An Advanced Search In Context

I have already added this to IFS Idea wall some time back. When we do the ‘Search in context in any window in IFS Application, to find the relevant column we have to go through all the columns from the top to bottom until we find the one we need. Depending on the number of fields available it may take very long time user to find the relevant filed and do the search. As an example if we want to search GL Voucher row analysis window by the voucher date and to a particular date, we have to RMB and select the ‘Search In context’ and find the date filed form the rest of the other fields. My suggestion is… If we are already in the given window and if we have selected particular line and a filed, when we select the Search In Context, application can open the search window where the given filed is already filled with the value which was in the selected line. As an example if we select a line in ‘GL Voucher Rows analysis’ while selecting the voucher date filed of any given line, the se

Income statement on given date

I am creating income statement using SQL. I am also using report generator. The requirement is from my boss to see income statement on given date. The costs which are not known would be taken from budget tables. There are following questions on how to solve this problems. Is there possible modification of report generator logic to run the report on given date ? The budget amount should be used proportionally to current date. For example today is January 13th, so January budget should be multiplied by 13/31. The alternative is to use SQL report which result after period end would be comparable to report generator results. IFS Account Node Dimension Join

Hello, I am trying to determine how Account Node Dimension data is joined to database view FACT_CONSOL_BALANCE_OL in an APP10 UPD 5 environment. In IFS Business Reporter, the dimension is identified as ‘DIM_ACCOUNT.NODE_DESCRIPTION’. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Minus sign in IFS Reports

Hi All, We noticed that the minus sign for currency figures in IFS reports is different based on language. Eg: Seems that English is used short minus (U+002D) and for the Swedish uses long minus (U+2212). Pagero OCR does not recognise the long minus so it causes trouble for customer. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution? Example in Apps10 UPD 5: Invoice Left: English Right: Swedish

IFS Apps 9 logon caching

In IFS Apps 9, how does IFS runtime client store “caching” the username and password that is used on the IFS login screen? Our client is running into an issue where no matter if they tell it to save the password it keeps changing what user is logging in. Only exception is IFS is launched through a shared ClickOnce (ifs.fnd.runtime) application using RDS, not via URL. Other option is to figure out a way to suppress or grey out the Extended logon options: Please advise.

IFS Jobs Taking longer to start

We are experiencing problem with batch queues taking much longer than they are configured to start background jobs posted. E.g Fast Queue is configured to execute every second with 2 processes. However, I see the jobs are posted to the queue but takes 2-5 mins to start. I have reinitialized the queue but still cannot see the difference. Same happens with other queues. What could be the problem and where should I be looking at? There are no Executing jobs which the queue should be waiting for either. DBMS Scheduler was crashed today and we had to restart database and enable scheduler.

Labor Rate Dilution

We use labor rate dilution for one of our companies. The process only works when the week ends on a Saturday because I have to run by process for an entire week. I was wondering if anyone out there uses labor rate dilution and what do you do when the month does not end on a Saturday. Thanks everyone!

Push a Lobby out to users

We are updating to IFS10 currently, and have created new Lobbies for each base profile. I am able to change and push them out to the base profiles, however; if someone has created their own start/home page, it saves that to their personal profile. For those users, is there a way i can have the base profile home page overwrite their personal profile without clearing their personal profile or manually updating all 600+ users personal profile? Any help would be awesome!

Hello everyone, I am not able to join part_catalog and technical_class_reference as the key_value in technical class reference includes after the part_no this character ‘^’. select a.part_no, b.technical_class from Part_catalog a INNER JOIN TECHNICAL_OBJECT_REFERENCE b ON a.part_no = b.key_value I tried to get rid of the last character of key_value which did not work: select pc.part_no, tor.technical_class from Part_catalog pc INNER JOIN TECHNICAL_OBJECT_REFERENCE tor ON pc.part_no = (select SUBSTR(tor.key_value, 0, LENGTH(tor.key_value) -1)) I never had such an issue in IFS. IFS 8 Crystal Web Server sessions never exit.

As users run Crystal Reports in IFS 8 the Crystal Web Service database sessions never exit, they continue to stack up during the day and must be manually killed. Any thoughts or settings that can be made to stop this behavior?

How to handle 3rd party parts for Repair in IFS

We are a Manufacturing company, along with our own products we repair products from other manufacturers, As of now, we have a generic ‘Non-OurCompany’ part number and we repair under this Object Id in our quotations. Moving On, the vision is to registering outside vendor’s parts in our system as Serialized objects to track history or repair etc. I want to know What could be the best practice in this case? How other businesses are dealing this scenario. Is this handled in IFS someway… doesn’t feel good creating so many parts in our system that we dont keep in inventory and we dont sell. Point me to some real use cases or reading material to start my research to figure out if this could be a good route for us?

Email Event for Purchase Order and Customer Invoice to multiple individuals

We have a need to send purchase orders to multiple people at the supplier (procurement and quality group for example). How do we do this with an Event? We have the same issue with Customer Invoices needing to go to Customers (Procurement, Quality and Finance). If we have one, we would be able to figure out the other.
