Thread & Websocket recommendations

Is there a good way to have some idea on what your Threads and websockets should be set to in IFS Middleware server?  We have increased these many times over the years but I’d like to be more proactive instead of waiting for a problem to crop up and after reviewing HTTP logs we can see we need more websockets. FYI - currently we are at 3600 Threads and 2700 Websockets.this query is reporting 3383 open connections.select sum(a.value) from v$sesstat a, v$statname b, v$session s WHERE A.statistic# = b.statistic#   AND s.SID=A.SID AND b.NAME = 'opened cursors current';

SSLHandshakeException on Middleware - Apps10

How to notify when background job hangs

We have many companies and many of these companies run multiple types of costing jobs.  These execute as background jobs in the early morning hours and often on weekends.  These jobs can take up to 2 ½ hours to run and they hold up all other costing jobs when stuck.   I would like to have an email/text message generated  to warn me when a background job is executing for more than 2 ½ hours.  Is this something I would create an application Server task for?    We  don’t have any so I don’t have any examples to look at.We don’t have weekend staff and I don’t want to have to remote in every Saturday to check if background jobs are behaving.

IFS Print Agent Installation Error

When I try to Install Service I am getting the following error:The installation failed, and the rollback has been performed.  Configuration system failed to initialize.Then when I Uninstall the service, I get this error:Failed to Unregister! Configuration system failed to initialize. Unrecognized configuration section startup.  (C:\IFSPRINTAgent_IFSPROD\IFSPrintAgent.exe.Config line 3)This is the contents of the IFSPrintAgent.exe.config:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><configuration>    <startup>         <supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.5"/>    </startup>    <runtime>       <gcAllowVeryLargeObjects enabled="true" />    </runtime></configuration>This looks identical to all other IFS print Agent installs.  Even so I have copied over from a different IFSPrint Agent and retried.  ( I believe I have 6 other IFS Print Agent Installs that are running but I haven’t installed a new agent in over a year.)Th

Enterprise Explorer won't start if Chrome Already open

We are setting up a new computer for an existing user.  It is running Windows 10 1903 and .NET 4.8.  We are running IFS Apps 10 UPD 12.  We will be installing UPD 15 soon (1 month).When the user uses our Group Policy link in the browser to start EE (in Chrome) it won’t start up.  We can use a desktop short-cut of the same content as the group policy link and as long as Chrome wasn’t already open, the short-cut works.  If Chrome is open, it won’t work.  It works fine in Edge.  Chrome version is the latest (102).  It looks like there is a way to transfer his accounts from Chrome to Edge so we might pursue this but Chrome is preferred by a lot of our users.  So far, this is the only upgraded computer that has had this problem and we’ve rolled out a couple of dozen so far this summer.We’ve reinstalled the Extension & MSI and Cleared his app cache.  Anyone have ideas on what else we could try?

Error message on Thin Client Login

We have 3 thin clients that can’t get logged in this morning.  Anyone ever seen this error message. We have around 150 thin clients so 3 is a very small portion but don’t know why this is  happening.  We are using Apps 10, upd9 and access IEE.

What windows versions are supported in Apps 10 UPD12?

There used to be a URL you could go to that tracked what OS versions were supported.  https://wit.ifsworld.com/Technology/prodcert/ProductCertification/SupportedPlatforms/10.htm It was very useful but it doesn’t appear that it is being updated anymore.  Is there another place we can go to get this information?

Call DBMS_DEBUG_JDWP

I have a developer that is working remotely.  He’s worked remotely for years but all of the sudden today he is getting an error when running the debugger.  The IP and instance name have been changed for security reasons in the error below. Connecting to the database {test instance}.Executing PL/SQL: CALL DBMS_DEBUG_JDWP.CONNECT_TCP( '1.1.1.13', '62868' )ORA-24247: network access denied by access control list (ACL)ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DEBUG_JDWP", line 68ORA-06512: at line 1Process exited.Disconnecting from the database {test instance}His IP ends in .18 now though instead of the .13.  How do we fix this so it is using the correct IP?

Document Management change of FTP Server

Because our old FTP site we used for IFS Document management was on an old Windows 2008 R2 server, we needed to set up a new site on a new Server  (And because our Network Admin set up new IP numbering scheme, I couldn’t just down the old site and reuse the IP on the new site.) The OLD Ftp site pointed to a file share on a newer server so the files didn’t need to move - just the FTP site that handles the moving and opening of the files needed to be changed. So I set up a new FTP site with a new IP address.  This works fine for the new documents but we need to shut down the old FTP site so all the previously uploaded files need their LOCATION_NAME changed to point to the new repository id.  I was instructed by IFS personnel to use the ‘Change Document Repository’ option - but that option in this situation ends up deleting the files. Makes sense when you think about it.  Old Repository points to \\myserver\myshare\myfolder New Repository points to same \\myserver\myshare\myfolder. How to skip Event action when prior step deleted on Approval Routing

We have a custom event that executes on a change to APPROVAL_ROUTING_TAB.  The problem for us is we don’t want that to execute when the reason the record changed in the Approval_ROUTING_TAB is that a prior step in the approval process was deleted.  (Users are supposed to remove steps from the bottom up to avoid this but frequently forget.) Is there a way I can tell that?  Do other fields besides LINE_NO get updated when a prior step is deleted?  Would it work to add an outer IF statement on the Event Action SQL code something like If &NEW:LINE_NO<&OLD:LINE_NO AND (All other fields New = Old) then  --skip the action because prior step was deleted. else --insert the existing sql code here end if;
