Bad Debt Provision

HiWhen you make the Transfer to Bad Debt, choose a Bad Debt Level with a Provision amount greater than zero. Then you will also get the postings you expect: PP74 Dr to P&L and PP73 Cr to Balance Sheet.

Posting Control GP5

I guess your project groups do not normally default the project type to use Capitalization of costs?You can check the ‘Project Type’ on the form Finance Projects.If so , it could be that when approving the project somebody accidentally set one for Capitalize Cost or Capitalize Cost/Revenue.This will then trigger a GP5 posting when updating the GL (or when doing periodical capitalization revenue recognition).If this has happened then I’m afraid it’s not easy to change the project type once you have transactions. You would need to complete, then reopen the project with the correct type.

E Invoice Saudi Arabia - Arabic Language

Ok, do you want to import or export it? Do you use EDI? HiExport it - although it’s rather complex as it’s a 2 way integration. See the link in the OP for more details. However my original question is not about the interface, but the storage of Arabic text in fields in IFS for which there is no standard translation. Please keep the replies on topic. Thanks.

Linking Supplier to GL code

Hi As well as the Default Cost Code String there is now (from Apps9) the Posting Template ID on the Invoice tab of the supplier.This works just like the Default Cost String but allows you to have multiple rows split by percentages or amounts. You need to setup the template first. Example from release notes:It is also possible to use it from the Posting Proposal.

Mixed Payment External File Template

This is a really interesting thread. I noticed that the code parts are not visible in the standard external mixed payment type so thought about creating my own. But since you have hit the problem about I think I will create a data migration job directly into mixed payment. Unless someone tells me they have cracked this problem and how? Thanks Barrie

Multiple Tax to External Supplier Invoices

HiDoes your import go via the External File Template process?If so you might want to look at using the STDSIN1 template which allows you to have multiple tax rows in the invoice data.

BR Access to GL Balance Set Analysis

Thanks Sanjaya I was not aware of the ETL use. What’s strange is that the user can see the data through EE (Balance Analysis) but not through BR unless I grant IS Full Access. The underlying source of data is the new Business Planning functionality to which the user has access. I will check again and may end up raising a support case. /Barrie

Prepayment Based Invoice: There should be no order lines or charge lines with multiple tax codes

HiI think the help text refers to the fact it is possible to have multiple tax codes on a single order line, for example in a sales tax environement like the US. This functionality originates from a VAT environment (Poland) where multiple tax codes per CO line are unusual.So while your invoice has mulitple tax codes, there is still only one for each order line (from the screen shot it looks so). Therefore it is unlikely that this line of help is the cause of whatever tax error you are having. Regards

Start Currency Balance Adjustment

HiThis feature is designed to correct the balance sheet because Consolidated Accounts consolidates Period Balances (not accumulated). Running the job will create a C Voucher by account with the currency difference going to GP7 posting control (from memory).This is not necessary in the new Group Consolidation module because it has the capability to consolidate Accumulated balances.

HiPractically what does this mean though? For example, if I ‘Grant Full Access’ to an IS which has a dimension with Security Filters such as GL Authority Classes, does this mean the user has full access to that dimension even though they are not in a GL Authority Class?

Hi - Thanks, although that solution relates to the GL Balance information source and is from 2010. This is a new Information Source: GL Balance Set Analysis. However the notes did point me in the direction of “Information Source Full Access”. I have granted the IS to my user and I am now able to see the data. If anyone has any more explanation on why I now need Information Source Full Access when I didn’t before I would be most grateful.Thanks Barrie

Customer Confirmation Statement

Hi The way I see it is that the Statement of Account is sent monthly and is used for Credit Control and debt chasing purposes.The Confirmation Statement is something you can send annually as part of your Audit requirements. When I worked in Industry, I was required by my auditors to send an annual signed and returned ‘confirmation of debt’ letter detailing the outstanding items to a sample of my customers. I would use the confirmation template for this purpose.

Hi Go to the form Scheduled Database Tasks, search for the Task “Batch Create Shipment Invoices”, right click to the Schedule and untick the ‘Active’ check box. Regards Hi, thank you for the reply, but this is not a scheduled job. Even in the database tasks, there is no place to disable it. Ah OK - then have you looked at the ‘Stop After’ check boxes in the Shipment Type?

Customer Direct Debit runs - Payment methods per institute

HiThe connection to the GL account isn’t made directly from the payment method but via the Cash Account. When processing the Direct Debit Proposal you will need to enter the Cash Account that is connected to the Payment Institute shown in your screenshot. This Cash Account needs to be added to the Posting Control Details (RMB from Posting Control) of Posting Type PP1 (assuming you are using the PC2 Control Type).

Sub contractor Reverse VAT on invoices

Hi there Instead of Withholding Tax, use “Calculated Tax” tax type on your new tax code.This will use posting controls IP9 and IP10 which you need to map to Tax Accounts but crucially do not effect the amount that is paid to the sub contractor.IFS Will create ‘Reverse Charge’ Input VAT and Output VAT postings that can then be added to the relevant boxes 1-9 in your VAT Return. Depending on how you’ve mapped your tax codes (assuming you’re using some MTD Software) you will do this by mapping these Tax Codes within Tax Template Field Control in Template S089.Have a play in a test database but I think Calculated Tax is the way to go for Reverse Charge. Witholding tax handles actual deductions like CIS.
