The print agent in IFS8 suddenly stops working with an un-handled exception condition. Exception thrown by handler operation: EJB Exception.I have tried stopping and restarting the Print agent running on a dedicated windows server. I’ve also restarted the batchserver process on the Linux server where the IFS application is running.I’ve tried reinstalling the print agent and even rebooting the server where the print agent is running.The only thing I have found that clears the condition is to restart the IFS application on the Linux server. This causes a major interruption for my users.Any suggestions are welcomed. We successfully configured a print agent for IFS8 on a windows server and have been using it for several years. Occasionally, it will report that it is unable to connect to the URL of the application server, reporting that it is either not running or is not correctly configured. From that point on, we are unable to print anything from IFS.The application is running. The only way we have found to get printing working again is to stop and restart the ManagedServer1 process. This is a major interruption to the users because it stops them from using the application. Does anyone know why IFS printing is reporting it cannot connect to itself? Does anyone have an automated solution for the twice-yearly time adjustments for daylight savings?It is not very convenient to have to manually adjust it at 2:00 am on a Sunday morning.
I am trying to import supplier records into my IFS8 system using xml files generated by an external system. The xml files are supposed to be using utf-8 encoding. However, because some of the records are generated from Korean and Ukrainian sources, not all the characters are utf-8 despite the xml referencing <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>. As a result, when the connector reader gets the xml file, it reports:com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.io.MalformedByteSequenceException: Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence.And the file is not processed any further.Sometimes the control characters will clobber the xml tags, which nullifies the entire file structure.Aside from forcing the sender to reformat the data, is there anything I can do in IFS to compensate for the bad characters when the connector reader tries to pick it up?Here is an example of one of the bad xml files opened in notepad++.
I have configured the print agent in IFS8. When I start it I see it finds all the printers defined in the ifs-printagent-config.xml file. When I attempt to print, it finds the print job from IFS and reports the document was sent to the printer with no errors.However, the document never reaches the printer. Instead it creates a file identified by the highest IP address of the configured printers. Ex: The printer selected was 172.20.24.202 but the file created is called 172.20.24.219. This file looks like the printer command file plus the PDF that should have been sent to the printer.Why didn’t the document print on the printer? Why would it create a file when the log says the document was sent to the printer with no errors? Why is the file named with the wrong IP address?
This error was found in my ManagedServer1.out#####. I have implemented the IFS 8 Print agent on as windows server. The print agent starts and the log shows no errors. It successfully connects to the application but does not see the print jobs in the queue. The queue shows all jobs in “remote waiting” status.When I turn on debug in the print agent it shows it is “getting remote job” followed by “no jobs found” even though there are jobs in the queue.
I scheduled an IAL to run on the last day of the month at 4:15:00 PM. (trunc(last_day(sysdate()) + 16.25/24). It started at the correct date and time, but when I look at the background jobs for the day, I find that it ran every 10 minutes after that for about 8 hours. Then it stopped. It rescheduled itself for 11/30/2022 4:15:00 PM. You can see from the screen shot below that the last time it ran was at 12:05:27 AM on 11/1/2022.What would cause it to continue to execute every 10 minutes for 8 hours?What can I look at? None of the logs show any errors.
The old IFS Portal and the Customer Engagement Centers are gone.I cannot find any of my previous cases in the new portal and when I try to open a case I can only open it for IFS Cloud.- I have IFS7.5 and IFS8.0 systems with cases.I tried to open a case for this issue but none of the drop downs apply and it won’t let me leave them blank.
We still have an instance of IFS 7.5 SP6 where I have one user who is experiencing extreme slowness with IEE in the production instance. It can take 30-60 seconds to merely open a screen or to open a query after the screen opens. He does not have the problem in the test environments. No other users are experiencing any slowness in the production instance. It seems to be limited to just the one user.I have had him clear the IFS cache on his desktop (c:\Users\id\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0), but after the individual modules load, they continue to run very slow. It is not limited to a particular module either. I am looking for suggestions on what to look for, or how this could be fixed. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Even in later versions of IFS using IEE.
Is there information available that describes the installation process of IFS Applications 10? I have installed APPS 8, but with the architectural change in APPS 10, I assume the installation process is not the same.I am specifically asking for the installation detail in a Linux environment with an Oracle database.
I have an IAL that I want to duplicate in another IFS system. I do not have access to the original source. Does anyone have suggestions how I can extract the IAL and copy it to my other IFS system? Both are IFS8 running Oracle 12c.
I am interested in tracking user activity in my IFS8/Oracle 12c system. The type of information I am interested in is: When was a module or transaction last used? Which users are using which modules or executing which programs? What are the most frequently used modules or transactions? What modules have the highest CPU usage? When I query gv$session I can see the current users and what they are executing, but I am looking for historic data. I know this information might be available from Oracle OEM, but due to separation of duties, I do not have access to this tool.
We have a large number of users who have left the company and their IFS IDs are inactive. At the Oracle database level they are also inactive and our DBA would like to remove them. Does anyone have experience with removing users from the Oracle data base but leaving them in IFS as inactive. They do not own any schemas, events, triggers, batch jobs, etc.
