For 22R2, release notes came out late - on the day of the release. I’m unaware of any other major ERP waiting until launch day to inform their base what’s coming. Instead, both summary and comprehensive (yet trackable) detail is shared 30-60 days in advance. For 23R1, what can we expect around release notes - and when? The release is coming out later this year, so we’re now in the sweet spot to help us manage change in my experience. What I hope to avoid beyond (waiting until May 25) is having to go module announcement by announcement to gather the highlights. And then seeing bullet 15.7 on the release summary (under Procurement) referencing supplier hierarchies as something to consider when updating. Then have to go to the 23R1 help docs to learn about 3.4.7.1 Manage Supplier Hierarchy… Happy to share more of my past experiences and expectations via this thread or directly. Thank you,Russell
I’ve noticed that, unless you search for something without the need for any operators or luck, you now get nothing returned as search documentation results. This happens with all available IFS Cloud Documentation and makes it realllly hard to find anything unless you’re already on the application page when seeking page help. Has this been happening all along? We still aren’t live, but pretty sure I’m not mistaken. Type in Customer Invoice and you’ll get this:But Customer OR Invoice… nothing. Additional context:The online help documentation query language states the “text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT.For example:information retrieval: finds documents containing 'information' and 'retrieval'information and retrieval: same as aboveinformation or retrieval: finds documents containing either 'information' or 'retrieval'information not retrieval: finds documents containing 'information' but not 'retrieva
The most recent IFS Roadmap document covers 22R2 and 23R1 and states it’s updated twice a year. There are other community questions looking for the latest, and responses point back to the below link… but with no explanation to the missed cadence. When can we expect an update?https://community.ifs.com/product-strategy-and-roadmap-124
How do you all use the “ship via” field on your customer and purchase orders? Generic or Actual Name of the Carrier?BackgroundWe’re implementing now and I cannot wrap my head around the implications of using the field with precise carrier information; rather, more generalized like “OTR” for Over The Road or “ITM” for Intermodal or “BW” for Best Way / etc.The business is leaning toward precision, but we don’t typically pick the method and it can (albeit seldom) change the day of customer pickup, for example… and we have over a 100 carriers / the list changes / defaults on the customer change, too. Thank you,
