown to me by an IFS / FSM consultant a while back, but I can’t recall how to lock down the schedule board preventing tasks from being accidentally moved.
Hi there, We have a scenario where contractors may call the Service Centre and report back the progress of a particular job. To ensure standardisation of questions and responses I wanted to use a Survey within the Smart Client. I have Surveys working fine on a Mobile Tablet but when we click the Survey button on the Survey Tab an error is returned “No survey matching this request could be found.”I have ensure that I have a Survey set with “Call Center” as the Catagory in the defined survey itself and that the App Param (Request_Survey_Catagory) also has a value of “Call Center”.. What am I missing in order for a Service Desk Operator to be able to complete a Survey via the Smart Client?
Hi there are there any known issues with regards to MS Server updates impacting the Reporting function of FSM6u16? In our Dev environment running Reports and using the Print button worked fine Our servers were patched over the weekend and on Monday running a report or click the Print button returns an error implying that the Reports Path is incorrect.. As I said it was working one day and not the next with the only obvious change being that the server received some updates over the weekend.System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Report file FMS_GTS_0001_Requests_v1_3.rdlc not found. I have a survey that is used as a Dynamic Risk Assessment when the Tech arrives on site. The DRA is completed upon arrival and saved. The tech will carry out the work and capture their notes etc. on the tablet. Our problem is that they may then need to another part of the building to work. Although there were no issues recorded on arrival, something may be identified when moving on to the new location. We don’t seem to be able to go back and edit the DRA Survey as it was saved. Is this because the last set of questions in the Survey was marked as End of Survey? How can we allow the tech to amend a Survey in such a situation?This is on Android FSM6u16 Mobile.Thank you..Angelo
Hi there, It was brought to my attention from our Field Engineers that FSM Mobile Version FSM6u16 does not sync when the Android Device (using Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3) running Android 12. Is there a work around for this? Our Techs work out of data coverage as are underground. They add lots of Notes and Attachments whilst not having data. The device in most cases will screen lock before they are in coverage. This potentially causes issues as the data is not sync’d even though they are now in coverage. Has anyone experienced this and can suggest a solution? Thanks,
Hi there, A requirement came from the business to be able to search for Text_Line Codes, Text_ID (Text Blocks), and Text itself. Using the UI Designer we added to the Task Search Pane the following:Task_Text.Text_Line_CodeTask_Text.Text_IDTask_Text.Text When using these no search results are returned. Can somebody please help and explain why? We implemented very similar capability for Request Notes, so (Request_Text), and this works fine. Why is this not working for Task with specific Notes ???? In IFS FSM, Is there a way of setting up a Request Search and for the list to automatically update. For example a Request Search of any In Progress Requests of a particular type to be left and for the list to dynamically refresh every minute or so? I know a Lobby tile could be used, but I have been asked if this could be done via the Request Search screen? Hope that makes sense. :-) Best regardsAngelo
Our Service Desk logs many different types of Request. At the time of logging, these Req_Types also have Req_Group selected against the Req_Type. How can I restrict what Req_Groups are availabe to select in accordance to the parent Req_Type?Eg.If Req_Type = Fault, the applicable Req_Groups could be “A, B C”.If Req_Type = HSE, the applicable Req_Groups could be “D, E, F”etc. I tried assigning the Req_Group a Parent of Req_Type and then against the relevant Req_Groups added the parent value of “Fault”, but that didn’t work. Could someone please provide a little guidance if this can be achieved. Additionally,I would like to limit the options of Task Status depending upon the Task_Template selected. Is that possible?.
I have created a “Links Element” Lobby Tile in FSM6u10 and would like the link to open Internet Explorer with a URL to an online Cognos Report. The URL I am using in the Custom URL is:-"C:\Program Files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe" http://XXXXXX:81/Reports/B1_Report_Outputs/GTS/CustomerServices/Service%20Centre/BI_GTS_0014_Thales%20Service%20Centre%20Comms%20Cell%20Outstanding-en-gb.mht The above URL works fine in CMD Prompt and opens the required report in IE with no problem at all. If I try this in FSM I get : However if I take out the path to the URL and only include: "C:\Program Files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe" as the Custom URL FSM opens up IE but only to the Home Page. Why am I not able to pass the parameter URL to IE as part of the Custom URL? I hope someone can help me?.. :-)
Hi there, Since upgrading from FSM5.7.2 to FSM6u10, when in the mobile app and selecting to add an attachment the application always defaults to the Root Directory of the device. If the engineer has an organised file structure when attachments are kept they are always forced to navigate through several folders to get to the location. When needing to attach multiple files the app defaults back to the Root folder of the device. This makes it time consuming, tedious and increases the risk of files being missed. Is it possible for the Mobile App to remember the location of the last attached file so that each time the add file attachment is selected for it to open in the last folder and not the Root each time? This was not a problem under 5.7.2 Mobile app. but a change since upgrading to FSM6u10. Thank you.
In FSM6u10, I have created a notification message for Projects. When trying to activate an Android device via an Emulator, it is not downloading the database. We have observed in the SmartClient, that whilst trying to activate the device the “METRIX” user account keeps getting locked out. However, we can’t see any any reference in the Web.Config file (for FSM6u8) but, in out production which is currently on FSM5.7.2, we can clearly see the password in that file. Where is the password setup within FSM6u8? The Android Mobile FSM app seems to be trying to access it with the wrong password as we changed it from the default in our production environment.
In FSM, when I add an email address with an apostrophe to the email field of a distribution list the box has a red border signifying it is an invalid email address. How can I include an email address that includes an apostrophe?Eg, Sarah,O’Brien@gmail,com
Excuse the title it meant to say Field not File.. :-) I was wondering if I could have a little guidance and support?In FSM, I’d like to know how we can monitor a UserDef or existing DTTM field? What we need is that when a particular date entered in the field = the actual date an event can be created? Once the event is created, I know we can pick that up and change the status to whatever it is we need. We have been trying for some time to get the Android Studio emulator with IFS FSM Mobile App installed to initialise. Versions tried FSM6u8 and FSM6u9. Our Dev environment cannot be opened up to the internet therefore, all traffic is internal. Below is where we are at:The emulator successfully connects to the FSM Mobile Web service and allows us to pull down the app via the Emulator Web Browser. The APK is installed and allows the user to enter the credentials and the authenticates. The entry in the Mobile Dashboard shows that the device record is written. During initialisation: The App Server creates all the files needed in the mobiledb as expected. The Web Server stores the files in the Download folder as expected. Finally looking at the emulator, in the Downloads folder all files are marked as “Queued” and never downloaded to the device.My question is, does the completion of the initialisation depend upon the device having access to the internet for some reason? Hi there, It was brought to my attention today that a customer wanted us to send them an attachment that was added to a request. This attachment is a *.atp file type which relates to some test equipment. The app to open this type is not available to the FSM Smart Client end user. How can we save/recover a Request attachment that cannot be opened with a standard app?This is on FSM 5.7.2 and also looked at FSM6u8.Many thanks,
Our FSM FSM6 mobile app will not initialise after the user successfully logs in to the mobile app. The device initialisation goes in to a loop and the logcat suggests that it can’t find the mobile database to download and looking on the Mobile Web server the ‘download’ folder is empty. Can someone please advise which config files the configuration for this is detailed?Many thanks in advance.Angelo
We currently have an FSM tile in a lobby displaying a live Cognos report via a URL point to the report location in an element. I’d like to expand on that and have a much improved visualisation published through our IBM Power BI. I have tried displaying or linking to the Power BI by entering the URL to where PBI is available. Can this be done in a Lobby Element? I have tried but the element tile is just blank/white.
How do we enter different Operators such as “Like” or “Is Null” in the screen data base query, as in the example below? We have tried adding the operators into the XML query directly but these are removed as they are not detailed in the section shown below which appears just before the XML query in the screen metadata. See highlighted bits below. Hi there,FSM6uxWe often fire a notification using the TEXT_LINE_CODE as the trigger to an event that is picked up fires the notification based on that even.We often use a predefined text block as a template that the person creating the note on the SmartClient adds the relevant information to and when saved the Notification message pulls in the Request_Text.Text.The notification message can be formatted using HTML and the Body Format selected = HTML. The outcome is that the content in the Notification message is formatted as required but any Carriage Return or Line Spacing that is in the Note (i.e. Request_Text.Text) is not formatted and ends up being received as a long unformatted string of text. How can I pull in the note content and send it in a formatted way? Many thanks and Best WishesAngelo
