Mail Sender configuration.

My guess (and it is just that) is that the SMTP service in o365 is not allowing the account being used (s_azure.smtp) to send out as a different account regardless of what you tell it to do.  Most mail services can be configured to prevent sending as someone else during a message relay, which is part of how spam email works, and this might be what you’re seeing.Can you or someone on the o365 look into that configuration on the mail service side?Nick

How to process a scheduled database task n times per day

For this kind of scheduling where the timing is not equally spread out in the day (e.g. at specific times and not every x hours), I would schedule them as 3 different tasks.  This is simple to do and will give you the control you need, as well as making it easiest to adjust just one of the jobs in the future. But you will have too many jobs to manage.  Well, that really depends on how many of these you will have that need to run at irregular times.  In your example your asked about there would be only 3 jobs (rather than 1) so that is still the approach I would recommend. In reality I would be really surprised if you truly have such a large number of jobs that MUST run at irregular times during a day that requires this kind of split into different jobs.  If so, I would really try to align the execution times to specific minutes and implement similar to what @dsj suggested.  But again, I really can’t foresee why you would get to ‘

Also, you may need to set up a fake physical printer (really, a local print queue on the server) so it actually can be seen as a “printer” on the server, which is then just used in the PHYSICAL mapping in the file as noted before.For example, we have a local printer defined on our server which provides a local print queue on that server which doesn’t do anything, and that is what the logical is mapped to in the config file.I’m sure this is what your issue is… you need something mapped in the file.

2 questions:Is the PDFEMAILER logical printer assigned to one of your Report Print Task Templates inside IFS?   I suspect it is but worth checking. Is the PDFEMAILER included in the ifs-printagent-config.xml file on the mws?  I suspect this is perhaps your problem.  Even if it is not printing to a physical printer you still need an entry in this file, like the PDF_PRINTER does.  The mapping for each logical printer in the file should be something like this:     <PRINTER_MAPPING>      <LOGICAL>PDF_PRINTER</LOGICAL>      <PHYSICAL>DUMMY</PHYSICAL>    </PRINTER_MAPPING> HTH,Nick

Print screen IFS Lobby

Like @Rukmal Fernando said, I would just run IFS and put the lobby into full screen mode, and set the lobbies to auto refresh every 5 minutes or so.I would also suggest that:The dedicated account used to connect to the lobby only has minimal access to what it needs Keep the PC itself with no screensaver and keep it locked in a secure location/cabinet so nobody can get to it to use it for other things (if you don’t want anyone in production changing the actual lobby or e.g. streaming the football match during the day) Set the IFS account to have no idle timeout.  I’m not sure whether an automatically refreshing lobby will keep the active session alive indefinitely. Add the lobby page URL to the PC auto-start so that when the PC is restarted it will automatically return to IFS.Nick

IFS_QUERY_TIMEOUT setting

You don’t have any unit of measure on it… perhaps that’s the difference?  As you can see in my example I can define it as seconds or minutes using s or m but you don’t have either.  I’m not sure whether that will parse correctly without.

IFS_QUERY_TIMEOUT setting

@Malin Norgren Which version is this in?In 22R2 the change we needed for this was part of the odata config, which is configured in the relevant yaml file (e.g. custom-values.yaml).  When restarting the pods if you have a non-standard yaml file name you need to explicitly include the path+file in the command line, but if it is in the standard IFS filename I think it will pick up the file by default.For reference, here’s our 22R2 config that was added to extend the user query timeout:ifsappodata:  queryTimeout: 899s  maxQueryTimeout: 15m HTH,Nick

IFS Cloud - Move/assign a method to a new batch queue

That's strange.  In IFS Cloud I’ve found I needed to copy/paste or manually enter the method to the new line (i.e. not search) but I never had trouble saving it.Are you sure that your account and/or the system account are able to access the method?  The only other thing I can think of is that you may have a leading or trailing space or something in the copy/paste that is making that incorrect but isn’t visible.

Unable to create IAL as NOT live data in IFS Cloud?

@Tomas Ruderfelt that was it - thank you!  I had looked there to try to adjust but was trying to change the “Manual Update” from Yes to No which isn’t available.Pretty strange that when you create it as “Not live data only” it defaults to live data and you have to go and change it again, but this works for me now.Thanks!

Unable to create IAL as NOT live data in IFS Cloud?

@knepiosko thanks for the info but that is a step further along the process than where my issue is.  That objdate is used to control the fetch of only data changed since the last fetch.  In IFS Cloud in IFS Cloud there is actually a separate WHERE clause for the fetch/refresh where you can define that kind of thing (i.e. it is not a button to choose like it was in prior versions).The problem I have is that there isn’t a way for us to schedule the refresh to run at all… either full refresh or changes only refresh.  It honestly feels like I’m seeing some kind of bug that isn’t showing or creating the non-Live data IALs correctly, but I’m not sure how I prove that other than to create a ticket with IFS Support (which I have done).Nick

Error: "No access; Your system administrator has not granted permission to complete that action"

I would use the Debug console to track the call when the error occurs, and use that to identify what is missing.  It might be the report itself or it might be one of the System Privileges.Here’s a prior Community article that may help with the analysis… it isn’t directly the same but it guides at a high level on the process of using the Debug for this type of work: HTH,Nick

Crystal Reports Web Service Setup Problem

What date does depreciation begin on a fixed asset?

Thank you @gumabs .  I don’t see anything in there that really speaks to PO release date or Receipt date… what date would the Assigned Period or or Beginning of period use for consideration? As an example, since we are in Cloud, a sample Depreciation Method looks as follows.  I understand the idea of the Starting Principle for the depreciation but I have no idea what “date” it uses as the reference point.I hope my question makes sense and I appreciate your help.Thanks!Nick

Can you prevent Database Authentication in Aurena login screen in IFS Cloud?

Thanks @Charith Epitawatta but that isn't really what I’m looking for.  If I understand correctly, what you describe here is the way to force users, at a user level, to only use e.g. SSO. This is helpful but still leaves the username and password fields available externally.What we’re looking for is a way to disable or remove the option for database account username/password credential entry on an external/internet web (Aurena) page.  Anyone who wanted to log in using using database account credentials (for example the appowner) would then have to do so only using a direct database connection like SQLPLUS or potentially an alternate internal network version of the URL/page/client that still allowed it.Fundamentally there was something a bit similar in Apps10 where there were multiple ‘clients’ that could be launched - one which allowed Oracle DB account authentication (“Admin”) and another that could be used for SSO authentication (“Users”).Any ideas?

Problem with assigning privileges/roles

If you look at the User Details inside IFS do you see the expected permission sets granted?If you do see the expected permission sets assigned to the users then the Security Cache Refresh may not have worked as expected.  Run it from inside IFS itself and retest.Lastly, your script may not be taking into account any functional permission sets that are granted to the user permission sets.  I can’t tell if you have these or not but it is something to consider if the above items don’t reveal the issue.Nick

Custom LU field attributes

I would set up an Event that checks the record when it is saved, and verifies that it has a value and that it is a unique value (check against existing values in the table).   If it doesn’t succeed it could show a message and prevent the save of the record by the user.Over time the check to ensure uniqueness  might run slow depending on how large the dataset is, so something to keep an eye on.Nick
