Missing Analysis Results after Update 14 applied

Hi,You could check to see if the data is shown in the ‘Result - Number’ field.This may need to be enabled using the Column Chooser option. It looks like the same value should be shown in both fields.The ‘Result - Number’ field allows you to do advanced searches on the Results data which is not technically possible in the ‘Result’ field.

Supplier forecast report for raw materials and components

Hi,If you are using MRP to create purchase requisitions, some of our customers use the Purchase Requisition Lines screen as the source of any supplier forecast data.Typically you would then filter by Supplier, Date Range, Products, etc. and either export the data into Excel using Output Channels or develop a Quick Report which uses this data.I hope that this helps.

Safety Stock Analysis Tools available

Hi,I would recommend looking at the IFS IPR (Inventory Planning and Replenishment) functionality as this provides support for calculating and maintaining Safety Stock levels (including Time Phased Safety Stock) based on different Demand Models and Safety Stock models. It also includes an integrated IPR Calculation Results spreadsheet which allows you to analyse the calculation inputs and outputs and perform simulations. Object connections to Quality Audit Screen

Hi,Use AuditObjectConnection^Audit Management AuditObjectConnection^ Enables connecting existing quality audits and adding new quality audits through the Create Audit Assistant, for the specific object. It is possible to view the object connections directly from the Connected To tab in the Audit window. Audit object can be connected to a specific IFS business object via the Object Connections window. When connected, it can be viewed from both the Audit window Connected To tab and the Object Connections window Attachments panel.

Backup Path - Demand Plan Server

Hi,You should be able to manually enter any backup path that you like in this field depending on where you want the backup files to be stored.The idea is that you can then load the data from the backup file directly into the Demand Plan Server if required.

Using Control Plans for regular testing

Hi,I think this would be possible, and it would work something like this … (note the data in the screen shots would be your ‘Battery Recharge Test /Reminder’ task) 😊If the batteries exist as inventory parts with a quantity on hand, you could use an Inventory Control Plan and set up a schedule to automatically generate analysis results on a periodic basis (e.g. Run every week, at midnight, on a Tuesday) When the scheduled task has run (as a Background Job) an Analysis Result will be generated and you can fill in the result of the ‘Recharge Task’ to confirm it’s been done. The reminders/work-to list could be set up as a saved search or Lobby element using this screen as the basis Alternatively, you could consider using Work Orders (Planned Maintenance Tasks) or maybe create the Batteries as Manufacturing Tools which require ‘Calibration’ (Recharging) on a periodic basis.In all cases, the system can provide a schedule / work-to list / reminders.Good luck!

Error while running MRP- Background jobs

Hi,Try looking at the Calendar ID which is mentioned in the error message.Is the status = ‘Generated’?If so, look at the date range of the calendar as it may need to be extended.The Order No mentioned in the message is important - if it is a Shop Order, look at the dates - are they within the calendar date range?Good Luck!

Shop order material lot number tied back to a receipt

Hi,Try looking at the Inventory Part Origin Tracing screen.You can search for the part number / lot batch number / serial number of the manufactured part and view any sub-assemblies or purchase orders associated with it. Select RMB to view the Transaction History, Source (Purchase Order) or Inventory Part Usage Tracing (shows everywhere that the purchased lot batch was used) If you want to create a report, use the Part Origin<tab> as the basis

Hi,There’s probably no need to use data migration. The standard functionality provides ‘Phase Out or Replace Structure Component’ functionality for this purpose.Just make sure you have ticked/un-ticked the required check boxes and if in any doubt, try to run some tests in a test database first!Good Luck

shop order priority will effect on MRP proposal action?

Thanks for your feedback. We did not use APB and CBS as it is not apply for. If this priority can not be effected on MRP proposal action. does IFS have another field or function to be set up to limit MRP action, like some PO/SO do not want to be proposed when MRP run? please help to advise. Thanks Susan Hi,Apologies for the delay.It isn’t really possible to restrict or limit the MRP actions that are generated when a part is planned by MRP, but you could use saved searches or the MRP Action Proposal Workbench (MRP Message Filters) to restrict what proposals the user actually sees.So you would just let MRP create the proposal actions but you wouldn’t then act upon them (so in other words, you would ignore them).Obviously you would need to understand the implications of ignoring the messages as demand and supply may not then be in balance.Alternatively, you could consider using a different planning policy for the parts if you don’t want MRP to plan them.

shop order priority will effect on MRP proposal action?

One more relative question is when MRP proposal action, is it possible to have it be rescheduled per SO enter date sequence for the same Semi-FG item? Thanks Hi,If I understand the question correctly, the rescheduling capability is there for existing Shop Orders if you want accept the new dates proposed by MRP (see screenshot).This will need to be actioned for each Shop Order where there is Late Order / Early Order action proposal. Otherwise, it is possible for IFS APB (Advanced Planning Board) to automatically schedule all of the Shop Order Operations for the Semi-Finished Items based on the date sequence (but I know that you are not using that functionality) 🙂

MRP Planning Forecast

Hi,Typically, MS Level 1 will be used to create Shop Order Requisitions for the finished goods (based on the forecast from Demand Planner). These requisitions can then be converted into Shop Orders by your planner. The MS Level 1 calculation will consider forecast demand, actual demand, projected on hand and open supply orders when it creates the proposals. Actual demand consumes the forecast so there is no duplication of demand.These demands will then be ‘seen’ by MRP which is typically used to plan for the sub-assemblies (shop order requisitions), purchased components and packaging (purchase requisitions).I hope that this helps.

MRP Planning Forecast

Hi,No, I don’t think it will work like that. The MRP calculation will take the gross requirements for the finished products (planned by MS Level 1) and create the corresponding supply proposals/action messages for the sub-assemblies and components.I don’t really understand why you would only want MRP to look at forecast when the actual demands may be for larger quantities.Perhaps you could provide a more detailed example of the business case / scenario you are trying to support just in case I have misunderstood anything.Thanks.

Inspection prodcutparts in arrival

Hi,It sounds like you should investigate the ‘Acceptance Sampling’ (AQL) which is part of the IFS Control Plans functionality (see screen shots below); In terms of an Action Plan to deal with defects, this could be achieved using the IFS MRB functionality (link to the source Shop Order or Inventory Part in Stock record) or otherwise IFS NCR (Non Conformance Reporting). In both cases these would act as an umbrella for you to plan and manage the Inspection, Disposition and Correction activities.You can also create an IFS CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) to help determine Root Cause Analysis if required. MRP Planning Forecast

Hi,Thanks for the additional information.Perhaps we could look at updating this field on the ‘old’ customer order lines as a quick interim solution?This will remove the demand from MS, MRP, etc.It would be possible to update customer order lines en masse in this screen using the Find and Replace functionality. Do you think that could work?

Hi,In standard IFS functionality where the base flows use the view IFSAPP..COMB_EXT_INV_PART_ISSUE_PUB, the Customer Order Lines need to be ‘Delivered’ (OESHIP Transaction) in order to show in this view.I hope this helps..

Hi,Yes, the IAL (which the base flows will point to) can only contain historic transactions. This is the data which Demand Planner uses when it creates the statistical future forecast.If you want to import forecast, you could take the Business Opportunity forecast data and import it using the import job referenced in my previous post.I hope that this helps.
