We are an Apps 8 user and already use the Project Management module, including the WBS element. However, at this time we do not utilise the CBS element and I have struggled to work out how to utilise this alongside the WBS to any real advantage. Are there any good papers/user guides/experiences out there that might assist? The on-line Help files aren’t helping much. Thanks!
We are using IFS Apps 8 and are considering offering Managers the opportunity to record sickness absence directly into IFS. Whilst this can be done via Time Card Day, I was wondering if there was an alternative or better screen for this purpose that only offered direct subordinates and not everyone in the organisation, as is the case with some of the HR screens aimed at HR personnel.Having looked at the Absence screen, it seems that you cannot restrict this just to Direct Subordinates unless there is a method that I have not identified.
We are on Apps 8 and use the Sub-Contract function. However, having created a revised template containing approvals, we cannot understand how the sub-contract can be activated when it has not previously been ‘Reviewed’ which is the step that precedes Activate. It’s as if the approvals have no impact on the activation of the sub-contract.Has anyone else come across this and if so, is this a bug or standard functionality? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
We are using Apps 8 for time recording and payroll and would like to know if it is possible to amend time registration information AFTER it has been authorised and transferred to payroll without having to re-open the payroll. The amendments required do not relate to payable elements so there would be no change to the payroll payment.
We’re using Apps 8 Personnel Requisitions for management to notify HR of recruitment requirements. They raise the requisitions themselves but this area of the system does not appear to provide the same security as other areas within HR. By this, I mean that we would have expected a requisitioner to only be able to see their own or their team’s requisitions. Currently, they appear to be able to see everything. Is there a way of applying positional type controls to control access to this area of the system?
In IFS Apps 8, is it possible to create a PM elimination when both events are calendar based? We have a PM trigger every 3 months for a minor vehicle service. We also have an annual major service once a year so don’t want the minor vehicle service to trigger at the point the annual major service is triggered. Thanks in advance for any assistance with this.
I want to restrict the account codes available as part of the pre-postings when employees raise purchase/material requisitions. Although I have created a saved search, I do not appear to have the option to set a default, showing only a few of the options.
We use New Case Issue for recording customer faults/requests. We have 1 company providing support to its own employees and the employees of another company we also own. However, when the employees raise a case from the 2nd company (customer), it defaults in the case to the 1st company (customer). The employees raising the case are only assigned to one company so I had expected the system to know which company to enter based on the employee raising the case. This is not happening. Does anyone know if there is a way of doing this?
We use IFS payroll in Apps 8. We use the leavers wizard here to terminate employees in the HR module. Whilst we have granted certain Finance users ‘Access to Former Employee Groups’ of type Leaver, as soon as the employee's status changes to Employment Ended, they lose sight of those users when processing BACS payments. Is there somewhere else we need to undertake some configuration? Thanks in advance for any help.
We are on Apps 8 and have just implemented the use of Employee Objectives. However, we have key users in Finance who need access to authorize employee expenses and payroll. Our solution to provide this access has been to grant them positional access to the level of CEO. However, now that we are implementing Employee Objectives, we don't want these people being able to see everyone’s objectives. How do we grant them access to be able to deal with expenses and payroll but remove access to objectives, other than their own?
