Hi If you are using database authentication, and your database is SQL Server, all assyst is doing is delegating to the database to authenticate the user. So the database will need a user matching your assyst user short code (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/t-sql/statements/create-user-transact-sql?view=sql-server-ver16) and this user will need associated with a login (again, a SQL Server concept not assyst https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/security/authentication-access/create-a-login?view=sql-server-ver16).

Hi So if you are using database authentication you are delegating the authentication step to the database itself. If that is SQL Server it would (probably) mean what SQL Server refers to as “SQL Server Authentication”, which typically would be a user in the database sharing the same name as the assyst user you are trying to log in as. Password is set against the SQL Server login object associated with that user.Hope that makes sense?

Hi An HTTP 403 response is “forbidden”. Is your session still valid when you try to access the customizer? If it is, are there any restrictions on your network that might prevent you downloading Jar files?

Hi Logging in depends on what authentication mechanism you use with assyst. A client like POSTMAN gives you GUI options to guide you through configuring the client to do this (on the Authorization panel). Any assyst REST endpoint can be hit, all require authentication. For example, to use Basic Auth from POSTMAN (if your server supports that) select “Basic Auth” and enter credentials.

Modification of System Forms

Hi Customize i.e. hide, reorder, rename fields etc. You can’t alter the design of a system form but can change how it appears to people. Key thing though: you need to be on a much newer version of assyst than you currently are to be able to use this feature. That is also true for lookups, 11.6 supports 18 types of custom look up for example (see https://wiki.axiossystems.com/assyst11-6Wiki/index.php/Installation:Creating_System_Field_Lookup_Filters_Step_by_Step) If you are looking for this sort of feature I would recommend you consider upgrading.

Single Select Fields on submission Form to be populated in Additional Fields or Runtime Parameters in Event Search

Hi Any shared public custom field will be available as criteria in monitor queries. If the form you are using has custom fields that are backed by a public shared field it should be available. For clarity, a custom field is unique to a form instance, you use a shared field to group custom field with the same logical purpose for use in query profiles, column profiles and reports. Modification of System Forms

System forms cannot be edited but can be cutomized, to a degree (though not on the version you are on).This is a new feature appearing with the new assyst UI (in v11.6 and up). We’re actively looking for input about what customers may want the application to do here, so I’d suggest you log the suggestion via the Ideas forum with your requirements.

Typically you can explore the API via a tool like Postman or similar. Whatever API tool work for you really. If you are considering an Integration it might also be worth talking to your account manager about support from IFS. Bridges and integrations are services we offer as consultancy.

Hi The REST API that assyst provides is available. You can use the RAML (GET https://{server}[:{port}]/assystREST/v2/raml) to start to discover its capabilities. GET https://{server}[:{port}]/assystREST/v2/serviceDepartments is the entry point for the Service Department resource GET https://{server}[:{port}]/assystREST/v2/products is the entry point for the Products resource assyst can also notify an integration of changes (see Destinations and the External Messaging System) Hope that is useful.

Expressions

Either should work - the properties they reference are synonymous. The manager is of the type contactUserDto which has an assystUserAliasShortCode and an assystUserAlias (which is of the type assystUserDto and has a shortCode property). However they will have different outcomes. How to use AssystRest to insert a batch of events?

HiThere’s no distinct API for a batch of events, each event would need its own request*. An example to do this might look like: Content-Type: application/jsonPOST https://{server}:{port}/assystRest/v2/eventsBODY{ “eventType”: 1, “affectedUserName”: “Bob User”, “affectedUserEmail”: “bob@company.com” // etc.} There are some examples here. (*there is a feature called “Object Graph” in REST which allows the submission of multiple objects via one request however there is no support for it with the /events resource yet - if its is of use to you I would suggest registering the request via our Ideas forum)

POST Operations for Events with Assyst API

Following on from what Caroline suggests, the assystREST API is designed to be discoverable, so issuing a POST request with a blank body should return meaningful validation messages directing you what properties are required (and from there you should be able to adjust your request). The mandatory properties will vary depending on circumstance. You are right that the schema defines no mandatory fields, this is because assyst contains a number of defaulting mechanisms (Import Profiles, Event Builders, Service Offerings, system defaults) which will default a missing value depending on circumstance. For example, if I issue this request to an assyst server: POST https://{server}/assystREST/v2/eventsContent-Type: application/jsonAccept: application/jsonBODY {} I get this as a response: { "type": "ComplexValidationException", "messageKey": "rest.exceptions.Exception", "errors": [ { "rule": "mandatoryEventType", "field": "eventType", "messageK

You could - though again that would be assignment before the action is taken. If the action itself is assign (or there’s any workflow that performs an assignment on the back of that action) the outcome may not be what you are looking for. If the action doesn’t reassign that will work (syntax as above)

It depends when the template applies. Action templates are typically used in assystWeb to populate the template for an action based on the current values of the event before the action is taken. They can’t use values from the action itself because the action has not yet been taken (if that makes sense)? For example the syntax would be $new.actionedBy.name for actioning user, or $new.event.assignedUser.name for the assigned user, however both of those values are only populated after the action is taken.If you need this sort of feature I’d recommend suggesting it in the Ideas forum

In 11.5 it should be possible to add a visibility expression to a custom group and place the system field in that group. Not a visibility expression directly on the system field but will do a similar job.
