When using migration jobs, it is possible to write files to an OnServer location. We are using IFS23R2 and the available locations (according to dropdown) are: I don't know if these are standard locations.Are these locations somewhere in our Cloud instance?How would one get to the files that are written to one of these? So how to read a file which was created there using the CREATE_OUTPUT_FILE procedure?I've tried to understand the answer of Himasha in:Totally unclear for me what to do. Also it seems that the documentation for IFS23R2 is helpfull for instances on premise, but I'm certain that I am not understanding that as well (see paragraph Formatting): File Configuration - Technical Documentation For IFS CloudAny help is welcome.
A customer of ours is working on an interface between their bespoke HR system and IFS. They have the insert of new employees from their system into IFS up and running. However when a change is done for first or last name of the person (the employee), the response is good (status 200 received), but it can't be seen in the employee file in IFS Cloud.Request is: Involved fields that should change: Although response seems good, customer doesn't see it (also not after refresh of screen).Anybody that encountered this as well (here or with another svc)?
I have troubles finding even base material on how to prepare the security needed to have a 3rd party application using a REST API. First step I want to use is Postman. I know that for the Cloud there is an Outlook add-in. The description of it only refers to document management. I have prepared a file type URL that is prepared for VIEW:I followed the first option in the thread:This option is to prepared a file locally with .url as file extension.I am able to upload and connect the URL to an object, but the view icon is not presented. As I get a similar question multiple times, I thought to write a separate topic on how to use an Excel Migration Job for multiple views. As example I take the creation of a new part in Excel and adding a manufacturer. I know it is a simple example but it is the base for exploration of more functionality. Create a mig job with the following setting: Used views on parts entryOpen the tab Rules Create connection between two viewsThis rule value would be the same as if you prepare an SQL statement that will connect the two views. So if you have a view that has multiple fields to form the external key, all field combinations must be included using a regular ‘and’ construction. There are quite some fields on a master part general tab. I've removed the majority in the spreadsheet by removing the source column in tab Source Mapping: Leave in the fields with a default value. Clearing the Source Column for these fields (as in positions 40 and 60) will result in not showing these columns in Excel
I'm working on a workflow that involves approval steps. At this moment I want to use the approval steps that one can setup per DocMan/Approval Template. I have started of with a rather simple workflow and kept expanding it. Until I hit an error that I just can't put my finger on. When using the flow in the place where it should be triggered, I now get an error: “ETag is incorrect”.I've noticed that ETag is shown at the elements, at least most of them, in the bottom. The help text on ETag goes along the line that one can override it so the flow continues. I've left the override ETag to the default of unchecked. I got the mentioned error message. For a couple of elements that I've been adding lately, I have also tried to use the Override ETag option and turned it on. After deployment I still get the error that the ETag is incorrect.Next was to turn on the network debug of Bing (yes, I did the same in Chrome) and it gives me the following error:Still no clue in this one for me. In order to facilitate the customer I've prepared something I've called the Permission Set Generator. This Excel with some macros will prepare an XML permission set based upon flags per entity set by the key user in a csv (text file). The XML is correctly generated, the XML with the permission set defined can be imported in IFS23R1.However, a Permission Sets Import Log is prepared. In the setup of a master part one is able to connect the part to an assortment. In that form it is possible to include a Classification Part No. In IFS23R1, there is no help text on this.Anyone an idea what the functionality is behind this?
I've been trying to get some workflows up and running in IFS21R2.Followed the training videos in the Academy. I get the example running Tried to set a fields value using a process enrichment, got it running only when using hard coded keys, which is totally not what I want (they should be passed via the event). Also the value was hard coded. Tried to retrieve data and update that using java variable handling. Didn't get it to work I don't even try to think of anything with a loop instruction in the flow.From the training in the Academy only create information is handled.Nowhere is made clear how the information from the triggered record is passed into the Workflow.It is totally unclear, to me, which variables are available from the event in the Workflow (Do I perform a read? Is there a destinction between old:cost and new:cost values if I want to use those from the event? Is the internal key, it seems ETag, available to use? For a new BPA workflow, we automatically get version_1 proposed. It makes sense to create version_2 as cloned version. However the sorting is not of the happy type as we come across the version_10 in the list of available versions (list will show: version_9, version_8, …, version_2, version_10, version_1).Is there a way to change the new version_1 default value to set to A01 or something that will sort the versions better?
When I have one of the repositories open that I have access to, I see the following in one of the scopes:Error is tat there are more than 4 levels in place.Anyone an idea how I can find out which part is causing the 4+ level (5th, 6th, ...) is causing the error. My customer has the following idea: prepare a sales contract in IFS, maybe prepare a base document revision using a macro in DocMan and next export the document to Teams. This allows a multitude of persons that have no access to IFS to update the document, expand it etc.Once ready the document will be checked in into IFS again.What would an efficient process be for this? Couple of LTU related questions: What is for an IFS implementation the option to have LTU users in place? I mean how can we start using LTU? I noticed the description of what LTU users are in the following thread. Do I have it correctly memorized that we will prepare a permission set and IFS will turn it into a permission set to be used for LTU users? I think that for time registration or TripTracker LTU is needed/best. Is that a correct assumption?
