Serial objects rename / deletion

Hi @JannetteC This should be possible by navigating to ‘Part Serial’ and then ‘Rename’ from the Serial Object page. And you might need to make sure that ‘In Inventory’ is the current position. Best, Daniel I have a serial in inventory. The serial object is not connected to a parent object and the serial object operational status is ‘Out of Operation’. When performing rename as You describe I get this: What does this mean? When a asset is modified it needs to be renamed but now something is preventing it. Has it been connected to any Service or Request contracts ?

Default Data Generators

Please check the explanation below, Let us know if you have further inquiries.This activity is used to define a default data generator which will insert default (predefined) values or modify data when creating, modifying or deleting a design object or design part. Default values are created in a special package (API Packages) that is written expressly for this purpose. Default data generators are defined with a business object type (e.g., Object, Design Part), a Key (a concatenated value of all Plant Classes and Plant Standards), and an Implementation Package (A package, e.g., TEST_API containing commands such as Pre-insert, Pre-new, Post-new, Pre-delete, Post-insert, among others).For example, Every new design object created from ‘Pump Centrifugal” class, is added the ‘centrifugal pump’ text in the Object Description field.

Yes, this is a limit sets in there, purely considering possible performance drawbacks. The workaround here is to navigate to the Document Revisions as you mentioned above,

In that case, Serial Object would fits in best.(each wagon a serial object) . Are those anyway serialized ? Else a VIM Object can also be considered.

Serial objects rename / deletion

The simplest would be use “Move To Inventory” command on the Serial Object. which allows to return the Serial into Inventory. Once moved into 8nventory m the current position is set as In Inventory. Rename the serial now. Bring back it into the facility.

How the AssetStartStopEvent in APM module works?

Please see the answers below, - So the Category for the events will be either ‘START’ or ‘STOP’ and then we give subcategory as Planned Stop, Unplanned Stop or Production Halt, correct? - YES- Is it possible to give different other sub categories, then how APM page will display? - YES we can give different other sub categories. It will be saved in the DB Table. However in case of APM detail page, a new card needs to be added. That is not a configurable feature at this point, hence a code change is needed.-Is it possible to give different Machine statuses. other than ON/OFF/IDLE? - YES-How availability is calculated? and is it possible to also add Utilizations? - It checks for sum of all unplanned stops during the selected period of time in the APM page. A= (Period of Time - Sum of Unplanned Stops) / Period of Time

I want to know the complete process. It is required to register Asset Start time and stop time. And would like to see, whether machine is running or is it stopped. How much time machine ran for a day. etc.,,, Regards, Ram Yes it is required to register Start Time and Stop Time (Probably with a sub category such as Planned Stop, Unplanned Stop or Production Halt). These are usually expected to receive as machine/IOT data.Once data is in there, we have proper visualizations :Please refer the images below,By the way, i would like to request you to refer the Academy Materials in 21R1 to get a full process of this. How should I organize the maint org. to make the following scenario possible?

It requires more details to give you a full answer. However, in logical terms a User in Site 1 should have an access to Site 2, so that Site 2 can be selected as the Execution Site when reporting a fault. Please refer the image below, Is that a possible mapping ? since you have mentioned that these two sites are two different business units ?

Or is it bound to a Fault Type? - Yes it is bound to the Fault Type Shouldn't there only remain unique Causes, after the Fault Type is admitted? - No it should always be 02 records bound with Fault Type. When I select a Cause, from other than the Fault Type, the Fault Type is changed automatically… - This is correct behavior each unique cause has a Fault Type. -Refer the image below -

Serial Object - Operational Status

Hi @Mayura Wasantha The Selling site is indeed not the same as the Serial Object site. All Serial Objects are grouped into a Fictional company. This because we have multiple companies who need access to all machines, but not each others company. So the selling site could be part of Company A or Company B, but the Serial Objects are located all in Company C. Employees of Company A have access to Company A and C, but not B. Correcting the METER CHANGE - Total Value

I tried your test steps in one if IFS latest tracks.I can see the “Mark as Incorrect” option on the 02 records created for meter change (with wrong old value) refer the image below,Is this only appears for specific data set ? in which IFS Cloud version ?

I wonder whether the original site of the Serial Object is same as the site selling customer’s site is same here.In my suggestion, could you try it as below.First move the Serial Object into Inventory (current position In Facility to In Inventory) Then load it to a Customer Order. Deliver the Customer Order with both ‘Create SM Object’ & ‘ ‘Superior SM Object Id’

Move functional object between sites

We attempted to move a functional object from Site 1 to Site 2. However, after completing, it shows that the Object Site is still Site 1, but the Belongs To Site is Site 2. The PM’s stayed in Site 1. How do you move a piece of equipment so it also moves the Object Site? This is the existing behavior for Functional Objects in IFS Cloud. Since ‘Site’ has been logical key of Equipment LU, it is not technically possible to change it even after moving it into a different site. However, in 22R1 we made a backend refactoring of equipment entity, introducing a ‘new Object Sequence’ as the logical key instead of Object ID & Site. This made it possible to get rid of the barrier of not being change the site value. So far , this change has been only applied to Serial Objects. If you move a serial object from 22R1 onwards, it reflect the actual site and belongs to site, We have plans to do the same for Functional Objects in future.In the meantime, someone interested would be able to achieve

Hi a quick question, has it been handled through a customer order/ order line. ? In that case there are 02 tick options on the line. Create as SM Object, Superior SM Object. Were they ticked ? before the order is delivered ?

Media Archive no longer in IFS Cloud from 22R2?

Hi Mayura, just to make sure: this means that from 21R2 onwards I can store media items on a seperate file storage outside the Oracle database while all functionality regarding media items stay the same? In the technical documentation I read “File Storage is only supported in IFS managed cloud deployments”. So, what would be the way to store media items when IFS Cloud is hosted via third party? Hi again.Yes, from 21R2 onwards, we can store media items on a separate file storage outside the Oracle database while keeping all the functionality regarding media items same. There is a basic data setting to be done to select the repository type. PS : Transferring media between DB to File Storage (vice versa) is also supported.Btw, as you read it correctly, this is a limited to IFS managed cloud in 21R2. However this limitation will be lifted soon in 23R1 or 23R2 release.

Media Archive no longer in IFS Cloud from 22R2?

Yes it has removed with the introduction of File Storage Service. The below is the announcement in 22R2 Release Notes. “” 3.3 Removed FunctionsThe following functions have been removed in this release:3.3.1 IFS Media ArchiveIFS Media Archive functionality is used to store media files in a customer-owned Azure storage account for set archiving criteria. Since IFS Cloud File Storage becomes a generic capability from IFS 21R2 release, IFS Media Archive functionality has been removed from IFS 22R2 release onwards.”””””

By the way the “Detach” command is available now on the Media Card it self from IFS Cloud 21R2 track onwards.
