Something which came apparent when using this in the past, if you schedule the job with a small interval people who go on holidays get bombarded, also, if users have work phones the scheduler can run throughout the night… therefore its best to setup a few different schedules which run at fixed periods through business days…
Going back to the start, can you elaborate as to why you need to run the deferred jobs as another user? I’m guessing its a triggered event perhaps?
I’ve got a niggling feeling that the report if run as an export rather than visually in the application its run as one of IFS system roles… Does the report use any IAL’s??
@SHAUN_KERSLAKE I would also like to be kept up to date on this subject…
I agree with @anmise, you can reference any previously generated field values, this would be the easiest way as it means you can line up the API’s in a single job. Just from experience though, sometimes its best to split jobs as once you start referencing large views (such as parts etc) the migration jobs can become very bloated and difficult to fault check later on.
if its a regular report, you could schedule the report, this will give you the option of running the report possibly out of hours if its resource intensive. Under the settings there is the option to either email the the report or create a document in document management, this file can then just be opened instantly like any normal docman attachment.
you can / should also copy the profile, this is sometimes more important to the end user as it includes the appearance, saved queries etc This is via “solution manager \ user interface \ user profile” find the source profile, click “show details...” then RMB select the folder (or the whole amount) in the navigator choosing “Copy Values to Profiles...” then select the users profile you wish to copy too. need a hand give me a shout. Not as far as I know, the only limiting aspect would be upon which LU a connection could be made. Suggestion would be to create a custom view, listing the valid combinations of lu’s vs doc classes and then have an event which checks and rejects (with a message) when the combination is invalid. If you need a hand with the finer details give a shout. Rich
