We are certainly aware of everything you mention on your post and we are definitely NOT going straight into PROD without prior testing. This is a large endeavor with many teams involved and testing started more than a year ago (with several passes already under our belt). We have crossed al the “T’s and dotted the I’s (gap analysis, mapping exercises, run logs, contingency plans, etc (the whole shebang...). My question is strictly related to a GO-LIVE approach AFTER everything was tested and we are confident we have solutioned the migration the way we wanted. This is purely a question specific to the scenario described above (migrating to a multi-tenant environment with a company already in operation). I agree with the fact that issues tend to show days/weeks after migration. I heard one horror story from a colleague regarding that when the company he was working for was not able to rollback, yet moving forward was almost impossible as well.Having said that, not so long ago we had a migration exercise in production where the leadership team decided to NO-GO (the details are long and boring but conditions were not adequate to proceed) on the migration weekend so the rollback was possible.In a scenario where a NO-GO occurs as part of the Migration Plan, rolling back with a backup is possible. Having said that, if you clone in a staging environment and do you GO LIVE there, and there is a decision to NOT proceed, a rollback is as simple as not cloning your STAGING into PROD as the last step. I have never migrated this way but I can see the value in approaching a go live in this wayClone PROD into STG on Friday (PROD starts FREEZE period) Run your whole migraiton in STG (Saturday/Sunday)

Thanks guys, you really hit the nail on the head with your feedback. Out of curiosity (and since I see how @MatthewConk has suggested slight differences in code) I have this question. Is semantically equivalent to create the attr_ value using just as string “as in my case” or the add_to_attr function?Do you see cases where add_to_attr not only is the “best practice” but delivers results than just crafting our attribute by constructing a string formatted the way it is expected by just assigning a string literal?I really appreciate all the feedback, this community is VERY helpful!

It definitely helps @dsj! I managed to implement the code that I needed with the code error handling that was necessary.The only thing is that I didn’t want to handle all the exceptions using the same logic, that is what I initially wanted to avoid using WHEN OTHERS THEN for all the exceptions and use a WHEN [EXCEPTION_TYPE] instead. I managed to selectively use a different approach but I ended up using the SQLCODE function like this WHEN OTHERS THEN err_code := SQLCODE; err_msg := SUBSTR(SQLERRM, 1, 200); IF err_code = -20110 THEN [CODE_LOGIC THAT IS SPECIFIC TO -20110] ELSE -- Simple raise Other exceptions that are NOT -20110 RAISE; END IF;Would you say this is the best practice? Thanks for taking the time to take a peek at my rather long initial post 😀 Can you share an screenshot of the 'Costs' tab and 'Misc Part Info’ tab of this Inventory PartSure I can… here is the Part Cost page for that part (Cost Group #1)Part Cost Page (Part Cost Detail Tab)Notice there is no cost for PIIAC, but that’s what I would have expected from a non-manufacturing site (for a Purchased Part).Then there is the Unit CostInventory Part Unit Cost Page (Unit Costs Tab)For this one, I would have expected to see a value on “Estimated Material Cost”. I’m not an expert on costing, but I find the other Customer Order Lines on this CO (that were processed just fine all the way to the “Invoiced/Closed” status) have a cost in the Estimated Material Cost. As for the other information you wanted to take a peek at, here is the Misc Part Info tab (IEE this time as Aurena has this info scattered in different places).Misc Part Info Tab on IEEAgain, I don’t see anything strange

Is it also possible to see it in IEE? the reason I ask you is because I created a test using an Event Action that should be triggered by the Migration Toolkit (which is part of IEE functionality but is not available in Aurena).What I did was this Step #1: Created an Event I created an event that is triggered upon new entries on MIGRATION_LOAD_RESULTS_TAB. This table (MIGRATION_LOAD_RESULTS_TAB) holds one entry per Load of Container information. In other words every time I load a container into IFS, a new row gets added Step #2: Created the Event ActionI Created a new action. A very simple one. To test the triggering of the event.It just writes an entry using Trace_Sys.Message(); Step #3: Load one containerI loaded one container...... and verified that this load generated an entry in the MIGRATION_LOAD_RESULTS table As a result of this test, an Event must have triggered and the

Hello Again @Pilar Franco!I get what you said.In fact I tried adding a cost to this part manually to see if that would solve the problem. What I did was thisI navigated to Inventory Part Unit Cost Selected “Modify Level Cost Details” On the “Modify Level Cost Details” I entered a cost (313.48) for Cost Bucket 110 (Estimated Material)After that I verified that my Inventory Part had a Unit Cost, as you can seeIn spite of that, when I try to register the direct delivery, I still see the same message…… I’m pretty sure I’m missing something silly… but what is it?

Hi @Tomas Ruderfelt Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I am afraid I didn’t use the right word to describe the type of execution I’m trying to run. The exact code I’m running is an Event Action, so technically it doesn’t run in the foreground but only when (in this case) the CUSTOMER_ORDER field STATUS changes to “Released”As you can see this is not, strictly speaking, a Background Job (now I realize the title of my post was confusing) but rather a task that will not happen in the foreground which is not categorized as “Background Job” in strict IFS terms.What I mean by this is, if I release an Order, that status changes and this Custom Event Action is triggered, yet if I have my Debug Console open and place a TRACE_SYS.Message statement here, it is not showing up.
I see @dsj, now it all makes sense.I didn’t know that Transaction_SYS.Deferred_Call will generate a background job that will be displayed in IFS like any other regular background jobs.With this info in mind, I’ll continue by logging the using @Tomas Ruderfelt solutionThanks all for your help!
