Background:We at Electrolux implementing IFS FSM as our Field Service Management platform including FSM Mobile App for Field Service Technicians. Currently using FSM6u10. Requirement: I, as a service technician, want to be able to record spare parts I consumed/used on a consumer/customer site by simply scanning the barcode on the spare part packet, instead of manually typing the long 14 digits part id.Questions: Is the FSM Mobile App only supporting the Barcode Scanning functionality with a 3rd party free open source app for Android? Since the 3rd party app is no longer supported by original developers, how in future IFS would provide warranty support for the 3rd party open-source app since FSM product documentation doesn't specify if the 3rd-party software is supported i.e., maintenance support covered by IFS in case of product upgrades, android upgrades, etc. so to ensure the barcode scanning functionality continue to work. Hi Experts, I’ve come across an issue where customer is having problems with Web client and Tech portal (It’s the only web client portal they use) and it is showing Http 500 error. Customer has FSM6U9 and they have implemented this on a new server for UAT testing.We have confirmed that they have installed “dotnet-hosting-3.1.12-win.exe” and other runtimes. We have checked if there are any IIS errors on the Windows event viewer and there aren’t any. Problem is ,even when we try to access web client from IIS manager itself using browse application option, it still shows this Http 500 error which means localhost doesn’t work for any web client. However their smart client is working fine.What are the possible causes for this ? What needs to be checked further ? Quick reply would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance !!!
In FSM6 Update 25, a new enhancement has been added to reduce the messages being extracted between FSM Server and Mobile. What is the logic that determines “If an update message from FSM Server is not relevant to any of the fields used in FSM Mobile designs?”The name of the new app param indicates that the logic may only be checking if a field exists on a screen in the mobile client. What about other field changes that are not on a screen but are used in logic to determine behavior? For example, a client script could select user_def25 from the mobile database, but if that field is not on a screen, an update on the server will not be sent down to mobile.
We would like to create a notification business rule that is triggered when someone changes the server log level settings. To create this rule we need to know the table (and column) that is being changed but so far we have not been able to determine the name of the table. Anyone happen to know the table?
I am looking for a way to send an XML perform batch through Postman to the M5 service rather than using the FSM Utilities tool (since Postman has some extra features that are really helpful for troubleshooting and testing). Has anyone found a way to use Postman to successfully post messages?I see that the utility tool uses WCF or REST, but after doing some research I found that WCF REST is different than the former two and may potentially allow HTTP GET and POST functions to work with the XML perform batch via enabling WebHttpBinding class.Has anyone used Postman to send an XML perform batch to the M5 service or something similar?
I am trying to check the route of the Person from home base to first Task. Lat/long is set on Person an d Task related Place record, address is correctly set with Lat/long. But still route is not getting plotted between Person to First Tasks. But, when I assign second task to same Person, route is visible. Is this the right behaviour or someting is missing to be configuered Between Resource and Tasks no route is plotted Between two tasks route gets plotted
In our business model service engineers can pick billable parts from warehouses managed by FSM and give it to the customer in service location.The part needs is managed in FSM with task templates.What we expect is:Before assigning an activity PSO must check the part needs in the activity, check the availability in a warehouse where service engineer can pick part from, and finally assign the activity to the correct service engineer. is that possibile ? How we have to configure person and places in FSM and what in PSO ?In case in which we have to configure the van stock of service engineer equals to the warehouse (in order to let pso to check availability) is possible to configure FSM Mobile App to not show the stock of the entire warehouse but only the real van stock of service engineer ? thanks and regardslf
A customer wants to audit function for all key columns in all tables, which they believe will cause performance issues. From the help screen under Audit/Extract in the smart client, it states;"The audit process records information you specify and stores it in a table named metrix_audit that you can access with any program that can access your database. This information is transactional in nature; it includes the person who made the change, the time and date of the change, the type of change, the table and field changed, and so forth.You can create as many audit sets as you need. You must create a set for each FSM table you want to audit.”Even though it says that you can create as many audit sets as you need, can we assure the customer that they will not have performance issues?
Hi Team , One of our customer reported an issue saying stock changes randomly in stocks and task screen Initially it was 104, then after two minutes it is 40 then after few minutes its 86 after three to four minutes it is back to 104base line sync ruleI checked the server logs when it is replicating couldn’t find any obvious behaviors Customer also having similar query in sync rule but their frequency is 1 instead of 24 and they mentioned that sync rule is executing every 1 hour can anyone please suggest me an idea how to identify the root cause Regards Shobana

When the status of a parent work order is changed there is a prompt to change the status of all the child work orders. Is it possible to update other data on the parent work order that could then be applied to the child work orders as well? For example, if you enter an Actual Finish Date on the parent work order, is there a way for that date to be populated on the child work orders?
Hi,We have recently upgraded to FSM6U13, and the dispatchers in our team are working in the web client. Before upgrading, they were working in the backoffice client, where they had the possibility to personalize their own lobbies, using the buttons below:However, in the web client, there are no such option to personalize the lobbies, as far as I can see. It is only the “scroll bar” to adjust the zoom of the lobby, but the “person-lock” icon is not visible. Are there any settings that needs to be adjusted to make this work, or are there a limitation in the web client?
Hi,we have gathered some data from MX_U table. But I come across to a question how to interpret some data shown. On this captured screen data of Feb. 02, 2022, at around 1 am.mx_u_01, mx_u_02 fields showed something related to mobile app.But user doesn’t have mobile device installed.The question is because: time was wee morning, user didn’t do any work, and user doesn’t have mobile device installed.And a lot of same processes. We would like to visualize project milestones on the schedule board. Is there a baseline functionality to manage milestones in FSM?A workaround would be:Use milestones in ‘place view’ of the schedule board. In place view projects can be shown as they, in our case, relate to places. We created a dummy 'milestone-technician' (and Team) and used different task types for the specific differentiation of milestones themselves. Therefore the workaround isCreate Technician and Team MLSTN Create different milestone task types As said, this is just a workaround and we would like to know if there is something more project related available.Thanks in advance and regards,Thomas
