Calculating travel distance through customization

Hi @ajayifs ,Task ETA, person ETA is generated using the geocodemanager class and yes this is possible with Bing, PCA and Google maps if you already have valid API keys. The interfaces have been implemented in the baseline code (not sure whether these are publicly available to access directly). But I assume similarly you could calculate this with FSM integration API (using fsm connect) without customization as well.

Resource getting created without start and end location in FSM

Hi @Mahesh Biswal,Please make sure that the person record has both starts work from and ends work at places inserted under the person_place tab. Location ID start and end will be picked up based on these two values (respective default address id is picked from the place as the locations)

Attachment cannot be created for a user

Hi @JuniSihombing ,Have you already added a particular role to the other working technicians? Also did you already compare the setup between both the new user and the existing (working) users? Looks like the problem is the attachment is not generated with the first BR when setting the status to completed. Did you already check the server logs to observe whether there are specific exceptions thrown by the time when the new user sets the task status to complete?

Multiselect Button on FSM Smart Client

Hi Saranga, Appreciate your support…. We tried writing the Custom code for smart client and we used the below function openPopup(); will this function works in the Smart client.? Regards, Murali Are you referring to the client script on smart client? openPopup function only works for web client.Or are you referring the client code level customization?

Hi @TatKhandM ,The selection button client script has been specifically targeted only for the web client, and I assume most likely the smart client functionality is handled through the baseline client code. Therefore, web client script will not work similarly with smart client. You may need to write custom code for this.

Hi @Miraj ,Not quite sure whether this is possible on web client. The baseline scripting or message translations, text do not support hyperlinks as far as my knowledge. May be you need to raise this to support and RnD to implement this as a function.

To set default value of a non-db field

Hi @JuniSihombing ,Looking at the metadata of your view, you have not enabled the In Database check box for the column that you have shown in the screenshot. This should be ticked for all the fields otherwise, it would not display your view’s results even though you have managed to map the keys with the primary table on the ui designer. Please make sure to check the in database option for all the columns in metadata although it’s a view. Also another question, can you explain the reason why have you put NULL as reoccuring / NULL as exclude_weekend? Aren’t those fields need to be set up according to a logic? May a CASE WHEN statement?

Exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Hi @JuniSihombing ,Have you configured an extension table in relation to the task table? Most probably this could be a reason to generate this error while the system is trying to export data for the extension table (if table data is present). Could you check whether the extension table has been setup correctly in the metadata and whether the keys are matched with the extension table?

Hi @vinotha You may need to add another new column at the end of the list and then make that field invisible on the properties so that the second column will adjust the width according to your column width. This is one workaround to get rid of this problem

Updating FSM Shortcut Images XML

Hi @InADaysWork ,You should firstly remove your old reference shortcut from the shortcut menu and then re-add the new one. (right click on the short cut and then click on remove button). The reason for this is, even though you have changed the icons, still it refers the old icon path in shortcut menu. Please remove the old one and add it again to the menu. Also a full cache refresh is required and if this still happens, please refresh the IIS pool cache (application pool). Anyhow I’d prefer all the shortcuts removed from your menu and then adding those back after the icons are changed.

@InADaysWork ,Are you referring to the icons displayed on the webclient menu? Unfortunately it is not possible to change the icons displayed on the webclient menu specially for the custom screens as all the custom screens display a common file icon. We have already raised this concern as a bug to R&D and however this will be fixed in the upcoming release U20.Again regarding the baseline icons displayed on the smart client menu can be overridden with custom functions.You need to find out the exact baseline function for the particular screen. In this example, let’s try to change the icon for the global code table screen.In order to change the baseline icons firstly you need to find the exact function id from the metrix_function_def table. In this example, I’m going to change the icon for the global code table as mentioned above. Then openup the custom functions screen from the smart client. Add a new function with the same exact function id for the global code table (GLOBALCODETABLE)

Hi @JuniSihombing,Either way, as the primary table does not persist these particular columns in the database, isn’t it possible to directly refer the columns from the view itself by creating the custom metadata for the view and then joining the view with the primary table keys on the UI designer? Once this is done, you can simply drag and drop the required fields to the ui from the view’s custom metadata and ideally it should show the correct results.
