We often find that when customizing Astea Mobile, certain out-of-the-box fields are implemented with control sections (Unsure of the terminology but they are essentially reserved areas):Control SectionThis allows us to delete fields within this section, however it doesn’t allow us to add fields to these areas, or remove the area itself. Meaning that if we don’t utilize the fields in those regions, it will leave large areas of unusable space on the view.I’m wondering 2 things:Is it possible to add fields into these regions via mobile customizer? Is it possible to delete the control region? Thanks!
There is a table in the database called gpsdata that logs technicians’ gps coordinates, currently it retains about 3 days worth of gps data per user. We’re wondering if that timeframe is configurable. (We want to extend it to 7 days).Does anyone know if that is configurable within the application?
Our dispatchers use 2 main methods to assign work - the dispatch console, and the service order info page. On the dispatch console, when you attempt to assign an activity to a technician that does not have the required skills to service an activity, an info prompt appears to notify the dispatcher. However, that same validation doesn’t seem to take place when assigning the activity from the service order module. We receive a prompt that “you’re overriding DSE function”, or 'SA already has something scheduled at this time, are you sure”, but not whether or not the technician has the required skills, which is the most important for our use case.Is there a configuration to enable this validation on the service order page? (operating on version 15.1)
I don’t think this is possible but wanted to check here because if it is possible it would be huge. What I’m dreaming of is having an API endpoint where we can specify the import template name, along with a json document/payload containing the data points used in the import. This would effectively be a low cost-cow effort way to create a new interface into the application, as we currently need to leverage IFS resources to create new endpoints for us.For example, I could create an import containing an API template to create a new customer, with (for simplicity sake) the parameters: Customer ID, Customer Name, NodeI would then send a request to https://company.astea.cloud/RestService/import?templatename=CustomerImportwith {“Customer ID”: “APPLE”, “Customer Name”: “Apple Computer, Inc,”, “Node”: “Node1”}in order to create the customer Apple.I of course realize that this is the typical role of an API endpoint directly instead of via import, however, as I mentioned, this would act as a method
I need to mass update a bunch of BPart records and update the descr_lang3 field for a large number of products. Wondering if anyone has the API structure to do this through an import as opposed to doing it individually via the front end. Thanks!
On the front end, when creating a service order, you can select multiple problem codes: Is it possible to do the same when creating orders via import? As far as I can tell you can only map the field to pcode_id, which would only allow for one. This is on 15.1
Is there a way to configure which fields are displayed on the order pop-up on the map view in mobile edge?
I have a bit of an obscure question that I received from our customer that I’m hoping someone here may know the answer to: They’re wondering how long the duration of time is in the customer portal is before you’re logged out due to inactivity. I see in the configuration editor there is a ‘Session’ parameter, however I’m not sure if this parameter is for internal sessions, or is also the session duration for the customer portal as well. Thanks!
I’m trying to build a process flow that would copy a field into 2 other fields elsewhere in the application upon an event. The string that I am copying is a varchar(2000), one of fields I am copying it into is varchar(200) and the other is varchar(2000). So what I’m trying to accomplish is writing an API that copies the leftmost 200 characters into field 1 and then entirety of the original field to field 2.Normally I would do this as part of the SQL query, but since this is being triggered by an event I don’t have that option.
(Version 15.1) We have some administrative team members that need access to our field teams’ expense reports in the ‘Expense Report Form’ module, but the only way I’ve been able to get them access to this is by bypassing security, which is not preferable for obvious reasons. Wondering if there is a role I can apply or something to get them access (I’ve tried the Financial Manager role to no avail)
Is there a more effective way of managing multilingual description fields than through XML API imports? Would love to move this responsibility to users that don’t work with imports.
