Custom PL/SQL Function in IAL

@emiller3061 I don’t quite understand what you meant. Where is this custom function defined?I thought you defined that in one of the existing entity .plsql files. If you do that it will be automatically a part of that relevant entity API.In IAL we can write a view and it supports what a standard view supports in Oracle.

Custom PL/SQL Function in IAL

Hi @emiller3061 Have you used the &AO.. prefix before the API call when writing the IAL object?Also use an alias for the expression.Eg -:   IAL objects are created under IFSINFO (IAL Owner) user and the APIs are under IFSAPP (app owner) user. So to use objects under IFSAPP user we have to specify the user/schema before object name.

Settings for Power BI Embedded lobby

@NPGIFSJOMAII If you can get to the workspace and report LoVs that means the required services should be running (at least the powerbi embed service) and you should be able to fetch a token for the report provided everything is configured correctly.Is this a IFS managed cloud customer or remote customer?

Power Bi Infomation sources

Hi @Any ,Sorry I thought this is an IFS Cloud question.In apps 10 things gets bit complicated because there we don’t have cube configuring support using the application.There are no _TM in apps10 solution. There are IFSappl_XX, Dw_XXX, Dm_XXX tables and SSIS packages to move data between them. Then there is another SSAS project for the cube. All those has to be changed using SSDT or visual studio if you want to do a column addition like this.

Power Bi Infomation sources

Hi @Any The Business reporter tool directly work with the fact/dimension metadata in the IFS application and it will show all the fields of facts and dimensions.But in the case of Tabular models only some generic subset is exposed. If you want to expose more field then you have to do a configuration to get those fields into the tabular model.Parallel Currency field is there in the DIM_COMPANY but I don’t see Coordinator in DIM_CAMPAIGN.https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/23r2/050_reporting/600_analysis_models/080_customconfig/Go through above documentation and you can find info about modifying the models.In high level,Modify the _TM view of the dimension data source and add the column(s) you need. Modify the Tabular model tables and add the columns you need. Deploy the views to SQL Server DB. Deploy the tabular model Run data load. Process model.

Specially the last point - “​Give the Service Principal Access to the Workspace”https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/23r2/050_reporting/450_self_hosted_bi_int/080_create_aa_azure_resources/ Also if the PBI reports are running on Tabular models in Analysis service, you have to add the service principal as an admin to the analysis service as well.

'You have to set up the environment before using the tabular models

Hi @mrsweeney There is a feature to track the status of Environment setup and there we maintain the status of each step of environment setup.When there is a upgrade/update installation those statuses gets reset. That doesn’t mean the setup itself got reset but just the flags gets reset.When those statuses got reset this yellow banner appears because this banner logic checks the status of all environment setup steps.https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/23r2/050_reporting/450_self_hosted_bi_int/060_chk_env_params/#environment_setup_statusIf you are sure that the environment setup completed successfully before the upgrade, simply change the status of each step to “Success” using “Reset Status” command and this banner will disappear.If you have not done the “Environment Setup” ever for this environment, then you have to do the setup to continue using Tabular Models functionality.

Error in Data Load Run - FACT_GL_TRANSACTION

Hi @AccManisC,Check the SSIS logs for the failed SSIS execution ID using the view catalog.event_messages in SSISDB. That will be helpful in identifying the issue. You can find the “SSIS execution ID” from the “Data Load Run Items” list. You can also use the IFS application to get the logs as described in the following techdoc page but the above way is more efficient.https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/23r2/050_reporting/600_analysis_models/060_configdataload/#immediate_execution

Incremental load outside Azure

Hi @TIVMAGFRI,mvt_created_dt column originates from the oracle incremental load related table for the particular information source. mvt_created_dt will get the timestamp of when the incremental load executed on the oracle side data mart table.Eg :- GL_TRANSACTION_MVT is the data mart related table for FactGlTransaction.https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/23r2/050_reporting/500_information_sources/050_data_mart_access/010_overview/015_incr_load_of_is/https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/23r2/050_reporting/500_information_sources/050_data_mart_access/040_handling_incremental_load/If you correctly configure the incremental load for the data mart, then the mvt_created_dt will get the correct timestamp for the new and modified records. Then that value of mvt_created_dt will flow to the SQL server DB through the data load run process.If you are seeing same mvt_created_dt for all records I guess that means the data mart table in Oracle is always getting a full load instead of an incremental load.Eg :- Ch

FACT_ACTIVITY_CALCULATION_BI Error

You should get the SSIS packages also with the UPD22.I’m not sure about the exact file path in customer’s code base, but you should be able to find the files in somewhere like →  projft/external/BIAnalysisPackage/SqlServer2014/SSIS/SSIS/xxxxxx_FACT_ACTIVITY_CALCULATION.dtsxCompare the new files with your existing SSIS files to see if there are any differences. You can use SSDT for that.

FACT_ACTIVITY_CALCULATION_BI Error

@MarkMr The data flow goes like this,_OL or _DM view(oracle) [1]→ _BI view(oracle) [2]→ IFSAppl_FACT_ACTIVITY_CALCULATION_BI (sql DB) [3]→ Dw_FACT_ACTIVITY_CALCULATION (sql DB) [4]→ Dm_FACT_ACTIVITY_CALCULATION (sql DB) Steps 2, 3, 4 are handled by SSIS packages.I think the issue here is you are still using old SSIS packages which have references to [ACTIVITY_CLASS_SEQ] column. Since that column is removed in the Oracle side now you have to modify the SSIS packages accordingly or use the updated SSIS packages for UPD22.

FACT_ACTIVITY_CALCULATION_BI Error

Hi @MarkMr ,What is the application version you are working on?Access views are a kind of a custom view created by the customer using “Create access views” functionality. It is created based on the _OL or _DM view of the fact.If there are custom attributes defined for the fact, then those will be also part of the access view.When there is a modification to the _OL or _DM view through an update or custom attribute addition/modification the current _BI view will get invalid because it still refers to the columns of the previous object.In this case first thing to try is recreating the access view.https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/23r1/050_reporting/256_br_and_a/050_integrations/080_external_access/010_access_views/010_cremanageaccessviews/

Analysis Models - Issue in setting up Tabular Models

Hi @himasha.abeywickrama ,It seems like the modules containing the facts of these 2 tabular models are not active. If the customer is not using these functionalities then it will be meaningless to use these tabular models because there will be no data in the application to be fed to the models.

Analysis Models - Data Load Run Error

Hi @himasha.abeywickrama,We extract data from IFS Cloud Oracle database and load into SQL server database using “IFSINFO” user account.It seems like you are using wrong credentials for the IFSINFO username and password secrets.There should be another error message “invalid username/password” in the SSIS error log for some other data source.During the data load when multiple requests are made with wrong credentials eventually the account gets locked and we get this error message.unlock the user account (https://www.oracletutorial.com/oracle-administration/how-to-unlock-a-user-in-oracle/) and then check the secrets for IFSINFO username and password in the ifscloud-values.yaml file.ifscore.passwords.ifsamIfsinfoPassword ifscore.secrets.ifsamIfsinfoUsernameI assumed this is a remote installation. If this is a IFS managed cloud issue might have to check the secrets in the key vault and see if they are working.  Make sure that you can connect to the oracle database using IFSINFO user  using
