Documentation/Live use cases on RFID usage

Hello Jerry, Nice to talk to you, back. 🙂We don’t have any specific documentation written up for RFID usage. At least not with the Release or Product documentation. As you have seen on previous community communications, we discussed the possibilities that were open up with the introduction of integration API for observations along with relevant BPA designs. But RnD has not met/supported any live use cases yet in the area. Having said that, I can see information on workplace, where customer projects handled RFID/Barcode usages in the areas of mWO and WaDaCo with necessary hardware/software add-ons. @Dolly I did not fully understand, what you meant by “use again”? However, the Replacement should be possible to Roll Back. This is what the documentation explains around the replacement activity. Replace ObjectReplacing an object involves inactivating an existing object and transferring it's balances to a new object.In order to replace an object, it's status must be Active and it must be be fully depreciated up to the replace date. You will be required to specify an ID and a description for the new object when you carry out this operation. Once the operation is carried out, a voucher will be created in the hold table(s) of the respective ledger(s) to post the acquisition value, acquisition value adjustments per book and the accumulated depreciation transferred.When an object is replaced, it's status will be Replaced. The new object will be created with the status Active, and the general information (like object group and acquisition account), information relating to books, and inven

How do you know the equipment has been depreciated @Mayura Wasantha ? Is there new depreciation functionality I don’t know about? I thought the equipment was just tied to the ledger through the FA field. Hello Jerry, there is no new functionality or an integrated way to know that. At least nothing new has been placed yet. You are right of the FA field connection.

Even though there are other document access methods, I don’t see a good match of them to the situation explained above. Please have a read on “AboutDocumentAccess.htm” https://docs.ifs.com/ifsclouddocs/23r2/CreateAndMaintainDocument/AboutDocumentAccess.htm We can think of prefixing or suffixing the Company Name with the Document Class (100-A 100-B) during the data migration, probably with a simple custom event. This would be the safest & simplest approach, only If the customer does not have a requirement of maintaining the same document class in IFS.

User account deletion

Open the “Person” window, and check whether any Person has the given User Connection. (Search for the User ID). If available remove the connection and try Deleting the user. I hope this would help..

It can be done by using a custom lobby. Infact, IFS Cloud has a standard Lobby page consists of different person-based lobby elements that can fit into this purpose. For example, ‘My Documents in Progress’, ‘My Recently Created/Modofied Documents” etc.etc. Please check,Document Management > My DocumentsAdditionally, Document Folders Structures can also be an option here. Documents in that case grouped into different folders based on the person groups, departments etc.etc.

Moving of a serial objects between sites/companies while maintaining same object ID/serial No.

Hello @E.Mamcasz - This has been a known concern Core APP10 application. It surely has the Serial Move capability, however with some limitations. Object ID & Site combination, being the logical keys, Object Site field cannot be changed during the move. Hence latest/true site is not reflected in the Object Site field once it is moved. For example, If we have an equipment structure (Parent-Child) like below in Site 1Object 1, Site 1, --- > Object 11, Site 1,Object 11 can be moved to the Parent Object 2 in Site2 (of the same Company.)Object2, Site 2, ---- > Object 11, Site 1This is the problem as we see it. Even though the Object 11 is moved as a child of Object2, Site 2, its site value is still kept as Site 1. Hower all reference information is intact (not missed) given that Keys are unchanged. Could this be an acceptable workaround by the customer, given the urgency? NOTE:In IFS Cloud (from 23R1 onwards) in order to get rid of the restrictions, we have introduced a new Equip

Thanks @E.Mamcasz , good to be on the same page🙂.The Cloud solution design has considered all related information around the object. For example, There is a prerequisite to Close all Work Tasks before a moving or shipping. A new PM Revision(s) is allowed to create in the new Site. (maintaining same Maintenance Plans) Latest measurements at the point of move/ship is done, Historical measurements are carried through. Work History of the previous site(s) is visible to new site users. If you are interested, the following activity diagram along with all its descriptions will give good amount of information (pre-requisites, system effects) around this.

This requirement primarily stems from oil and gas industry where Equipment Classification is a is a standard regulatory practice. Given that the Oil and Gas industry operates mostly offshore, it's crucial to uphold strict safety measures for personnel, assets, components, and systems, as mandated by industry-standard bodies. These basic data was initially introduced to ensure the compliance with regulations defined by those industry standard bodies (Organizations) such as DNVGL, Lloyds etc. The diagram below illustrates how this basic data is structured and utilized in equipment classification.The above enables O&G organizations to set up basic data to confirm compliance with multiple classification organizations/ bodies.
