Apologies I thought I did.
Does anyone know if you can change the UOM for the shop order gap as i am trying to input 0.5 of a day (4 working hours) on a inventory part to space out the scheduling.currently MRP is scheduling multiple shop order operations of the same part to start at the same time on the work centre when we can only process 1 shop order at a time due to physical constraints. If changing the UOM is not possible is there another way i can achieve an half a day gap between operations starting through the work centre?regardsJamie
Hi Mattnot after cumulative lead time but only manufactured lead time of the product structure across all levels?
Malsha thanks for the reply, I think I was trying to use the system in the incorrect way.regardsJamie
Bjorn thanks that's a brilliant explanation. Reschedule all past due shop orders using forward schedule makes logical sense to me, that way you will also be able to create a more accurate weekly work to list (manufacturing list) for the shop floor operators to follow.regardsJamie
Martin thankyou for your answer. I think the problem is because we were trying to set a tolerance on manually issuing. Not sure how we can automatically issue liquid raw materials to operations using backflush as the actual usage will vary slightly from operator to operator and if we automatically issue the engineered required amount we will either be left with to much remaining material at the end of a contract or run out before we finish. Thanks for your help. RegardsJamie
Good morning Martin i have since tried that but it still let me over issue the material by over 10% to the operation, the shop order was at the released state when i made the change. would the change to the inventory part take effect immediately on all released/ open shop orders?regardsJamie
Naveena/ Bjorn thankyou for your replies. Bjorn if i am understanding this correctly should i set the reserve/ issue from to ‘only specified location’ on each of the components parts within the structure and then set the work centre for each operation within the routing that i want to issue material to, to ‘Reserve allowed’ and when i run backflush it will issue only material that has been reserved to that inbound location?regardsJamie
Martin thankyou for the information you have provided and I have checked the history tab like suggested and your assumption was spot on! kind regardsJaime
Hi Tharinduthankyou for your help, i was not aware of the operation block function in IFS.I will try this today to see if i can get it to work and plan the operations in sequence. Will this work for shop order that are already released or just at the planned stage?thanksJamie
Thanks ThushithaJust checked and you are exactly correct. I think the way we are using the work centres could be incorrect and not best practice. Within our one work centre we have 5 welding bays and 5 shop floor operators all set up to do a different operation within the routing and non of the operations can be done in parallel. The parts is processed in a standard lot size of 1. Currently when MRP runs it might schedule op 10 to 5 parts at once but in reality we can only work on 1 at a time.In your opinion would it be better to create a work centre for each of the welding bays so we are able to schedule with more accuracy?regardsJamie
