Page Configuration ACP Export readable?

IFS Cloud offers Page Configuration to (mainly) hide tabs, sections and fields not relevant for a customer. This Page Configuration can be stored in an ACP and exported to be saved outside IFS as a backup and to deploy to other environments. It would however be good if this backup would also be available in a readable format, to be able to re-apply the Page Configurations when running into issues (for example after SU/RU and rebasing). Anyone who knows how to convert the ACP export format (XML/JSON?) to Excel?

Greenfield & Rebase Client Configurations: IFS R&D help needed

When there are many page configurations (and it is logical to have quite a few), every SU and RU will require a painstakingly manual process of rebasing. When will there be improvents to make this less work and less error prone?

Off loading documents from IFS Application Database

Any advice on following question:Company currently stores documents in the database (App9 managed cloud). Due to the number and type of documents (many work order connected photo’s) the database has grown to 4 TB! Without the documents DB size is < 1 TB. Because of an upgrade to IFS Cloud we need to shrink the database before migrating and question is: how can we off load the current documents?(With IFS Cloud we will use Azure File Storage, or any other storage ouside the IFS database)@Mathias Dahl: any advice from your side would of course also be very welcome 😀

How is AI actually embedded in IFS Cloud?

On the IFS website there is a page on AI which sayswhen I look further there is exactly nothing (except 1 specific customer case) on AI.How is IFS.ai the backbone for ERP, EAM, FSM and ITSM?

How to create a GS1 barcode for a report layout?

GS1 by GDSN is a standard for barcodes, but there is comprehensive logic involved to create such a barcode (and then use on for example a Delivery Note). Does IFS have any business logic build in to create a GS1 barcode or do we need to develop the code behind it ourselves?

Archive media items is available in 21R2, but no longer in 22R2?@Mathias Dahl would you know about this?( I know Media items are not part of DocMan, but I couldn't find any “Enterprise” topic ...)

Hash code (in banking files to prevent fraude)

IntroductionHashcode is a fixed length code that can be used to verify integrity. An algorithm known as hash function can be used to create hash codes on messages/files. Ideally, these algorithms have several unique properties. Not reversibleIt is impossible to generate a message o a hash code. Hash functions are known as trap doors because they only go one way from message->hashcode Avalanche effectSmall changes in a message lead to a big change in the hash code. Hash collisionIt is extremely unlikely that two messages will generate the same hash code. Should this happen it is known as hash collision. Now my questions:Customers/Partners: Has anyone implemented this hash coding (e.g. for exporting bank statements)? IFS R&D: Is there or will there be functionality in IFS to support hash coding?

How does IFS Cloud determine Lobby Pie chart colours?

IFS seems to automatically assign colours to Pie charts. Result in our example with Delivery Reliability is that the largest number of records (On time) is red and the lowest (late) is green! Not really what a user would expect :-( Any plans to make the pie colour settings adjustable?

How to order an IFS Cloud sandbox?

In the past customers could get a 90 day trial version with an IFS Applications Race database. Is that option also available for IFS Cloud?Background: Apps9 customer has plans to upgrade and their super user / application management team would like to play around with IFS cloud already.

IFS Cloud new database parameters and settings?

When a new customer environment is created, it starts with an “empty” database. Except, the database is not empty, because there are all kind of default settings, parameters, and basic data (like languages, Unit of measure etc.) already delivered. Is there any documentation on the content of a new database?

Inventory Part Planning information overview?

I would like to have an Inventory Part overview window with columns like:Site Part Code Part Description Planning Method Safety Stock Lotsize etc.Does IFS Cloud have such an overview or do I need to create a Quick Report or likewise to view this information?I know there is MRP Part Information, but that is a 1 record window and not an overview

Inventory Part Status best practice?

When working with Inventory Part statusses there are basicly 2 options:Use a minimum number of statusses based on the possible combinations of settings. For example:Encode the different departments in the status so you know who at any moment is responsible (when creating new parts or updating them)Any comments on how this is done are welcome :-)

How to work with fixed manufacturing lead times?

IFS has a lead time on the Inventory Part, but the moment there is a Shop Order with Operations, this prevails when it comes to lead time calculation. As this might seem logical, it is not. Many companies use fixed lead times per Part and this is now not possible in IFS. Why not have an extra setting on the Inventory Part in which you can choose? And in between should be the option to have fixed/minimum lead time per operation. So in the end we would have a hierarchy:Use fixed lead time per Part Use fixed lead time per OperationIf none of these 2 settings is true, use operation calculated lead time.

Visual Shop Orders Planning should navigate to "Shop Orders" instead of "Shop Order"

In the Manufacturing Visualization in IFS Cloud (21R2) there is a button to navigate to Shop Order. This should either be "Shop Orders” or even better, be able to configure.

Traceability during Part Life Cycle (R&D vs Manufacturing)

During R&D phase Parts are created and manufactured as prototype. In this phase there is no need for tracing (like serial numbering).After approval by the customer, the part will need to be setup for production and some parts need to be set to serial tracked. This however is only possible when there is no inventory and no orders which is almost impossible to achieve because prototype orders are still running.So, the question is: How should IFS Cloud be configured during the part life cycle when it comes to the Master Part Traceability settings?

Keeping Supplier Materials as Customer Consignment

IFS Company customer wants to make sure that materials from IFS Company supplier are available for their products and therefore:IFS Company buys the materials and invoices them directly to the customer (with some charge for administration and stock keeping). When delivering a product that includes this material, the invoice price must be corrected for the material used (after all, this has already been paid for by IFS Company Customer).Anyone out there having implemented this requirement?When IFS Company customer would buy these materials and make them available to IFS Company, this might work with Customer Owned Parts, but IFS Company customer doesn't want to be involved like this

Deleted Document Files backup

The maximum period for the database backup in managed cloud seems to be 14 days. When there is a need to have access to (accidently) deleted Document files for a longer period, would that be possible.It is about the actual files connected to Document Revision(s) when IFS is used as a DMS.

Print CMR via Word (to be able to add notes before printing)

Anyone having experience with printing a CMR via Word?The CMR has a fixed layout with many fixed data elements, but often customers want to add notes just before printing. This is not possible in IFS without a modification (not in Apps and not in Cloud, please correct me if I'm wrong).Would it be possible to design the CMR in a Word template and fetch the data from IFS Cloud?Example of CMR in attachment

How to stop all work for a customer ?

It sometimes happens that you don't want to allow for any new work for a customer. IFS offers some standard functionality by means of statusses and checks, but this does not cover all situations. It is then for instance still possible to create costs on a project for a customer. Any ideas how to implement a "Customer Kill Switch” ?

Location Address field length

IFS offers an Address Setup in which the field length of the address fields can be changed. The fields are 100, by default limited to 35, but these can be changed. However, there seems no Address Setup for the Location Address. And the Addres1 field in the Location Address is per default 35 and this is too short for some street names in the Netherlands. Anyone ran into this issue and suggestions how to solve it?

To reduce the number of different software systems, we would like to replace (best of breed) credit management system OnGuard with IFS Credit Management. Has anyone done this succesfully?
