Windows Patch KB5018410 May Cause Authentication Issues

Title:  Possible issue with use of Windows patch KB5018410 when also using Apps 10Problem:  IFS Customer Abzena Inc (Customer ID 6000055415) reported they were not able to connect to their Apps 10 instances after user applied KB5018410.  After uninstalling KB5018410 users’ access to the customer’s Apps 10 instances was restored.Recreated in core:  noRecreated in customer environments:  yesBusiness Impact:  Customer can’t apply Windows security patch KB5018410, which is a security update, to their devices which use Apps 10Importance:  Customer’s devices face exposure to issues resolved by KB5018410Case ID:  LCS - G2354136Request from R&D:  Please note the fact this customer has issues with use of KB5018410.  Also - please inform GSD Technology reply to this post whether or not any other customers have reported issues with KB5018410’s use.  @Markus Sandin

Calls to REST API Plsql_rest_sender_API - http_method changed from PATCH to POST #GSDTECH

Problem:  Apps 10 customer noted their calls to above-named REST API which were set up to use http_method value of “PATCH” were actually being executed with http_method value of “POST” instead.Recreated in core:  no.  Internal environments evaluated by IFS Support for this issue don’t contain PLSQL_REST_SENDER_API, the REST API used with this issueRecreated in customer environment(s):  yes - this happens consistently when called at customer’s siteBusiness Impact:  High - customer is blocked from development of a needed interface to their Salesforce software.Importance:  High (see above)Case ID:  LCS case G2294639Request from R&D:  Customer needs to find out why PATCH method gets changed to POST.  Their Salesforce installation requires the use of PATCH with this call. Additional Note:  An attachment sent by the customer as document with G2294639 has been attached to this post

ITAR Customer Security Questions Re. SSL Use With Apps 8 SP1+

Problem:  ITAR customer has a few questions related to use of SSL with Apps 8 SP1+ which they must answer for their internal auditors to demonstrate compliance with gov’t regulationsRecreated in core:  not applicable (not reporting a problem - instead asking some questions)Recreated in customer environment:  same as previousBusiness impact:  must satisfy auditors’ security concerns and comply w/governmental regulations before IFS installations will be allowed to proceedImportance:  customer follows up with IFS Consulting Services daily to check on our responseRequest from R&D:  Please respond to the following statements below by confirming whether customer’s own answer or proposed steps are correct.  If they are incorrect please respond by providing direction on how to make customer’s proposed steps correct.  They are trying to secure their Apps 8 SP1+ middleware to comply with governmental security recommendations.  NOTE:  the “customer / author” appears not to be a native English

How To Enable SSLFIPS For Apps 10 Instances?

Application Server Tasks Were Set to Cancelled Status - What caused this to happen?

Problem:  Apps 10 customer had some of their Application Server Tasks updated automatically to “Cancelled” status.  They would like to find out the possible cause(s) of this change.Recreated in core:  No.  Have only been able to get Application Server Tasks to “Fail” - but not to change them to “Cancelled”Recreated in customer environment(s):  No - this has been a one-time occurranceBusiness Impact:  Customer has been able to modify their Application Server Tasks to allow them to work since.Importance:  This is of mild importance to the customerCase ID:  G2318935Request from R&D:  What events can cause Application Server Tasks to be set to to “Cancelled” status?@Minoshini Fonseka @Anne Fernando - I believe this is related to Integration and Data Services...but if not, please help direct it to the appropriate SME within GSD.  If it is indeed Integration and Data Services related, please feel free to respond to the question.

Possible to Disable "Send E-Mail To..." feature of Report Format & Output for Order Report

Problem:  An IFS Apps 9 customer wishes to block its users from sending Operational Reports via the Send E-Mail feature of the Order Report screen (after the report has been rendered by IFS)Recreated in Core:  yesRecreated in Customer Environments:  yesBusiness Impact:  Customer wants to change their internal procedures to prevent their users from sending Operational Reports to outside destinations via the Send E-Mail To… feature of Order Reports.  They want to know whether or not Send E-Mail To… can be blocked / disabled.Importance:  moderate importance.  This customer relies on the emailing of some reports for invoicing their customers.  But this emailing must be done as needed or else invoicing / billing would be done incorrectly.Case ID:  G2296461Request From R&D:  Can the “Send E-Mail to...” functionality be disabled for Order Report?

Message Queue configuration question on "PRIORITY" (Apps 9 customer)

IFS Foundation docs say Priority in connection with Message Queues refer to “message queue priority” - with values 0 - 4 referring to normal priority and 5 - 9 referencing expedited priority.  PRIORITY for BATCH2 queue of an Apps 9 customer is currently at default value, i.e. blank.  What effect, if any, would changing PRIORITY to 4 for Print Agent-related jobs have for the customer?  Likewise for changing PRIORITY to 8 or 9?

Print Agent Debugger Option Available? #GSDTECH#

PROBLEM:   intermittent errors with customer’s Print AgentRECREATED IN CORE:  No.  Only occurs at customer’s siteRECREATED IN CUSTOMER’S ENVIRONMENT:  yes, but at unpredictable intervals (hence the request for additional debugging help)BUSINESS IMPACT:  intermittent need for repeating print job requests by IFS users and associated inconvenience to usersIMPORTANCE:  2-High Case ID: G2225593-B REQUEST FROM R&D:  Is it possible to provide a “debugger version” of Print Agent to customers which might display additional information upon print job errors?

Possible to Add Debugging to Print Agent software?

Would it be possible for IFS to produce a debugger enhanced version of the Print Agent for use by customers when undiagnosed problems turn up in a Print Agent service?  Such a version would merely have displays of key values added to route additional basic information to the existing Print Agent console.  Please let us know if A) this has ever been done before and B) if not, whether or not it could be arranged in a timely manner for this customer.  IFS Support asks this on behalf of a customer which has normal successful results from use of their Print Agent over 90% of the time but they occasionally will have a print job get stuck in Remote Waiting status on their print agent server.  Existing print agent console logs don’t give sufficient information to identify causes of the print job failure.  They only give an error message and state the job has failed.See LCS case G2225593-B for additional details of the customer and troubleshooting steps taken to date.
