Operation Block Sequencing Logic

Are IEE and Aurena using different logic, or is the same logic used in both now?Also, in IEE Upd10, the field Operation Priority is not available in Shop Order Operations, Operations per Work Center, or Operation Block, pages where a scheduler would most likely be working. The only place I find this field is in the SFWB, an area in which a scheduler would likely not be entering information but an operator would simply be using the Op Priority for sorting.

Enacting MRP Proposals

From any table/list page in Aurena, use the checkbox column header to select all records and then you can act on these records. Also, in any table/list page you can select one record and then use Ctrl+select on the last record in the range to select a range of records and then you can act on them.

Enacting MRP Proposals

When you select Follow Up for a purchased part with a Need Orders message, what page does this take you to? I would expect it to take you to the Purchase Requisition Lines page, but you have not provided the setup on your inventory part. Selecting ‘Follow Up’ is not creating the PR, it is simply navigating to the PR.If the part type is Purchased, and the supply type is Requisition then the follow up option should display the Purchase Requisition Lines window. Only the purchase requisition lines that are in the Planned status will be displayed. If the part type is Purchased, and the supply type is Schedule, then the follow up option should display the Supplier Schedule Lines window. Only the supplier schedule lines which are in the Entered status will be displayed.

Many Planners ignore the message ‘Need Orders’ if MRP is generating the requisitions. I will have requisitions because I need purchase orders.MRP will create a requisition per part, with all the demand for that part on multiple lines on the requisition, not all parts per Supplier on one requisition.That being said, I recommend operating at the PR Lines page and searching for parts by Supplier/Wanted Receipt Date/Planner/Buyer/etc., whatever criteria you wish, and putting all the lines you need on one PO. Selecting ‘Follow Up’ in the Proposals page is not creating the PR, it is simply navigating to the PR that MRP generated.Note the multiple PR numbers for the multiple parts for one supplier going to one PO below.

Can we change the UoM on an existing part?

I’ve never known anyone to use it, but if you are creating a new part to replace one for which transactions exist (and you cannot delete it), you may want to investigate the Supersedes Part/Superseded by Part attributes on the Inventory Part.Supersedes Part:The number of the part that has replaced the earlier, if applicable. This information is used when performing deviation analysis and classification job for inventory parts. The superseded part will use the transaction history from the replaced part when performing jobs.Superseded By Part:The number of the part that has replaced the earlier, if applicable. This information is used when performing deviation analysis and classification job for inventory parts. The superseded part will not use its own transaction history for subsequent jobs. The transaction history of the superseded part gets inherited by the replacing part instead.

What is your plan for generating the supply for the Wheel if the system does not generate requisitions for the Wheel? Create the Wheel shop orders manually?And the Wheel is an MS1 part also?

Are you looking for a cumulative lead time calculation that would omit all purchase part lead times? Maybe possible through a custom menu item to perform the calculation into a custom field.

Logic in Building Tracked Structures Automatically

Also, customer is using a serial/lot tracked parent, one lot per production order with multiple component lots per order. So for a shop order lot size = 5 with one component part A with a QPA =1, and (3) of part A reserved from Lot 1 and (2) reserved from Lot 2. What determines to which parent serial each one of the Lot 1 parts and each one of the Lot 2 partsgets assigned to?

Work Center Capacity has no effect on this.Experiment with a setup like this:Manufactured component part with an Order Gap Time of 1. On its parent part’s BOM, this part has a QPA = 1.This part also has Min/Max/Multiple lot size parameters all set to 1, so for any demand I will get multiple shop order reqs each for a lot size of (1). Set these values to how many you can make per order/per day.I have a shop order for the parent part, lot size = 10.Run MRP and the resulting due dates of the requisitions for the component are:Had the Min/Max/Multiple been (2), I would have (5) shop reqs each with a proposed start date gapped by one day.

Scheduling Constant Demand

Set the inventory part for the sales part to an order gap time of 1 week (depends on your site mfg calendar) with a Min/Max/Multiple lot size all set to 4.With that configuration and a customer order with (16) due on the last day of the month, running MRP I get these requisition due dates for the sales part all one week apart for lot sizes of (4) each.With a variable lead time of 15.5 days, though, each shop order for (4) will take 62 days to complete, correct?

I had a reply on here, edited it and now it’s gone, but it follows the logic explained above by @majose.I have this manufactured component part, order gap time =1. In its parent part’s BOM it has a QPA = 1.Also on this part, I have the Min/Max/Multiple Lot Size all set to 1.I have a shop order for the parent part, lot size = 10.When MRP is run, the resulting requisitions for the component are each for lot size = 1 and all with due dates one day apart from each other.

Similar to another thread, I had a reply here, edited it, and it disappeared.For this inventory/sales part, I have set an order gap time of 5 days which is one week in my site Mfg Calendar.I also have the Min/Max/Multiple Lot Sizes all set to 4 for this part.With customer orders due for (16) at the end of each month through December:When I run MRP, my shop order requisitions are each for a lot size of (4), and each requisition is due in inventory one week apart from the others.

How to add costs for non-consumed part is in part cost calculation (part cost)

In Costing Basic Data > Cost Parameters, set INCLUDE_NOT_CONSUMED to Yes to include product structure components marked not consumed in Cost Rollup. Note this will lead to shop order variance if used in Cost Set 1 because not consumed parts are not included in shop order costs by definition.Also, this will not add to Level Sales Cost, only to Total Sales Cost.

Finding PO using Batch Number

Some options:In Receipts page, search for the Lot/Batch Number. Order Ref 1 field will be the PO Number(s) the Lot/Batch was received on.In Inventory Transactions History page, search for the Lot/Batch Number and Order Type = Purchase Order. Order Ref 1 field will be the PO Number(s) the Lot/Batch was received on.In Lot Batch History, search for the Lot/Batch Number. Check the Transaction Description and Order Type. Order Ref 1 field will be the PO Number(s) the Lot/Batch was received on.

Making PO lines not nettable

You could Stop (i.e., Freeze) the PO, andall lines will not be seen as supply. This can be performed, though, only at the PO header and not on individual lines.

Operations starting with an overlap ??

The setting in Shop Floor Reporting Settings for Concurrent Operations has no effect on the scheduling of operations. This setting simply determines if 1) clocking onto concurrent operations is permissible in this WC (Allowed/Not Allowed) and 2) when multiple operations in the WC are started simultaneously, should they use the same clocking sequence ID (Group Start in Sequence) or different clocking sequence IDs (Group Start in Parallel).The Start/Finish dates in the Operations per Work Centre are calculated by the infinite scheduling logic based on the Need Dates of each shop order requisition.Not sure, though, how the operations on some requisitions are scheduled to end at 08:00 and others are scheduled to end at 13:30 on the same date, unless you are using an Order Gap Time.

In IFS Apps 10 Update 11 Aurena, we have found the following question/issue on the Product Structure screen (Engineering > Structure > Product Structure > Product Structure)

Appears to be a shortcoming in any page where you can have a tree view in the record selector. Pages such as Routing and Part Cost also do not have the dropdown list available, while pages such as Inventory Part have it available, even with the record selector open (UPD12 shown below).

I may be too late to the conversation, and you did not specify which version you are running, but in Apps10, there is a page called Receipt Locations.From the Documentation:Use this window to connect default locations to a site.These are used when no default locations are specified in the inventory part record.Note that default locations specified in the inventory part record take precedence over the default locations entered here.The following location types can be connected as default locations to a site: Arrival and Quality Assurance.

In Apps10 use the page 'Average Issues/Receipts per Period'.1. Statistic Periods (Warehouse Management > Basic Data > Statistic Periods) must exist for the relevant periods you wish to analyze.2. Run the task 'Aggregate Inventory Transactions per Period' for a Site up to a date.Use this dialog box to update the system's statistical tables. Many of the analysis windows connected to an inventory part use the statistical tables. The inventory statistics are based on the inventory transactions, and the result is divided into statistical periods defined in Statistic Periods window. You can either update inventory part statistics directly, or schedule the task as a background job.3. View the results in 'Average Issues/Receipts per Period'. This will also update the fields for Current year (Out) and Current Year (In) in Inventory Part Availability Planning.

APB Unknown Constraint

Investigate the EPST of the shop order in APB (i,e. RMB > Show). I recall APB will not allow you to move an operation or order ahead of what the system has established as the EPST. If this is the unknown constraint, you may need to run ‘Update ESD According to Material Availability’ to establish a realistic EPST for use in APB scheduling.
