I want to throw a question out to the community. Before applying UPD releases in your production environments, what type of internal testing do you perform to ensure none of the IFS native processes are broken? Such as logging on / off Shop Floor Workbench, Processing an Estimate, Opening/Closing Projects, etc. These would be IFS core functionality, that you as an organization did not customize. We have only been IFS customers for 3 years, does IFS historically release bug prone software? We’ve experienced bugs with nearly every UPD we released. The most impacted module for us has been the Estimating module. Some background into why I’m asking. We are currently running IFS Apps 10 Update 15 with TAS all on-premise. These would take 1-2 hours to install. In the past, we had been able to run the update deliveries ourselves without issue.I can’t say this for certain, but we believe since IFS went evergreen with UPD’s, we started having this problem during deployments. Our deployments now take 6-8 hours, and fail with an error. This errors appears to only impact TAS, otherwise after deployment is finished with errors IFS appears to function. During the update, it sits at a screen trying to update the locked files. During the update and after, we have checked for locked objects or blocking sessions and see nothing.Has anyone ever ran into this problem before? We do NOT receive this when we deploy updates in our DEV environment. Our DEV environment does not have TAS installed in it, so we thought unregistering TAS from our TEST environment and running the update would be a work around but unfortunately we still received thi
We recently performed a reconfigure on our middleware server to apply a new security certificate.Since then, our clients display a warning message when printing a quick report. It says “Client has requested to run in invalid local ‘en-US’. English, ‘en-US’ will be used instead. Correct your Locale Setting.You can click OK on this message and the quick report comes up and it can be printed. We do not use IFS Print agents. It also doesn’t come up for everyone, sometimes if you restart IFS it goes away.Has anyone else got this warning before?
I’m having an issue when trying to install the Scan It app and the Account Manager. I have an on-premise system running IFS 10 Update 8. Using Android, I am downloading the Scan It App, Barcode scanner, and then Account Manager to my scanner gun. When I start Scan It, it tells me I don’t have the account manager installed do you want to download it. I already have IFS Account Manager installed. I’ll download it, and it’s prompting me to enter a Cloud URL and when I enter my TAS URL it’s unable to connect. Has anyone run into this before and if so, what was the resolution? It’s almost like Scan It doesn’t recognize the Account Manager version hosted on my TAS and wants me to download a newer version. The new version looks like it’s for Aurena.
We are looking to simplify the login process for our manufacturing shop floor computers. Our plan is to have the clients launch from this link to bypass the IFS Landing page https://ifsserver:49080/client/runtime/Ifs.Fnd.Explorer.application My question is, can you pass login credentials to the IFS IEE client so it auto logs on? The only use for these workstations, will be Shop Floor Workbench.
Is there a way to suppress this document selection screen? We are trying to automate the printing of attachments through Shop Floor Workbench using the Create Reports button. There is a Print Attached Documents check box that does not really function in a practical manner (it’s on the IFS idea wall). In the meantime, we wrote an event that takes the Routing Work Guidelines and recreates those attachments at the Shop Order Work Guideline level to make this button work. The issue is that this dialogue comes up and you have to press OK before each attachment will print.
I’m running into an issue where, for employees that need access to many different areas of the system, I receive an error message “maximum of 148 enabled roles exceeded” after assigning additional permission sets to the user account. This is primarily for a few executive positions in our organization.I thought if I recreated a new permission set with all of my functional roles attached to the end user role, that would take care of the problem but it did not. What’s the best way to handle giving a user account access to the various areas of the system, without using IFSAPP_FULL?
Looking for feedback on an easy method to view and copy access from one user to another. For example, when a new employee is created they need added in many different areas of the IFS system before they can perform their job. I’ve listed a few as an exampleDocument Management Basic Data Approvals Quality Shop Floor Employee Basic Data Users per User Group Purchase Requisitions user Site Settings WADACO processes Maintenance Resource Time Clock TerminalIs there a method in IFS to run a report that shows you where a user ID is used in these areas so if there is a new hire, or role change - you can make the necessary changes in the system? I imagine you could get this data from the User Security Report or Object Security Report with the right criteria.
We are testing the scanning functionality of the Scan It app and noticed that in certain screens it drops the identifying prefix character when scanning and in other screens it does not. Attached is an example, the numbers circled in RED appear with the prefix in front of the scan. The item circled in GREEN scans correctly and it gets dropped. For example, Move Inventory Part drops the “Q” prefix when scanning but the screen before that which is Part No it does not drop the “P” Is there a place in IFS where you can set what gets dropped and what doesn’t? Or do you typically set that on the scanner gun itself? We are using Honeywell CK65’s
Is it possible to modify what the buttons do on Shop Floor Workbench? Or Add buttons? For example, we would like to change what the Report Tool button does. Instead of opening a Report, we’d like it to open the Create Fault Report Window. If that is not possible, could we add a custom button and name it Create Fault Report and have it link to the Create Fault Report window?
