Hi Anjula - Unfortunately it will not be possible to correct this in Update 3. The best way to get the fix would be to go to the latest update for FSM 6, which is Update 5. If that is not possible, then your hands are tied. The only other way to get the correction would be to have a hotfix. Only severity 1 or 2 issues will be considered for hotfixes though.
Explicit call business rules are ones that execute not based on some event such as a row being inserted or updated, but rather these need to be intentionally executed from within code. There are several of these business rules that are part of the baseline solution, but they could also be used as part of a customized solution. In those cases, they would need to be explicitly executed from the customized code (e.g. an over-ridden policy or some custom mpm).
No, it is not currently possible to make use of IQA a required step in the request, task or RMA process. There are ways that you could do this though. One possible solution would be the following: Utilize one of the request user_def fields to track whether or not IQA has been done. Have the last IQA step update this user_def field to the appropriate value. Add custom policy or business rule to prevent advancing of request status until IQA has been done.
No, this is not currently possible. If you feel this would add value, then please add this feature request to the idea wall.
No, this is not currently possible with the out of the box solution - as you mentioned, surveys are tied to tasks (or requests). One possible solution might be to create a first task and have that be the tech’s first assignment of the day. It wouldn’t be a task for a customer and wouldn’t require any travel or anything like that, it would just facilitate the tech doing the survey.
There is nothing called “Non Part Usage Disposition” in FSM. There are the following: Part Usage - this is used to record the parts usage against a request, task or RMA. These result in inventory transactions (i.e. taking the used parts out of stock when the usage is recorded). These can also result in billable lines being added. Non Part Usage - this used to record non-inventory items (e.g. labor, misc expenses, etc). There are no inventory transactions related to these lines, but they can also result in billable lines being added to the repair. Part Disposition - this is used to facilitate the return of items back to a warehouse or repair center. An example of this would be if you are replacing a battery in an item you are repairing. When you pull the old battery out, you need to return it to some location so that it can be properly disposed of or refurbished. There are much more detail for all of these that can be found in the FSM Reference Guide.
