Receipt Reference in posting proposal

We want to begin using receipt reference to match invoices and receipts.  From what I understand the receipt reference cannot be entered in the posting proposal until after the receipt has been created.  Is that correct?  If that is correct how do others update the receipt reference in the posting proposal?

Purchase Order Accounting Requirements

In the Account screen we have designated certain fields as Mandatory (Division, Department, Site).  When a purchase order is created is there a way for the purchase order to require these same fields before being approved?  It’s a hassle now because the issue doesn’t present itself until we try to final post the invoice.

Return Stage Payment items

We created a purchase order for inventory items on a stage payment purchase order.  We paid the invoice and received the items.  The stage payment process was complete.  We later determined the inventory we received was bad.  What is the IFS process to return the items to the supplier and receive the credit from the supplier?  We cancelled the receipt but now we can’t get the purchase order to close.  Thank you!

Spoiled Check Cleared

A check marked as Spoiled cleared our bank account.  Is it possible to change the status of a check from Spoiled to Printed so we can show it as Cashed?

Customer Owned Inventory

We are receiving customer-owned inventory from a customer.  We cannot figure out how to set everything up in IFS Apps 10.  This is inventory that was not supplied by us.  It was supplied by other suppliers of our customer.  We have worked on this for almost two days and cannot get it figured out.  We keep getting asked about a customer and customer order.  When we finally think we have it we get an error message saying we cannot receive the quantity in because we didn’t supply that quantity.

Expense Sheet Approver Cannot See Expense Sheet

A team member’s supervisor cannot see a few expense sheets.  The supervisor was able to see and approve recent expense sheets but not older expense sheets.  The supervisor recently became the team member’s supervisor.  Is there a date somewhere in IFS that is preventing the supervisor from seeing older expense sheets?

Expense Sheet Route

A team member recently was assigned a new supervisor.  Before this the team member did not have issues with expense sheets.  Since he got a new supervisor he is able to confirm his expense sheet but gets the following message:Does this have anything to do with getting a new supervisor?  Does anyone know the fix to this?

Project Time Corrections

We use the Project Transaction, Create Correction Transaction to make project time/dollar corrections in Apps9.  I cannot find anywhere in IFS that shows the date a correction was made.  Everything references the original date of the time transaction.  Is anyone familiar with a field that shows the date a correction was made?  Thank you.

Inter-Site Cost Bucket

Hello everyone.  I’d like to know if anyone does the following or if it’s even possible. We use standard costing.  Site A manufactures a part that has material, labor and OH cost bucket IDs.  The part is then transferred to Site B.  Currently we use the P-150 cost template to set the standard cost in Site B to be the same as the standard cost in Site A.  The problem is that the cost in Site B is only associated with cost bucket ID 510.  I’d like the material, labor and OH costs from Site A to be the same in Site B.  Is this possible?  Thanks!

Terminated team members and prior project time/expense sheets

We are running into an issue where a team member is terminated, the information passes from our employment software into IFS and then we cannot confirm, approve, authorize that team member’s final expense sheet.  We’ve tried changing their status back to Active and that doesn’t work.  Does anyone have any words of wisdom of what else we need to change so we can finish processing expense sheets?

Perform ABC, Frequency and Lifecycle Classification

I ran Perform ABC, Frequency and Lifecycle Classification for the first time in a test environment.  We have been on IFS for 15 months.  A majority of our items changed to C even though Inventory Basic Data is set to I aggregate inventory every month.  Is there anything else I need to do before running Perform ABC, Frequency and Lifecycle Classification?  Do I need to close Statistics Periods?  Is there any way to print the logic that was used in calculating the new ABC code?  This is our first time doing this and I’d like to this information for documentation purposes and for audit purposes.

M10 & M19 Balancing invoice amount postings after rounding

We are getting “Balancing invoice amount postings after rounding - Shortage/Excess Found” general ledger entries that are causing Received Not Yet Invoiced and Purchase Price Variance to be wrong.  Sometimes these entries reverse, although in different months, and sometimes they don’t.  I have not been able to determine what causes this entry.  Has anyone else come across this?  It did not start occurring until we moved to Apps10.

Multiple projects for one contract

Is there a way to have several projects in IFS but link them to one common contract number?  Because of revenue recognition we’d like to use multiple projects because the profit margins are different for certain tasks.  But when we create reports we want to see the results of all the projects.

AP Invoice Matching

Hello everyone.  We scan our invoices using FastAP and feed it into IFS.  If we create a receiving document in IFS before the invoice is entered into IFS the system will automatically match it.  If we enter the invoice into IFS before a receiving document is created we have to manually match the two.  Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?  Does anyone have a solution to this issue?  Thank you.

Labor Rate Dilution

We use labor rate dilution for one of our companies.  The process only works when the week ends on a Saturday because I have to run by process for an entire week.  I was wondering if anyone out there uses labor rate dilution and what do you do when the month does not end on a Saturday.  Thanks everyone!

M62 Posting Control

I want to set up posting control M62 to use the project ID to determine the appropriate general ledger account number and department to record the expense to.  I can’t use any characteristic from the inventory part because the same part needs to be expensed differently if it’s being charged to an R&D project than when it is charged to a revenue project.  I thought Cost Source would be the answer but that’s not working either.  Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. Patrick
