Hi Laura, The Lease Accounting Functionality in IFS, was introduced mid Application 10 Life Cycle in UPD 3 and slightly improved in UP4 for these specific standards that were jointly written between the two accounting standards boards in question, the US decided to treat operating leases slightly differently, and why IFS needed to have two sets of postings to cater for each. All of the combinations in the IFS Functionality require you to maintain a “Right of Use” Fixed Asset that you maintain alongside the lease liability for the life of the lease leading to the majority of the lease cost (Non Interest Related) to be recorded as a Post EBITDA cost , this is different to how FRS 102 allows you to account as a pre EBITDA costFRS 102 will change in the UK to adopt the principles of IFRS16 in January 2026, therefore I can’t see IFS changing how this functionality works to address a short term difference in accounting treatments, the world is moving towards being unified by IFRS as the maj
Maria is along the right lines with her suggestion, although not payments as she says, the advanced invoice and credit note are ledger items and you can offset them in a mixed payment using a 0 value Customer Payment that you match both the items to.This isn’t my preferred option as you are going to be left with a zero value bank transaction, although you can create a bank account for such transactions like this if you do want to go down the mixed payment route.I would use a Customer Offset to clear the two items off the ledger, but both routes will work.
Hi Ron, The steps you would need to take would be to temporarily issue the existing quantity from stock so that it’s at zero.This allows you to turn on Condition Codes on the Master Part (Part Catalog) record and change the costing method on the inventory part. It will also need to be either serial or lot batch tracked (which makes sense as you need some way of distinguishing the parts of different condition from each other when picking/scraping etc. using “order based” means it will automatically assign lot batch numbers from either the shop order or purchase order dependant on how it’s sourced if it’s not usual for the company to define them.)you can then receive the inventory parts back on at different costs per condition. Finance may then need to deal with any cost balance between the issue and receipts used to reclassify.i.e.I had Qty 200 that I issued at $10 eachI then re-received them at100 @ $10100@$5 for used condition,I’ve got $500 left on the P&L from the M2 and M5 posti

The Payment Method you create is attached to a Payment format.if you want to generate a file to pass into the banking network to do the bank transactions then you would attach to a method that outputs a file (if this is US based then its more common got ACH to be used in a business environment). you need to make sure you chose one that supports the currency or is using a %If you are doing the banking separately (Keying in the transactions in your online banking site as an example) then you can attach to the EMPTY format for complete flexibility 😉RegardsJohn

Hi Deb,Every invoice in IFS (Customer and Supplier) has at least one instalment created at the time of entry, using the setup of the Payment Term. In most cases this instalment will be for 100% of the invoice and thus the instalment date is a mirror of the invoice due date, but you can use a payment term to split the invoice into multiple instalments each with their own due date. I think it will be down to the font. If the font doesn’t support bold characters then report designer doesn’t allow you to to make it bold, I’ve had to get alternative font files and load them into the database to be able to do this.
Hi Roshan, I’ve not set it up for production but I have talked through the concept to quite a detailed level with a prospect. The IFS Finance Connector is fairly robust to handle this if the messaging between the 2 systems is configured correctly.When the financial transactions generate in IFS they go into the hold table, as you set up to use Financial Connector it send’s them out to Oracle/SAP via an XML message and if set up correctly you’ll get a response back from Oracle to confirm the transfer, they will never hit the IFS GL. you will also need to consider the jobs that synchronise Accounts, Code Parts and Currencies Customer and Supplier Invoices can also be sent over to the other Finance System along with jobs to Sync Customers and Suppliers.CheersJohn
Hi Bruce, Application Configuration Packages offer a good way of managing custom objects in IFS, you can package related items and lift and drop them between environments, an apps10 ACP loaded into apps9 for me recently so i assume it will work the other way. you can add commentary and version control to them, storing the source code is then your next choice, it could be as simple as a shared network drive, a sharepoint, or you could go for a code management platform like GitHub, but is probably overkill for this. getting good naming and descriptions of the ACP’s is key to whatever you do. Hi Valerie, you’ve pretty much described in your question their main use, the standard IFS template company posts the project time recording in exactly the way you describe using stat accounts. I also use them to hold non-financial information posting zero value journals to them but with a value in the quantity field. this was I can use this information in my calculations when producing Business Reporter reports for example, if I don’t use full blown HR I might hold headcount by cost centre in a stat accounts opens up a lot of per employee analysis opportunities directly in the GL. Hi - We are looking in Apps 9 to reprint a supplier remittance advice (Supplier Payment) from 3-4 months ago. We Can not find them in Report or PDF Archive. Is it possible? Thanks, Matthew Hi Matthew, I’m not aware of a reprint option, you can only reproduce the report when the payment order hasn’t been completed by re-running the “Repeat-Media Output” option, but this will reproduce remittances for everyone on the run. Going forward there is a few things you could do, you could adjust the report life by adding a report rule, meaning it’s available in the archive longer than the default 30 days (? I think its 30) you could blind copy a J&E Hall mailbox so you retain a copy of the email and remittance sent out. Using the Supplier Payment Analysis Screen you could use a Crystal Report Based Quick Report to replicate what the Standard IFS Remittance looks like. My favoured option would be to look at some technical consulting that attaches the PDF’s created at the point
You can use the pre-built function parameters for returning the current Year and Period Field, apply a filter on your column referencing these parameters for transactions between period 0 and the current period returned.
We are in a similar situation - looking at Cleo, Mulesoft, Boomi, and Informatica. IFS just announced a partnership with Boomi, so I’m looking for more information to find out what that partnership really means. IFS are in the process of developing designated IFS Boomi Connectors, which will make interaction with IFS objects within a Boomi Atom very user friendly, currently you have to use generic technology connectors which cause complexity, when the connectors are released later in the year (fairly soon I believe) it will simplify connecting IFS immensely
No Problem, Yes, you should be able to find Notify Me in the App Store and Play Store, you then need to enable it from the TAS, from memory you can decide on which notifications you want to be sent out as it can be used for Invoice Authorisation, PR authorisation etc as part of the server side configuration. if you’ve got the other apps up and running then turning this one on should be fairly straightforward.
