Compare pdf-files in document management

Hi all, We receive a lot files from our customers. CAD-files for use in the production and a corresponding pdf- file for printing. When it is a new revision of a file already in our system we would like to compare the pdf- files visual. Something AI that takes the new file, compare it with the old file and highlight the differences on the screen. E.g. a new hole has been added in the right corner. Anybody his any experience with this?

APB - Re-scheduling Orders

Hi guys, I’ve got a query about how to use APB. An example is apt here. Consider an MPS consisting of 2 items. Lets stipulate the structure for each is: Level 0 = end-item (GA), Level 1 = SA (x2), Level 2 = 4 piece parts & Level 3 = 10 piece parts. Let’s also imagine 0 overlap between recipes (thus no requisition to merge supply). The relevant ‘Priority Rule’ is ‘Earliest Possible Due Date’ (with all operations selected) since we’re looking to schedule both projects to finish asap, with no spare capacity gaps. 2 options arise at this stage. Either, schedule both project items (under the priority rule stated) in APB with a single executed run. Or, load the initial project (specifically, the parts therein) and execute the engine. Then, do the same for the next project, but exclude all operations that are released and started, thereby ignoring the orders under the first project. Note, a presumption is there’s no ‘MPS confusion’: insofar as the initial project is of greater priori

Streams help

Hello, I searched IFS online help for Streams - the titles exist for help topics but no text to be seen after clicking on subjects - and yes, I tried using different browsers besides IE. I’m looking for any information on streams. I’m relatively new to the company. They use streams for notifications of creation of customer orders. I found the event action that sends to the stream. Howver, I need to set up a new user to receive this stream. I’m looking for a how-to on Streams. Any advice appreciated. Thanks much!

Start Production for multiple users

Hello, I’m noticing an issue on Shop Floor workbench. Currently, we have a 1st and 2nd shift. Shop Orders may span multiple shifts and it appears that if an operator on a prior shift (1st) is clocked into Start Production, a 2nd shift employee cannot join that operation without creating a Team and joining that. Is this correct, or is there a way to allow individuals to Start Production on operations without having to use a Team? Thank you!

Crystal Web Services Error - fails to retrieve report

Hi all, I’ve created a new draft Purchase Order Crystal report - it pretty much got it’s design refreshed and re branded - all schema, data, report rules have been unchanged. I’ve given it different name to the original (added _v1 at the end). I’ve put it into correct folders on the server and I have also added new info in Report Definitions but yet I’m still getting typical error:Any ideas what else I’m missing? This is so far within test instance of IFS.

How to edit "Revision No" field

Hi,I have a question about creating new revisions, which is done to facilitate the change of a component from purchased to manufactured (and vice versa). The underlying aim is to find the cleanest way to ensure MRP calls for the correct part type (i.e. generating the desired requisition type).Current PracticeAt present, a new revision is created (ref. page, ‘Eng Revisions’ → column ‘Eng Rev’). Following that, phase out dates are inserted by the user (ref. ‘Inventory Part’ → tab ‘Revisions’) against all the preceding revisions (and the purchased and manufactured templates they encompass).Hence, when MRP runs, it’ll have no choice other than calling for the desired part type. Because all else is off the table, by inserting phase out dates.Suggestion/QuestionI believe we shouldn’t have to up-issue a part just to reflect it’s status change from purchased to manufactured (and vice versa). There are 2 relevant columns here - ‘Revision’ and ‘Revision No’. Can a user edit the field ‘Revision N

Activate Rowkey Aborting/Timing out

I’m trying to create some custom fields for the SalesContract LU. I understand that I have to activate the rowkey before I can publish the new fields. When I try to use the Direct option to activate the RowKey for the SalesContract LU, it aborts after 30 minutes. I put the debug on and it shows “java.sql.SQLTimeoutException: ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation. If I use the Background Job option, it gives me a popup application information message: “Request Aborted”, but the background job still appears in the list of jobs with a state of “executing”. I can’t stop/kill it without asking the DBA to get involved. There’s only 3 Sales Contracts in the instance. Why is the job taking so long and where do we adjust the timeout so it can run longer without stopping?

WaDaCo Camera Functionality

I was wondering if there’s an easy method to see which WaDaCo transactions allow you to set up the camera / photo attachment functionality? The “Camera Enabled” box is available in all configurations but I know it’s not actually usable in all of them so would be good to be able to know which ones have it and don’t without building and testing each different type of configuration.

I have an error when I trying to use Search Domain on IFS10.all items in Search domains Window have already Enabled checked.I think this problem is Oracle issue but I not sure. We often have cases where we need to duplicate a whole supplier profile and just change the supplier association number. This is done manually and very time consuming. Is there a way to duplicate a supplier Profile quicker?

Displaying signature within crystal reports

Hi, We are using third part app to capture the signature of truck driver and shipper . This signature gets attached to respective shipment via document management.We have connected both the signature with crystal report (bill of lading) but whenever we print the bill of lading crystal document , it shows black spot for both the signature. I checked database too and i found that images are storing as png and those images are also black. signature fields are dynamic data field and it changes as per the shipment Do you have any turn around solution where we can print the signature clearly on the document ?
