Cannot change person record.

It is also possible that you have one or more active Business Rules which make redundant updates to the same record within the same transaction. Check your active Business Rules acting on the PERSON table, and any related extension tables.

previously installed FSM Smart Client "forcing" reinstall every day

One of the customers reporting this provided the following update when asking for the case to be closed.“I scheduled a restart of the IFS server for every weekend and that seems to have solved it. Whatever it was causing the issue, restarting the IFS server fixed it (or so it appears).”

FSM Mobile installation issue

UPDATE NOTE: In one of the earlier Updates to FSM6, the MOBILE user count logic was changed to consume one license per Person ID, regardless of how many devices that are activated for a Person. So it is now truly counting mobile users based on active person_mobile record existence; it is not counting devices.Person record maintenance for all users, particularly Mobile users, is necessary when the Person leaves the company. Update the Person.Status field to “Inactive” which deletes their person_mobile records and prevents mm_message_out records from being created for them that will never be downloaded. The license token that was created will then be returned to the Available count. @Asterix @Lee Pinchbeck

Instructions for PROD to lower environment cloning

@Dhanushki PahathkumbureThe attached file originated as informal directions to customers for how to create a database backup to provide to IFS with which to refresh our local customer environments. It was expanded to discuss the various data elements that need to be checked when refreshing lower environments to ensure email communications, integrations, file locations, etc. are not utilized in error.

FSM Mobile Attachment Types

I suspect the FSM Mobile solutions would require enhancement to support unzipping of files. I don’t believe the .ZIP extension is a supported file type.I suggest an Idea for Enhancement be created in the IFS Community if you have not done so already.

Is there a way to detect when a user has left a screen in mobile and to show a message to warn them to save data?

The Jump menu is not part of the Workflow screens. The only programmatic way that FSM Mobile automatically saves the data entered on a Workflow screen is by the user pressing the Next or Save button on the screen.The previous suggestion notes, “Assuming user will only using buttons within fsm (and not the OS level buttons like back, home)”The Jump menu is not a “button” within FSM.As answered by Mobile R&D, Mobile Consulting, and Mobile Software Engineer, this can be done through a code customization. It’s not possible through Mobile Designer configuration.@GDFAPIETRZAK

Thanks for your input, @nimesha.kalinga. The screen on which these mobile users are entering the Note and not pressing the Save button is a custom mobile screen - and the users are going to the Jump To menu to go to another screen. This custom screen doesn’t have a Next button. Perhaps if the custom screen is adjusted to be more like a Workflow screen, and the Save button is replaced with a Next button, your configuration suggestion may work.@GDFAPIETRZAK

This is currently not possible through Mobile Configuration. It has been accomplished through code customization.

The error thrown by custom reporting functionality in G2327157 is “Object reference not set to an instance of an object” which is different from “Report file … not found”There was additional enhancement in U19 for AdHoc Reports Upgrade feature.

How to identify the FSM function initiating a query?

Response from R&D to Question Task:I reviewed the FSM code and did not find any code which specifically deletes task_steps records.I believe the most likely source is the cascading delete relationship on the task table which deleted related task_steps records when a task record is deleted. If this is the case, then the deletion of a task record would be the source. This is the only baseline cascading relationship where task_steps records are deleted.I doubt they would have any custom relationships like this for task_steps but they could check for those using the following query:select * from cust_relation_def where related_tab_name = 'TASK_STEPS'The customer could potentially audit the TASK_STEPS delete operations. This likely wouldn t show them the cause of the hanging delete statement directly but would allow them to see who was deleting task_steps records and when. They could then ask those users what they were doing at the time to get an idea of where the deletes originate.

How to identify the Person ID used for Authentication for an existing Integration Monitor Schedule?

The Auth. Person ID on the Instance existed before the App Param did - so the values could be different, although it’s understood they should be the same. So what is the hierarchy? App Param is used if defined - Instance is used if App Param is not defined - or ?What is the reason for the STUDIO license type requirement (2)? I understood integrations require only a MESSAGE license type.What is meant by “ADMIN user” (3)?

FSM 6 Update 14 Installation Error

@ISI-RWL Please find attached the New Install Installation Guides for both On Premise and Azure deployments of current release of FSM6 Update 16.All of the system documentation should be present in the Documentation folder that is included in the release package.Is this request related to the original post here?

What can cause the "Send log files" option in FSMi > Admin to become disabled?

@brian.gummin - Customer replied with, “Ok I think I know the issue. We recently changed MDM's and now have to use the outlook email app for emails vs. the default mail app for iOS.. Could that be the issue? If so could we connect it to the outlook app?”Does the “Send Log Files” feature require the use of the default Mail app in iOS? Can FSMi be enhanced to use Outlook from the device? Is there a similar requirement for FSMa or FSMw?

Hi @SanjeewaJ Customer is running FSM6U11 with a customized FSMi solution. This is one of a few issues reported since the deployment of a new mobile release where they implemented Quoting. (Consulting says that involved configuration only.) They have iOS 15 running on several devices, and the two users reporting the “Send Log Files” feature appearing disabled is currently limited to that O/S version.KHALL - iPhone only - iOS 15.3.1 (Has an iPad on 15.3.1 that works) and JDAVIS - iPhone - iOS 15.3.1Thank you for the confirmation that the Mobile App Param ALLOW_ADMIN_EDITS_IN_MOBILE is not a possible cause for this issue.Now I’m back to the question, “What can cause the "Send log files" option in FSMi > Admin to become disabled?” I understand that iOS is not supported until FSM6U14. Could this issue possibly be related to the unsupported iOS version 15?@brian.gummin

IFS user accounts on customer environment

These IFS Internal users were created to facilitate messaging between FSM components - they are all configured with MESSAGE license type. This avoids the customer’s licensed user counts from being impacted by internal processes.The IFS_MOBILE person is logged on when the Mobile Service initiates a connection with the FSM Server.There is a “Days:” field on the Mobile Log screen from Studio > Tools that determines the number of days of log history that the Mobile logging framework should retain.@GAUTHIERM @Atheeq Maharoof

Request Status Error

Check the App Param named AUTO_COMPLETE_REQUEST_STATUS which identifies the status (REQ_STATUS) to set on a request when the request is automatically completed.If the App Param named AUTO_COMPLETE_REQUEST is set to ‘Y’, and the App Param named AUTO_COMPLETE_REQUEST_STATUS is NULL, this is likely the error that would be generated.@RamyaR @schuster

FSM 6 Update 14 Installation Error

Did you check the installStatus.log and/or the FSM6_CreateViews.log. These logs are created as the New Install or Upgrade scripts are being run and can be found in the relevant DatabaseData folder where the FSMInstaller is run.@ABTIWARY @SanjeewaJ

FSM6 Restricting Task Statuses based on Task Type/Template

It is the Function named TASKSTATUSANY enabled on a Person’s Role that allows that user to choose any “next status” thereby bypassing the restrictions defined in the Task Status Flow.This was added to allow Task Status Flow to be enabled for only Mobile users and allow smart or web client users to choose any Task Status.Setting the TASK TYPE in the Task Status Flow provides the ability to restrict the selection of Task Statuses based upon the Task Type.@MartinF @Saranga Amaraweera@GAUTHIERM@Kalpa Perera

what is the use of mx_u table in FSM?

R&D explained, “Every external message coming in to the FSM Server (smart client, web client, mobile, integrations, PSO) gets a record in MX_U. With another customer, we’ve seen that truncating MX_U did not make a dramatic difference in performance; it was rather fixing the issues with their implementation that made the difference. There are numerous configuration elements that if inefficiently constructed can cause performance issues, including Business Rules, Integration Maps, etc.. The Customer's configuration needs to be thoroughly reviewed to identify the cause. In one case for another customer, a badly constructed custom view was the actual problem.”This feature is being enhanced with the ability to specify a particular time frame for the investigation, as well as the ability to completely disable the data collection by setting the USAGE_DAYS_TO_SAVE App Param to ‘0’. This is currently planned for delivery in Update 16, which is scheduled for release in late February, 20
