Hello, Currently our set up does not include item received but not yet inspected. While a PO is in open status MRP looks at the open order and considers it in MRP evaluation but once that item is received yet not approved for use it is not considered by MRP and I am prompted to order more of this item sitting in limbo until QC inspect and approves it. Now on the other hand this works well for our finished goods of which we do not want Sales to see the items as available until QC has completed their inspection. Seems like we are missing something in the set up here. Any suggestions? Thanks, Philip

Headless Presentation Object Scanner

Hi, Some time in the short future, I’m extracting the presentation object scanner to a standalone headless application, which can be run directly after deployment. This way, no developer has to create these beforehand, nor do they have to remember to log in after the deployment has completed. I was wondering if there is general interest in such a tool, and if I should bother sharing it at all?

Scrap Approval Flow

Is there any way to implement some sort of approval flow when entering scrap for an inventory part so that if a certain scrap code is used, it then must be approved? Some scrap codes we use need to be verified/looked at, while others are considered normal process types of transactions. With all that said, we do not (and do not want to at this time) use the scrap functionality from the workbench.

Lobby Drill-down Issue

Hello! We’re facing a problem with layout upon drill down from lobby. When we click a specific record from lobby, the system shows default layout instead of displaying customized layout. Any way this could be resolved?

default to saved search in aurena LOV?

In IEE on an LOV, you can set a default saved search. Is there a way to do something similar in Aurena? For example, we built a saved search on expense sheets so that the only work orders a person will see are those that are assigned to them. Otherwise the LOV has way too much to navigate. How do you do that in Aurena?

Unable to start Middleware Server

We just refreshed our test environment from live. Now used stop_all_servers.bat to stop all servers. All servers successfully stopped. However upon restarting servers the script is stuck at Starting server ManagedServer1…. Any idea what could be the reason. Looking at the logs it shows The server 'ManagedServer1' with process id 21880 is no longer alive; waiting for the process to die.

Translation of EE client language

Is it possible to translate text in EE client? Shouldn´t this also be in database like all other translations? For example, change a text in a EE form from “Create Disposition Data” to another text on NCR form.

Rejected Incoming Customer Orders

We have EDI orders coming in for a specific site (1S). The customer is setup to receive the ORDERS message. The orders are hitting the Connect server and I can see the 850 XML file from the Explore Application Messages screen as it shows the message was posted to queue IN1 and Finished successfully. However, the order does not show up in the Incoming Customer Order screen. In the Connectivity Inbox Message, it shows the order was “Rejected” but does not give an error message as to why it was Rejected. Has anyone else experienced this issue or know the cause?

Viewing all background Jobs

Hello, We have a ‘super user’ in the business who wishes to view all background jobs; however currently can only see jobs submitted by themselves. I know by granting system privilege ADMINISTRATOR would enable this, however it would also give them too much access. Is there a way of allowing them to view all background jobs without giving them full admin access? They also wish to view scheduled database tasks...so same question will apply to this area We are using Apps 8. Regards Shaun

Formatting in reports

Hi All, We are using IFS 9 and we have the following problem with reports: In much description-fields the text will be formatted by the user using tab key. These descriptions are "unreadable" in reports designed with IFS Report Designer or Crystal Reports: The C#-forms shows us probably more spaces for a char(9) as the database? How can I show a "nice" formatted text in the report? Can anybody help me? Best regards Lucie

Tip: Could you disable the Shop Order Re-Open?

During manufacturing operation(s), it very well may be the case that you'd want to restrict the Manufacturing Employees from re-opening the Shop Orders based on your exact requirement and operating guidelines. In this scenario, you may edit the user profile settings as follows: 1) Navigate to 'Users' screen 2) Click on 'Create New User' 3) Search for the User Identity in question using the Search Option 4) Locate the User Setting enabled for this user (Permission Set) from the navigator 5) Click on this enabled permission set 6) Click on the 'View/Edit Permission Set' link 7) This opens the Permission Set (in more detail) 8) Select the 'Database Objects' tab 9) Enter 'shop_ord_api.open' in the search bar, and click on 'Find' button 10) Select the Database Object(s) - 'Open' and 'Open_' 11) Upon each selection, you may uncheck the method calls pertaining to Open and Open_ against the SHOP_ORD_API as the logical unit/package

WHERE clause in Custom Field

Hi, I have created a custom LU and one of fields requires LOV. LOV view is a standard view and I want to pass a WHERE clause. In this case, view is DISCRETE_CHARAC_VALUE and I always want to get records in LOV WHERE CHARACTERISTIC_CODE = ‘ABC’. How can I get this done? Appreciate your response. Thank you.

Rolling updates, zero downtime, clustering and load balancing

Hi, I would like to know if Enterprise Explorer would handle rolling updates in this scenario: Cluster of 2+ nodes NGINX load balancer The process for applying updates would be: Take down 1 node Does Enterprise Explorer switch over to a new node seamlessly without crashing and kicking the user out? Apply the client delivery to that node Bring the node back up Repeat the process for all nodes… Profit? Is this scenario possible without EE crashing? NOTE: We only deliver client updates using the installer. Database changes are done manually to prevent downtime. This also cuts the delivery process to a couple of minutes, instead of hours.

IFS Business Reporter (App10/ Ver 5.0.8.0) Export option missing

Hello, A user recently brought to my attention that the ‘Export’ button is missing from the IFS BR ribbon/ toolbar in Excel when the report is run/ exported from App10 IFS IEE. We are currently using version 5.0.8.0. Additionally, the IFS BR ‘Export’ button seems to appear in Development mode when logged in to IFS BR application on PC. Is the recommended workaround to use the native Excel ‘File → Export’ functionality?

Unable to add manufacturing time in IFS V10

When manually adding a Mfg Clocking in Time Card Day we receive the error "This transaction only supports Machine, Labor, and Subcontracting cost bucket cost types. For cost bucket cost bucket cost type is ." Defined cost buckets appear valid. Failure of a cost bucket and cost type to appear in error text suggests cost bucket is not being linked to the process. I have reproduced this error with the app owner account to rule out access issues. Labor class and availability for this employee appear fine. Workaround: No. Business Impact: Testing and resolution is required for Apps 10 upgrade project to proceed. Environments/Databases: Apps 10 IFS Test Test Scenarios: Go to Time Card Day, load employee 006904, find a day with a labor clocking, go to Mfg Clocking tab, RMB > Add Labor Clocking. Enter a valid Operation ID, such as 83243, and reasonable start/stop time stamps within the labor time window for the employee. Other fields including Labor Results will auto-popul

Hi, I am trying to send parameter from one element to HSPTEXT element, it is possible with counter element. However is it possible with HSPTEXT element IFS Version: 9.4 Also, I am trying to center the text on HSPTEXT. Due to the title part, it does not centralize. License violation?

We are developing custom fields and custom LU’s in a customers IFS 9 Environment. We will also be developing new report files (.rdl) that contain custom logic on custom fields. These .rdl files will not be sent to IFS Harvest as they contain custom logic and will not be accepted by IFS. We have also developed a custom API which has custom logic written as per IFS standards. we accept full responsibility on the support of all these configurations if any issues arise in the future. we will not be making any changes to core IFS code and will simply be using the configuration tools provided to us by IFS. My Question is - Based on the nature of this work does this violate any IFS license?
