Detailed contribution margin in the case of drop shipping

Hi folks,we created the last 3 years a very detailed logic for the contribution margin.Therefore we fetch Shipments, ShipmentLines, ITH records with detailed costs for manufacturing, purchase, subcontrating, etc, etc.We combine that in a FACT_CustomerOrderLine and have 3 different contribution margins calculated.Now we have a “new case”.Drop shipping: The product goes directly from the supplier to our customer.We have a customer order. We have an ITH record with TRANSACTION_CODE PODIRSH.By the way: What does that mean?Now: I can not find any Shipments to this customer order and guess for drop shipping you don’t have to create a “normal” shipping.My questions are:Is it possible to create a (pseudo) shipment even in this special case?What kind of shipping you recommend?Any other ideas?Does anyone here came across drop shipping before? List of ORACLE database object names

Hi database gurus,I work with the data structure in IFS for more than 20 years now.The last days I came across xxx_MV tables and wonder if there is a documentation of databaseobjects and the structure of what meaning do the single part of the names have.TMP = temporary, CFT = custom field table, CFV = custom field view, _TAB at the end of most tables in the ORACLE DB is easy.LOV = list of values, ok but I’m not shure why the IFS developers sometimes use this suffix in the table name, sometimes not. When you use “base data” every thing could be a “list of values”.Especially I’m looking for a meaning for the xx_MV tables today.Thanks in advance and have a nice day.Cu in the communityMichael

Connection between View and GUI

Hi everybody, to gain information about underlying structures in IFS is quiet simple! Just Debug or use systeminfos and - voilá - the view(name) is clear. But imagine you lay hands on a QuickReport with - let’s say - 3 Views and you want to go the other way. Is there an easy way to see where a structure (Oracle View) is used? There must be some connection because, if we enhance IFS with customized fields and use _CFT and _CFV structures instead the original structures, there must be a certain point where to tell IFS: “now use View X instead of Y” Looking forward to hear from you. Incremental load of INVENTORY_TRANSACTION_HISTORY_TAB

Hi folks,after 15 months of IFS live the ITH is up to 3.4 Mio records.That takes around 30 minutes to fetch all the data from ORACLE into MS SQL Server.I would like to load the data incremental.So the questions are:Is a ITH record fix the moment it is created or could it be changed?Is the TRANSACTION_ID “ongoing”, so we could be shure, the last (maximum)is the latest in a row? If so, I can easily fetch max(TRANSACTION_ID) from destination and use this as a filterfor the ORACLE fetch SQL command.Many thanksMichael

Field COST in CustomerOrderLines. Where does it comes from?

Hi experts,as mentioned, we are extremly deep into IFS datastructures.Yesterday we got an extraordinary case.Old customerorder (with wrong customerno), shipments, storno, rma, than a new customerorder but without new shipmentlines.We learned (and implemented) the following.The moment a shipment takes place an ITH (Inventory Transaction History) record is created withTransactioncode OESHIP.This record holds all the information about cost types, like purchase, subcontracting, manufacturing, and so on.We get all this information, summ it up to TotalCostManufacturingITH and compare it with TotalCostManufacturing which is the field COST in the table CUSTOMER_ORDER_LINES.Now the following question:How does IFS “knows” about costs and where does the value in the field COST comes from, even if there are no ShipmentLines (where a specific Lotbatch with specific coststructure) is fetched?Have a nice day!best RegardsMichael

Invoiced Purchase Orders versus Manual Supplier Invoice

Hi everybody,starting with Procurement > Order > Analysis > Invoiced Purchase Orders we can hop via RMB (Supplier Invoice Entry) to Financials > Supplier Invoice > Manual Supplier Invoice We checked the underlying structures and found:a) VIEW PURCHASE_ORDER_INVOICE with Table PURCHASE_ORDER_INVOCE_TAB (POI)b) VIEW MAN_SUP_INVOICE with underlying INVOICE_TAB (I) VIEW MAN_SUP_INVOICE_ITEM with underlying INVOICE_ITEM_TAB (II)(filtered by rowtype like ‘%ManSuppInvoice’) Now we are woundering what the “way of data” is:Is IFS starting with I + II and “shiping” data to POI?When comparing with Sales we found InstantInvoices and Manual Customer Invoices as well. Diving into this structure we found OUTGOING_INVOICE_QRY, than OUT_INVOICE_UTIL_INV_HEAD_PUB and below the INVOICE_TAB again.So is the PURCHASE_ORDER_INVOCE_TAB just “luxus”?Or is there a deeper meaning we are not aware of?Will we find every SupplierInvoice in I and II and (!) Active WorkOrder becomes Historical WorkOrder

Hi folks,my customer asks about OEE and they want to see work orders within ShopFloorClockings.I compared the following tables with sub-selects:ACTIVE_WORK_ORDER_TAB (AWO)(under view ACTIVE_SEPARATE_UIV under IFS mask “Prepare Work Order”) HISTORICAL_WORK_ORDER_TAB (HWO)(under view: HISTORICAL_SEPARATE_UIV)No WO_NO from one table is in the other table!Conclusion: Data from AWO will be transfered into HWO (guess: when Finished)Just want to know, if my table-focused view match your experience?Guess:An Active WorkOrder will be transfered into Historical WorkOrders when finished?Right?All the bestMichael

Hi,for external (QlickView) security reasons we need the following format in the DIM_Employee/DIM_Person in the datawarehouse.FirstCharacterSurName+LastName. Like MKAISER (michael.kaiser@company.de)While I’m in the IFS maskSolution Manager > Security > Users > Create UserI will see IDENTITY and Database ID: with the formatting above.The System Info stays empty and the debug console don’t show anything.So any hints, in which View/Table I can find an PERSON_ID and DATABASE_ID in one row? WORK_SCHED_ASSIGN2_REP - Personal Schedule as HR "plan data".

Hi folks,I have the task to model a HR - cube with some fact data.One of the questions is:How many hours a day a given person are “planned” or “normal workday” time?The customer showed me the report “Personal Schedule” and I created some example data.The report will give me explicit what I need: This is the form of “plan” data I need.EmpNo, Date, From, To, (Plan) Hours.Later on I can compare the “plan” with the actual hours, like booked hours, even sick leave, customer visits, etc.I traced the report to INFO_SERVICES_RPT and found the data the report is using. I learned that RPT Tables are only for temporary data used for a specific report and are cleaned afterwards.So is there another structure the report is fetching the data into the INFO_SERVICES_RPT?Or is there a “master calendar”?Hmm, I just checked on legal holiday like “Eastern” I saw that this personal schedule just show a normal work day.Any hints are highly welcome.all the best and stay safe. PaymentTerms how to calculate discount?

Hi folks,long time since my last topic here.I’ve got an interesting scenario here.My customer want to calculate the payment discount into the profit margin.I will find a PAY_TERM_ID in the CUSTOMER_ORDER_TAB.I hop to PAYMENT_TERM_TAB and will find the description.In PAYMENT_TERM_DETAILS_TAB is the field NET_AMOUNT_PERCENTAGE and inPAYMENT_TERM_DISC_TAB I will find DISC_PERCENT.So, if we expect that our customer will “draw” 2 % discount (Skonto) within first 15 or 30 or what so ever days we can calculate SalesPrice - 2% discount results in minus 2 % less profit margin.Now the problem:When I scan the PAYMENT_TERM_DISC_TAB I will find discount for a PT like“8 days 3%, 21 days net” so the 3 %”.But also I will find:“Prepayment 5%, 14 days 3%, 60 days net” and two (!) records in the PAYMENT_TERM_DISC_TAB My question:How could we decide/see, is it payment discount or prepayment?Thank you for sharing your experience! Connection Customer Order to SLA

Connection PurchaseOrderLine to SupplierInvoice

Hi experts out there,hope that everybody is fine, healthy and stay at home? :-)Again we are developing a BI solution for a german customer.These weeks we’ve done a POC (proof of concept) with Purchase Data.No problem to create a FACT_Purchase_Order_Lines(POLs) conected to the 3 different (aggregated) RECEIPT tables. We build the STAR Schema and now we see all the POLs with detailled information from Supplier and Purchasepart.Now we want to see - say PO 1000, Pos 1, Part A, orderd for QTY 100, Amount 1000€ -what kind of Supplierinvoices are there on the “incoming” side.It is no problem to create a standalone FACT_Purchase_Invoice_Lines based on INVOICE_TAB (PARTY_TYPE = ‘SUPPLIER’) and INVOICE_ITEM_TAB.In the manual supllier invoice are some interesting fields, we checked out in the INVOICE_ITEM_TABPARTY_TYPEPO_LINE_NUMBERPO_REF_NUMBER Alias PO Ref:PO_RELEASE_NUMBERand see the purchase order number in PO Ref.What we miss:The 1:1 granularity from PurchaseInvoiceLine (PIL) to POL.The t
