Apps10 IE Custom URL in lobby element not going to external webpage

Internet Explorer has ended their Support since the first quarter of 2022. Therefore, IFS has stopped using the IEE embedded Internet Explorer browser. For all the Custom menus , lobbies and all other external url uses, you have to use OS default external web browser to avoid the inconveniences. To support this, we have now introduced a setting in the .APPSETTINGS file as ‘alwaysUseExternalBrowser’. Setting this to true will always open web URLs in the external browser from anywhere in IEE. This feature will be available from UPD18.

How can I set permissions on a page-by-page basis in IFS Cloud?

Changing the current save criteria in Aurena 22R1

Hello @Chamaka Wimalarathne,As per the search help you have to use ‘=’ sign if you need to fetch exact same matches from the dataset. ‘starts with’ is the default option.

What determines how print jobs are processed?

Hello @arebbeadle,If you need to process print jobs in the same queue, print in order by print job id, you can change the EXECUTION_MODE = ‘InSequence’ and THREAD_COUNT = 1 of the relevant batch queue. This change can be done in Solution Manager> Integration> IFS Connect> Setup IFS Connect window.If you change the EXECUTION_MODE to ‘InOrder’ it will stop processing any other jobs after an error in one print job.

Hello @amin.shatat,Personal profile changes always work on top of the base profile. So we have seen some situations like personal profile overrides the base profile if end-user have required permissions to do so. As an example even though admin pushes the pre-set column order for a specific window through the base profile, if end-user have column chooser access then end-users can change the column order by themselves then that change saves in personal profile. In that case the initial base profile change will appear only if that relevant personal profile node deleted.There can be more complicated scenarios. Therefore it is bit difficult to give the exact reason to a profile related issues without knowing the exact situation.

Hello @amin.shatat,It is easy to provide a clue if you can explain the exact change you done and what happened to the limited license users (with some screenshots).As a general reason, personal profile change can override the base profile change. You can confirm this by emptying the whole personal profile/ relevant node for both limited and full users.

Hello @sahilgupta,As per the information, this improvement should take along with UPD11 only. No known workaround for UPD8.But there are some mentions that granting IFS_FULL permission to user→ refreshing security cache → revoking IFS_FULL from user→ refresh security cache has fixed this issue for some instances. I’m afraid whether it would be a viable workaround for you.

Hello @sahilgupta,Something similar to this has happened because of caching problem. Improvement for that is available in Solution: 287930 which is including in UPD11.

Column restriction from a Permission set

@Darshana Herath,Best way of restricting/hiding a column from a user is a base profile. You can create a base profile by hiding the relevant column and assign it to the user/s through Solution Manager> Security > Users> Create User window.

Impossible to modify a persistent field

Hello @TheoB,You may already have seen that logical unit of the ‘Staged Billing Profile’ window is CustomerOrderLine. So all of your custom fields will added to CustomerOrderLine LU. you can insert values to your custom fields from Customer Order> Order Lines tab or Customer Order Lines table window. Then that value will be visible in ‘Staged Billing Profile’ window.I suspect that ‘Staged Billing Profile’ window is only for data representation purpose.

How to set conditional formatting to a base profile

Hi @Manoj Balasooriya,Did you try below steps to add your conditional field changes to base profile? If no, please try them as well.Go to Solution Manager> User Interface> User Profiles> New Base Profile window search for your ‘Equipment’ base profile Click on ‘Set as active in current session’. This will load the base profile. Then add your conditional field changes to above windows Restart the application. when you restart it will as to save the base profile. Press yes for those messages. Then login with appowner/admin go to Solution manager. Security> Users window Find User = <give your user id who need above Equipment base profile>. Search. This will load your end user details. Go to User Profile node Set user’s base profile as ‘Equipment’. Save then login with that end user and check if end user can see the conditional field changes on above windows.

Limit of 30 characters in the default display name for an attribute in a custom logical unit

Hello @Miguel,It has defined in CUSTOM_FIELD_ATTRIBUTES as PROMPT is VARCHAR2(30). So this seems something you should try to achieve by a customization. Thank you.

How to copy content from one context to another?

Hello @gpkrish,I’m not sure whether this would work, but by considering only A and B users, you can try to add HR Services> Self Service to Context X and HR Services>HR Management to Context Y. Then make Context X available for the User A and both X and Y Contexts to user B by defining a proper condition.However, I have no idea of the complexity of this thing when it comes to a huge user base with various requirements in other areas as well. In Such scenarios it may be convenient maintaining 2 separate Contexts.Anyway, if the above steps didn’t work for you, the final option would be creating 2 separate Contexts for users according to their requirement in business process.Thank you.
