Setting up Company to Use Posting Proposal

If SINWOF is not installed, the customer hasn’t purchased Posting Proposal Module or else, it has been left out of the sales order in IFS which is used to build the environment.

Two things to look at here.Do the customer have the module. SINWOF component as suggested by @Shehan Almeida Is it a profile issue (base profile/personal profile) that is hiding the option for you

Easier distribution of parts within DB to different sites

@EnzoFerrari just wondering what is stopping you’ll from proactively replicating the sales parts, rather than wait for a customer order to kick in and create the sales part. Is it simply because of the volume of data that you’ll are going to end up with?

Oil and Gas Extension - Transport Orders - WADACO

Hi Dario,Thanks for your response, The standard 3 Transport Task related processes are already in the customers environment. Oil and Gas Extension has a functionality called Transport Orders (not Transport Tasks), this enables Inventory, Non-Inventory and No-Part lines to be added to a Transport Order (Transport Task handles only Inventory Parts) and move from one location/site to another.Pretty much similar to the standard WaDaCo processes for Transport Task, I am looking for processes for Transport Orders.I have read in many forums that it is possible to create new WaDaCo processes which will be a customization. Unfortunately the customer is on a no-modification policy and may even look at third party barcode scanning apps which may spit out a csv to be migrated / loaded across to IFS.Regards,Malik

Preventive Maintenance on Fixed Assets

I am not sure whether you are referring to ‘Serial Objects’ or ‘Serial Parts’ in the manufacturing process. If manufacturing process is used, the outcome can be a ‘Serial Part’ which will not have a ‘Serial Object’. Unless I am unaware of any new features that creates serial objects as well. If the items that you are referring is serial objects, then the process described above by @Mithila Rathnayake  will work, you will have to do the same in ‘Serial Objects’ screen instead of ‘Functional Objects’. You may want to take utmost care when connecting Serial/Functional Objects with Fixed Asset object especially when work tasks are executed with PR/PO’s which will try to post to the acquisition account. If for some reason you had to cancel a PO receipt connected to a Work Order (Fixed Asset preposted Object) you may end up with erroneous transactions which are irreversible.

Create a migration job of type ‘Replication’ and set the trigger to your original part loading site, and destination to all other sites you want. You will have to create replication type mig jobs for Purchase Part, Supplier for Purchase Part, Inventory Part etc. I’ve blurred the To Value List for privacy..

Changing Expiration Date in Report Archive

In the past what I’ve done with a customer is to set up a report rule with conditions to export them to an FTP and the file naming represents the order_no and date. In that case, the burden is not in the Application / Database, but outside in an FTP folder. This may be an alternative to look at.

Apps10 UPD8:Is it possible to set up user creation from Azure AD to IFS

I can’t see why it cannot be done. Atleast in Apps 9 we have done it for several customers (IFS Managed Cloud). The same options / screens are available in Apps 10 Upd 8Also, Apps 10 Upd 12 documentation shows how to do it.https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/  The only catch will be “IFS Managed Cloud” and Apps 10 where some technical changes have happened, If it is possible to reach out to Azure AD from the Cloud I don’t see why it cannot be done. I am writing based on logic, and sometimes logic may not apply in this instance :)

IFS 10 Service & Maintenance IEE

Apps 9 to Apps 10 Service and Maintenance functionality has changed quite a lot. A lot of gotchas. I would recommend thoroughly understand the changes and test extensively for new data as well as updated data, as we recently upgraded from Apps 9 to 10 for one of our customers and we had to do a mini-re implementation of the service and maintenance modules. Crafts are not used any more, it is all to do with Resource Groups and Resources. The job is executed on the Work Task level not on Work Order any more. In Apps 9 a single work order was connected to a single Object, where as in Apps 10 you can have a single object on the Work Order, but the work tasks can be connected to different objects. The customer invoicing from a work order has changed quite a bit. Work Order Postings have changed a lot and need to be very mindful about Work Task Transaction postings, where incorrectly setting it up can cause almost non-reversible issues and may require data correction to fix financial posting

@ttzeleznik  I had the same request way back in 2014 for a customer who was in Apps 8 and I reported it to R&D and they created a couple of patches (bug fixes / improvements) to introduce a new parameter PDF_FILE_NAME in the PDF_REPORT_CREATED Event. The same parameter is available in Apps 10. The solution was via a minor mod, where the File Naming Convention for your report needs to be defined, then the created pdf will inherit the naming as defined, if not the standard name will come through. Ex:PO10002.pdf if naming was PO||<ORDER_NO>.pdf else Purchase Order <RESULT_KEY>.pdfTo achieve what you request two things need to be done.A minor code change (modification may take 4 - 6 hrs for code change and build) to be done to define the PDF File Naming for the specific Report. Ex: Purchase Order Report name to be PO||<ORDER_NO>.pdf On the PDF_REPORT_CREATED Event Action, use &PDF_FILE_NAME for “Attach Files” instead of & PDF_FILE.We used the same to assign Cu

How to get the PDF from an IFS-generated report?

This customer has a requirement where they want to select and attach part/all of the documents attached to the purchase order to be sent along with the PO Layout in an email. In order to handle that we have created a “connected documents’ tab on the PO screen and added a column so the user can select a check box “to be emailed” on the document that they want to attach to the mail. Thus we used the same logic to silently print the PO, attach to the PO, and automatically select the ‘to be emailed’ check box.

How to get the PDF from an IFS-generated report?

Ha ha! I asked for it ;). In fact I had a similar requirement at one of our customer and we are in the process of providing a solution.  I know I am not answering your question but thought I will share my experience so you can get some ideas.The requirement was to create a draft email in MS Outlook with the PDF file of the PO report and any connected documents (IFS Doc Revs on PO Header, Part line and no part lines) as well as prefill data for the “To Address”, “Subject” etc. This gives the user the option to add extra info in the mail body / add recipients / add more documents before sending the email.Currently development is in progress to create a customized action (IFS Aurena equivalent to a Right Mouse Button Menu).The solution we provided is as follows;The Customized Action / Menu to generate PDF and attach the created PDF as a Document Revision within IFS Applications and connect it to the Purchase Order Header. I am not sure whether I understand you correctly, By setting up a report rule  similar to the following, will save the PDF version of the report in FTP / Shared Folder. A fixed location with the file name varying depending on the order no / supplier id / system date etc.  if you can tell the original requirement, there may be a way to handle it.

Presenting Survey Answers on mWO Maintenance 10

Thanks for the directions guys, I might have to stick with custom fields. Answers to be captured via the survey, and presented in custom fields (read only custom field with a direct look up or a migration job to populate the custom field with the survey answers). Of course there are some constraints.@asanka displaying survey answers in a single or limited No.of custom fields pose a challenge as we have multi-select answers in couple of questions and 2 free text field answers along with a picture field. Have to drop the picture field as it is difficult to work with CLOB/BLOBs.

Purchase Requisition authorization using positions

@Nipuni.J I have experienced the same issue that you have reported, and I believe it is a bug. I think I reported this issue to IFS for a fix. Need to dig up the cases and see. Like you say, it is possible to authorize on the right hand side of the screen.

ACCOUNTING_STRUCTURE_API.RE_OPEN__ to reopen any structures that are already in the system and that needs editing. ACCOUNTING_STRUCTURE - Header ACCOUNTING_STRUCTURE_ITEM ACCOUNTING_STRUCTURE_LEVEL ACCOUNTING_STRUCTURE_API.Activate__ to Activate the structures.

Document Attachments and Object Transformation in Aurena

Thanks Mathias, it is such a simple thing at the end, but I was still in my IFS EE logic and confused. Thanks for your help! I will test the OCT in detail, at lease for now PR to PO OCT works on line level.

Migrate Accounting Structure from test-to-prod (Apps10)?

Like @Adam Bereda  has suggested, I have used migration jobs to move Accounting Structure from on DB to another. It is a little bit trick due to the multi-level structure and I had to run the Structure Item migration job multiple times to get the whole structure in. Also, on top of this I have created a replication migration job such that if a change to the parent company’s accounting structure is made, it replicates to the other 37 companies.

IFS Apps 10 Account Manager User registered with the application, problem logging in after a while.

Were you able to resolve this issue? Do you’ll use ADFS authentication? As I’ve seen a similar issue at another customer where they use ADFS authentication and the system forces you to re-login with Account Manager.

Custom Event not working (Customer Order)

Is the order code set up such that the release happens online? Or does the release of the order happen as a background job? also, instead if checking against NULL you may want to check against COUNT, as in the past I’ve seen issues with NULL.
