Dear community, When printing a report from IFS there is a setting that the users can choose per report, for Number/Date format. For example en-US for USA and en-AU for Australia. This obviously changes the Number/Date Format per the setting. (see example below) I cannot seem to find where you can control this per user. Any ideas? Thanks,

IFS support help desk and ITSM

We’re trying to formalize our support process for IFS tickets (i.e., more sophisticated than email/phone requests), since these are handled by a different team than our general IT support for users/infrastructure/requests. We are considering using Remedy for our ITSM since that’s what our helpdesk team currently uses - has anyone had good or bad experience with Remedy or any other ticketing system for IFS support? We’re also trying to figure out which tickets (beyond password resets and unlocks) can be easily handled by our helpdesk, who are from a 3rd party company and not close to business operations. What have other IFS customers been successful with?

Document storage recommendation

Hello, are there some “rule of thumb” recommendations about document repository storage with IFS Apps? Qualitatively, it’s sure that if there is a “big” total volume of documents and/or large individual documents, it might be safe to store on file server rather than as BLOBs in Oracle DB. But the question is how big is “big”? Are there some metrics, returns of experience about this?

Make events work on both apps 9 and 10 when tables are different

Hi all, We have an event on shopord.work_instruc_printed (apps9). When testing on apps10, we realize that the field, work_instruc_printed, does not exists. We obviously have to rewrite the event, but can we somehow have it work on both 9 and 10?

Crystal Web Service Explore Quick Reports Permission Issue

Hi, What would be the probable cause and resolution for this issue. The Crystal Web Service has been set up on a test application server all necessary components and grants are in place from what I can see. I have tested the report services to pull back a report from an invoke which works fine but the application isn’t picking this up through the affiliated application pool. It references lack of permissions to the virtual directory but from comparison to Live it looks to be the same with the values changed accordingly. Many Thanks,

Navigation for lobby element/data source based on IAL

Dear all, I created a lobby element based on an IAL. The navigation from the counter to the target-window does not transfer the result even if I use the option “Use data source condition”. Instead the target window is populating all data. For “non-IAL” data sources the target-page gets the right values. Is there a trick how to make that work for IALs? Thanks a lot in advance! Whats the easiest way to copy user permissions/roles to a new user?

At the moment, am pulling either the user screen and using one in summary mode to copy from and check the permissions set on the new user. I have tried the grant permission set to user grid, and even that can be cumbersome. Is there an easier way to do this I am missing? Thansk

Apps9 TripTracker mobile app question

We’re looking to set up and use TouchApps in our Apps9 environment, and have managed to get several of them working OK using iOS devices. That said, I have a problem with the TimeTracker app where it errors when trying to sync during login. It just keeps looping with the green sync running followed by this error. I’m not sure if this is related to security - there is no permission set script that can be generated from the TAS server - or if this is something else. Can anyone provide any guidance or point me to some documentation I might be missing? Thanks, Nick

FSM Mobile - data reflection in back office

hi can anyone tell how to reflect the data to smart client or back office . i am wrote a script for mobile using the setdbvalue(stringformat(“update person set user_def12=’{0}’ where peron_id =’{1}’”,y,personid)); here y and personid is parameters that i am passing . the script executes but the data is not reflected in back office or smart client , so anyone tell me how this can be archived . thanks in advance .

Schedule MS with multiple sites

Hi, Is there a way of running the “calculate MS level 1” in a smart way. We have multiple sites and we are distrubuting slaes parts betwen them all. To get the drive thrue the system now i need to run them all two times. Sie 1 Site 2 Site 3 Site 4 and then again Site 1 Site 2 etc So All sites has shared Theres needs to each other. We hare sending parts from site 1 to site 2 and 3 and we are sending parts from site 2 to 1 etc. Is this the right way or? (I posted the same question in bying as well, no respons there) Br Jerker

Inventory part barcode report does not have shop order number?

We are trying to customize the Barcode Label report which can be executed from the Shop Order screen: The problem is when looking at the database to see the database view INVENTORY_PART_BARCODE, it does not contain the shop order number. I am a little confused why this key information is missing. Does anyone know how to link back to the shop order number for a report like this one?

System generated image for supplier invoices

When receiving an Invoice from supplier thorugh EDI we have no picture file included. In IFS External supplier invoice parameters you can tick the option Create Image. System will then create an invoice image based on the received data. This part is working , we can find the invoice image in report archive but is there a way to set system up to automatically check this in to docman to invoice and posting proposal?

Document available on all screens for a user.

I have an end user that would like to have a note or document available to them no matter the screen they are on? Is there a way to attach a document to the user so that it is always there for reference? The document is currently a spreadsheet referenced outside IFS.

Document Attachment Issues - msoshext.dll

We are running Apps8 Sp1+. About every 9 months or so, our client user PCs receive Microsoft Office updates that put the file “msoshext.dll” back on the workstation. This is an Office DLL that corrupts the operation of IFS browsing within the Doc Management browser. We usually end up renaming the DLL so it doesn’t interfere and all works well again. Has IFS ever addressed this issue?

When looking at the Engineering Part Navigator I can see the Engineering Revision for the structure that am reviewing. When I create an equipment object I provide a Part No: for the piece of equipment. How do I know the Engineering Revision for the Part that is linked to the Equipment?
