Change the status to Inactive on the header of the Work Center. This can only be done after it is removed from all open shop orders and all active routings.
It works fine for me….but, and that is a big BUT….It only works off of the lead time for that level, plus the longest cumulative leadtime (not manufactured or expected) for the single component below that level. So you have to have performed the calculation either across the whole site or from each level below the main item and up through the product structure. The problem is that it is the sum of two numbers only. The parent item at the level you are checking and the one other child item at whatever level that happens to be the longest AND has been calculated with the same function. This to me is a wholly useless calculation - thus the reason we don’t use it - because what you really want (or are expecting) is that it is the leadtime of each level summed up through the entire structure, but that isn’t how the calc works. So...it does work for me (V9 UD13), but it isn’t what I expect or want, so don’t use it.
The side effect of setting the Picking Time on the site >0 is to effectively reduce the scheduled due date by that number of days for every single order. If the intention is to artificially force all due dates to be two weeks earlier than they really are, then changing that setting to 10 makes sense. However, it means that you are telling IFS you can never deliver orders in less than 10 days. That is what the setting forces, a minimum due date that is always at least 10 days from today or if you schedule the other way around, setting it by a picked date, then IFS is always going to tell you that you are already late. You are working against the natural flow of dates within IFS and unfortunately as we tell all our users and planners, when you drive against the normal flow of dates in IFS, IFS will bite back. In the standard manufacturing module, I don’t know of a standard disassembly process. In maintenance and repair, there is the possibility of doing something like this with customer goods, but that isn’t the same as your need. I would suggest rather than doing counting (which affects counting statistics and other affects), you would create a Finance Project to first issue (using Issue Inventory Part) out the finished assembly to allow capturing the full cost of the item, then receive in the component parts at whatever level you want to restock them (using Receive Inventory Part). In this way, any cost differences between the finished product (labor) and the component parts only - which you will always have - will be properly captured. In fact, one could argue that there is additional labor to be accounted for in the disassembly process, but that is a further complication that is best absorbed by overhead expense I think rather than attempting to apply as expended labor.
You don’t want or need the Copy Approval Template RMB function - that will only create a new template - it doesn’t get you any further to performing the approval on a particular document. What you want to select is New - to create a new document and in the Document Revision, assign the previously created Approval Template to that Document Revision. Then you will be able to Start the Approval Routing according to the Approval Template.
The customer reference field on the invoice has to be populated (which comes from the appropriate comm method), but this does not populate automatically. Someone has to have filled it in. Check your invoices, I bet this field is blank for all of them. It would also mean that it wasn’t populated on the customer order originally either.
Are you referring to setting up a Payment Schedule for a Purchase Order to pay a supplier in advance? Or make progress payments based on passage of time or upon request but prior to receipt of goods?
Our PO prints can show up to 4 lines of text per PO line on the report Part Description (from Purchase Part) Supplier Part Description (from Supplier for Purchase Part) Manufacturers Description (from Manufacturer Part connected to Master Part) Document Text from Purchase Part If the text isn’t there, the value doesn’t print or is blank. I would check the fields on the report itself which should give a clue where they are picking up the data. Either that or look at the part in question at all of the places I mentioned and see if you can find the text entered somewhere along the way.
We are going live in the US with an interface from Documation this week - we have been using them in the UK for a couple of years now. We looked at Pagero and went all the way with vetting and specification of design to ready to place a PO with them before they changed the terms for price per scan and some other things so we dropped them and started all over again with Documation. Everyone on both sides is reasonably happy with them.
You have to do at least one period per year which will fix all periods for that year for that company. But otherwise, yes, no easy way. Each company has to be handled separately as does each voucher series and as I mentioned at least one period updated which in my experience then cascades to the other periods for that year. We came across this problem this year as we ran out of Voucher Series entries since our IFS inception. We don’t want to go too far in the future, but don’t want to update every year either, so we’ve set it as a 5 year task to generate the next 5 years after a finance review.
The available quantity on IPAP considers the Availability Control if the setting is non-nettable as I assume your quarantine one is set to. The available quantity on IPIS is only the On Hand minus Reserved and doesn’t consider the Availability Control. Some of these are Nettable Availability Controls while others are Non-Nettable, but you’ll notice all are simply On Hand minus Reserved = Available for that location IPIS Overview
That just means that pMRP won’t be doing the work, but MRP does all the work for DOP requirements. It doesn’t say it is incompatible with pMRP, it just merely means that pMRP will not manage the requirements and changes. You would need to run pMRP and then MRP.
You would need to have separate customer accounts setup for each delivery point - they are indeed a unique customer. If the invoicing were then needed to funnel to a single entity but be separated by the delivery point, you would use the invoicing customer field on each customer to tie back to the main customer account.
No….they are intentionally a non-secure item that can’t be restricted or controlled. They should not be part of a business critical process in my opinion. They should be treated as they are designed, a sticky note that can fall off, be changed, or deleted by anyone at anytime. They are not for history, searching or anything that should hold business value.
There is no way to answer this question without details of the posting. It is either a data entry error, posting control setup error, or could possibly be a bug. No way to know from just an error message.
But the question is how big is “big”? Big is when you notice that your backups are taking too long or there are other performance issues related to the size of the database. We ran with documents stored against the database until the application had more than doubled in size and the backups were become problematic due to length, then we transitioned to an ftp repository for the documents. We’ve noticed no significant disadvantages with this move.
True, but if you carry the Shop Order all the way to saved and planned and don’t put anything into those fields, the cft record doesn’t get created. I didn’t see it created until I actually entered a value, but I didn’t try changing the default on the custom field either. Probably another case of multiple ways IFS does the same thing and not consistent between them.
Sometimes the lack of response is the answer, just not the one you seek. Even though you feel it is a simple aim, the complexity of attempting to describe it belies how simple it is….it isn’t. Nor is there likely a solution to what you are attempting to do within the framework of the tools you’ve chosen to manage the demand and need dates. It seems to me what you are attempting to achieve actually requires an entire different methodology - called DOP i- f you really want to keep strict alignment of dates all the way to the lowest level. That isn’t a solution that can be handled or described within the context of a forum post, rather it seems it would require a serious half day discussion with a Planning consultant on the merits of one methodology versus the other.

Review the Payment Schedule function within the Procurement Module. This is a fully functioned process to authorize a down payment, full payment or scheduled payments prior to actual receipt of goods. It allows processing Supplier Invoices without a receipt match initially, but later after receipt and closure of the PO, it will allow update on a Final processed invoice that will show the three way match after the fact. There is a good bit of information in the help to guide you at the start.
I suppose correct is a bit subjective, it depends on what your quality process dictates. For us, we register the inspection results and if there is a problem, the inspector then raises an MRB case with associated Availability Controls to isolate the inventory and prevent possible use. From a manufacturing perspective, this is an important first step and then begins the process to action, correct, or dispose of the part. There are also financial transactions to deal with if there is a credit or rework associated with the return processing of the part to the vendor. All of these things don’t get dealt with from the NCR perspective. In my opinion, the NCR is a good secondary step after all of the manufacturing, inventory, and finance concerns have been dealt with as a way to formally document the problem back to the Supplier. For each internal Supplier, you have to setup the Invoice Type on the Invoice Tab The last I tested this - we don’t used the Auto Invoice currently, but in testing, I had Default Invoice Type - Automatic set to AUTSUPPINV.
Depending on what you hear them call it - IFS 2020, New Business Platform, or previously Evergreen, the last I was told by sales it is slated for first release Dec 2020. It will definitely not have IEE, only Aurena. V9 - IEE only V10 - IEE and Aurena IFS 2020 - Aurena only
Do you have an alternate unit of measure defined for the part? You have to setup the Input UoM Group on the inventory part, then at Register PO Arrival, you can select the Input UoM Group and a dialog box will open to allow entering the additiona UoM info. There is pretty detailed info in the help on accessing the input UoM from various order views (customer, shop, etc).
