Selection of Routing/Product Structure Alternate while performing MRP/PMRP

Hi Tharindu,Good questions, as it makes us think of the overall behavior of the flow.The nearest answer to your question would the subsequent sequence field that you have. In a scenario where multiple alternates are present.Substitution Sequence Enter the order in which the system should consider the alternate components, if there are several alternates for one component.From MRP or PMRP job there is not setting to select to satisfy your requirement.However, if its Lot Base Structure/Routing. Shop order release issue

Also a more standard process would be to update the structure in the Product structure window. Thereafter you could reflect it in the shop order window by. Right mouse button on header > Update Materials and/or Operations >Update structure Revision and/or Alternate.

Shop order release issue

Question Raised by you - I’ve created a new shop order by following a training doc support. I’ve got the following error message : “Structure Revision is null. Issuing is not allowed”. And during the flow, the following question (Popup) appears : “The shop order is for revision of part XXX-YYY. The location you selected in row 1 have different revision for the part. Do you want to continue?” I’ve answered yes after checking that they are both rev 1. All advices are welcome. Thank you. Structure Revision is null. Issuing is not allowed”. this is received due to an activate structure not been present during the time frame. It could be that you have not added an active structure or related to the shop order need date. Advice to and answer on an overall level would be try to move the need date of the shop order to a date in front. (depends if the shop order is backward or forward scheduling) If you have more questions related to this pls add a document with screen captures.

Shop Order

You could follow the following steps to close the shop order.RMB on the header > Close shop orderIf its related to project:If they are not connected to an activity and you would want to proceed with the flow:After you create the SO's, you have to open the two activities and then run the refresh project connections and run the unfinished work. Once all of this was done, you can complete the project. If the question is related to DOP:User has unpegged DOP Shop Orders, parents and all of the component shop orders. RMB on DOP Order Header to Close, and an Error is thrown “Unable to close due to not closed component DOP OrdersAnswer : Close a Parent DOP Order while it has a Supply Component DOP Order .Leaving a component supply order open while its demand order closed is not a valid situation.So we either has to close all the Supply DOP Orders or select the Option Close/ BranchThen system will close the Supply DOP Orders including the selected DOP Order.

Projec Team Default Access

Hi,The application does not have a feature to facilitate it. For a specific project you could define a project team, where the relevant team members (employees) can be categorized together. Each Team can be given separate access to each sub-project.This would help you satisfy your business requirement. Refer to the below diagram from IFS cloud environment.Notice several Teams can be linked to a single project and several employees can be categorized under a single team. Lot Number

Hi,As Jagath mentioned the limit for Lot batch number is 20.You could test this by going into Create a inventory part [ With lot tracking enabled] Receive inventory part window Try to add the lot batch number, notice the system will not allow you to add more than 20 characters. As seen in my example below the lot batch number 123456789ABCDEFGHIJK (20 characters). This would answer your questions and would verify the answer that is provided. Best Regard, Praveen Wijetunge.

Hello, To answer your question: Its recommended to make any changes to the Material lines through the product structure window. Not adding or changing material lines. Thereafter, reflecting the changes via the Update structure/revision alternate RMB option. This would make sure the changes are reflected in the shop order. It now no longer refers to the project_connection_parent_tab table. refer to solution 293935 for more details on a similar issue.

Modify Start/Stop Time

Hello,As Bjorn mentioned no you would need to consider a modification where a notification pops up when a user tries to modify to prior months. However you would also need to consider the same option been available on Shop Floor Workbench.

Non consumed parts included in capability check

Hi Heshani,The application is designed in a way where the lead times of non-consumed parts are considered for capability check. However, it is possible to exclude parts from capability check by changing the flag in product structure component line from "promised" to "not promised".The value Not Promised will exclude this part and all associated component parts from the Capability Check used within IFS/Customer Orders. Is there a way to make the sourcing for a configured part to be "Invent Order"?

Repair of Purchased(RAW) parts

Hi Hully,For the scenario mentioned by you, the solution would be The application behavior does not allow you to create a Manufacturing/Repair structure type for 'Purchased Raw' parts because the part is created focusing on recipe based manufacturing processes.And since the purchased parts are commonly associated with Discrete manufacturing, the application allows creation of Manufacturing/Repair structure types for 'Purchased Parts'.And even if you change the part type from 'Purchased Raw' to 'Purchased' it doesn't affect the Purchasing or Finance aspect of the business.Best Regards,Praveen Wijetunge

Lead Time setting for parallel-parts(both manufacture & purchase )

Just to add on:If the scenario is as below:In a business case where the application is automatically handling a MFG/PUR split, it would be very helpful if there were two leadtimes used by the application. The MFG split portion should apply the manufacturing leadtime and the PUR portion of the split should apply the purchasing leadtime. They expect the MFG lead-time to be much less than the PUR Leadtime because they could be purchasing components from overseas. Currently there isn't a detailed functionality to have the same part reflecting both these time frames; The given suggestions will have a insight for you to consider: Expected lead time : It would be either the Purchase or Manufacturing Lead time. this value, if manually updated, should represent the total of the component’s supply lead times that are not in stock and/or any other delays in the actual acquisition process as perceived by the user. The above work-around given by Naveena would also be feasible. Regards,Praveen Wije

To get a better understanding of your question, could you confirm that you have used the Manufacturing/Acquired Split functionality ? This would answer your question. However, would like more detailed input in case you have a different scenario.

How back deliver Customer owned material to client.

Hi,I assume this is for a repair part,You could receive the repair component both as Company Owned and customer owned. Once the repair process is finished it could be delivered back to the customer.You could follow a flow similar to below: 1) Create a new Purchased Inventory Part.2) Create Supplier for Purchase Part. Setup Ownership = Customer Owned.3) In Prepare Work Order, create a new Work Order.4) In CO Information tab, setup a Customer.5) In Materials tab, create a line for the Purchased Inventory Part and Ownership = Customer Owned and specify Owner. 6) RMB -> Create Purchase Requisition Line.

OH costs in Product Estimate

Hi Pabasara,Could you calculate the cost in the normal cost calculation process & copy the cost to cost set one. If you mentioned the relevant OH cost bucket that would be reflected in the cost calculation.This cost would be displayed in Estimate window once the cost calculation is run (RMB > Calculate). In a scenario where you would require or rather restrict the Reserve/Backflush to the location specified as Reserved/Issue from Location in the product structure, the following option needs to be selected.Refer to the attachment. Reserve/Issue from: Only specified.Another option would be to limit the backflush to only inbound locations connected to the work center. The material must of course be connected to an operation

How to create revision for multiple Engineering Parts in one go?

No there is no option to select multiple lines and create new revisions. The only alternative functionality would be to right-mouse button and highlight multiple lines go to Engineering Part Revision window. There two you would have to do it record by record.

Estimate Bid Management for Recipes

Estimate Bid Management does not currently work with Recipes only Product Structures. Is this a limitation or can we implement this?This is a known limitation. Could I know why in this scenario your/customer trying to use Estimate Bid Managemen for Recipes, also method customer is currently using ? This would help us suggest an alternative way of working.

Engineering part and manufacturing part

Hi Carole,Yes, this behavior is possible, You can create one Engineering Part record. Thereafter, when creating the inventory part you could select multiple sites. You can go to the inventory part record change the Part type as you wish. You could notice the same Master part would be linked to both the Purchase and Manufactured part in the two Sites
