Hi Shawn, What is the PLM system? Ricardo.
@Shou ,I can help. Feel free to contact me in private. Ricardo.
Hi @addperpes ,The first release of our off-the-shelf CAD/PDM/PLM connector for IFS used the CAD Integration API (which, unless I’m mistaken, was originally created for ETRAGE). Unfortunately, it proved to be incomplete (and, sorry to say, a bit flaky), so we switched to the .NET Access Provider, which has served us and our customers very well for 4 years now. However, the latest release of our IFS Connector uses the Rest API (a must for IFS Cloud 21R1, as @Mathias Dahl so rightfully says ), while retaining backward compatibility with IFS Applications 8 through 10. At the risk of sounding self-serving, I can only recommend considering an integration solution such as Agni Link, which offers proven off-the-shelf connectors for both Autodesk Vault and IFS Applications 10, and are highly recommended by IFS customers.
Shou, I cannot speak towards the CAD Adapter, but Novacura has developed an integration for IFS and Dassault Enovia. The integration uses xPDM and parses the XML provided to convert to IFS Engineering Parts and associated structures. In versions 20x, this can be replaced by REST web-services. As a low-code development platform, Novacura Flow, allows for the flexibility to develop the integration to customer specific requirements through citizen development. If you would like to discuss further, feel free to direct message me. Thanks for your answer. I would like to ask, currently IFS perfer Dell-Boomi as its Intergratin Partner, so, instead of Novacura , does Dell-Boomi also offer CAD file intergration? @Shou ,Based on our recent research, Boomi does not have integrations with any CAD, PDM or PLM applications whatsoever, which is not surprising. Such integration is not a suitable use case for Boomi.
You may also want to consider eliminating the intermediate Excel transfer file, and go for a live, bidirectional integration with real-time data validation:https://elmosolutions.com/erp-integrations/ifs-cad-pdm-plm-integration/ Hope this helps, Ricardo.
@MBENSE Hi Martin,Agni Link can transfer a CAD/PDM/PLM structure/BoM to any object in IFS, as long as they the BoM items in CAD/PDM/PLM can be mapped to IFS records (parts, quotes, orders, even) along a one-to-one relationship. Actually, it does not even have to be BoMs… We have an IFS customer who uses it to transfer quotes from a legacy quoting application, as well as Engineering Change Orders, to IFS. Hope this helps, Ricardo.
