disable the 'detach' option in document managment

Users are attaching documents to Purchase Order headers and we have figure out how to control who can see the attachment and who can view an attachment. Our problem is, anyone who can see the attachment can ‘detach’ it from the purchase order. How can we disable the detach option from the right mouse button menu? thanks

Question about Mail Recipient as Link

When user is in Business Opportunity 120 and carries out RMB > Send To > Mail Recipient as Link The email created has the Subject Business Opportunity 120 - 120. Would it be possible to change this so that instead of the 2nd 120 (after the - ) the Description is used instead e.g. if Description = Supply Pipes the email subject would display: Business Opportunity 120 - Supply Pipes Thank you.

Mail Recipient opens Chrome window instead of mail message

For some of our users when they click Mail Recipient a Chrome explorer window opens instead of the Outlook New Message. Has anyone else had this and if so, how did your resolve this issue.Regards John

How can we use custom Database methods for Object Connection Transformations ?

Object Connection Transformation provides the means to support object connections to be accessed from business objects other than the ones to which they are connected. In order to do so we have to specify an object transformation method. For some scenarios it is not possible to map the target and source columns due to the fact that the source columns are not included in the target database view. Therefore how can we use custom Database methods for Object Connection Transformations ?

Document macros - check in, view, create new

Hi everyone,i have question about document management macros. I want connected word tempalte document to the row in application (for example row of audit) and after create new document, or after attach i want the data from application to be filled into a word file.I have some macros block from enviroment test TQA CMB. But macros are only functional when i do checkout file (edit) - then is data filled into file.I think that the macros for action create new, and check in doesn´t work. You dont have anyone sample macros for there actions please? I dont know employees who would be familiar with writing these macros.And another question is, it is possible to filled data from row to the fille at the action “VIEW” - do you know? I will be happy for any answer, thanks.

Crystal Quick Report Finance Permission Issue

HelloI would like to see, if there exist a solution to our issue and we are not aware of. Please let me know how you handle this kind of situation.While we are upgrading from IFS8 to IFS10 the report is good in IFS8,Report uses IAL that uses two IFS views IFSAPP.ledger_item_cu_qry & IFSAPP.outgoing_invoice_qry. In IFS10 both of these views are not granted to IFSSYS and we are not thinking of granting this access instead we will replace them with our own views… so in total we will create 3 or more new views to get this working.Is this the only workaround or is there any other better solution for such situation.

Can you make CF in Project Invoices in IFS 10 ?

Eco Footprint and substances

Is there some documentation or best practices available on Eco footprint and how to get started with this module?As we work with manufacturers and MPS’s connected to the parts (purchase parts) our feeling is that this data is not on the correct level, it should have been on the part - manufacturer level.Part nr stays the same but preferred manufacturer change overtime.Is there something available in IFS for importing material declarations to IFS (standard xml formats ex. IPC1752)

IFS Apps 8 Demand Plan Server - Create Forecast Overwriting Fixed Data

We have recently migrated our Demand Plan Server across to a new 2012 server from 2008 and are experiencing issues every Sunday when our scheduled Create Forecast job runs.When the job runs it is overwriting Forecast Values that should be fixed (having already been adjusted). The affected week rolls on each week on the Sunday but is consistently current week + 2, so at time of posting this in Week 46, the numbers affected fall within Week 48.This only appears to occur on a Sunday presumably as our periods are defined as weeks, Sunday - Saturday.Work around in place to rectify the invalid data and case raised with IFS.Just wondering if anyone else here has had similar issues and could share any knowledge or experience. Create a Single Transport Task from Inventory Part in Stock Screen

The Inventory Part in Stock Screen allows you to multi-select lines and the Move with Transport Task option is available. The box that pops-up has all the lines listed and you pick a single location. This however creates a Transport Task for each line. Has anyone else experienced this or have we ran into a bug? We are on IFS10 UPD8.

Multiple Shop Order Shortages

I am new to using IFS, I am looking for help on tracking shortages on shop orders. Can I highlight multiple shop orders using the Shop Orders session and see all of the shortages via planning actions (not sure if that’s the right term, I’m not logged in at the moment). I have customers and even myself, who want to see shortages out say 2 months, to see if everything is on order, are there going to be any parts that aren’t arriving in time etc etc. Do I use this session or is there another session or report to use? I can highlight a shop order and review material availability and see just shortages, but this is one shop order at a time.Any help would be greatly appreciated

Status change of a Work Assignments in IEE

Hi folks,Does anyone know if Rnd decided to remove the functionality that was available until IFS APP10 UPD7, that we could change assignment status of an employee after transfer to mobile before the user download it. After UPD8, It’s not possible any more. Could anyone help please? The situation of my customer is that it has some external employees that they do a work but don’t have license, therefore the planner needs to assign a task to them and report time using the status change of the assignment.They send to mobile because the have some users that have license.UPD 07 UPD08 and 09 - Not available anymoreTks a lot

IFS approval requestor

Hello, We currently use the IFS approvals feature, but one of the issues we are facing is that users have no way of knowing who requested their approval on a given item. Often times they may have a question about the approval and they have no way of knowing who actually generated the request.I’ve looked through the system, but I do not see any native function that will tell them who created the request. Is there any way to achieve this through a custom field or is there another way to obtain this info? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone else having an issue with Background jobs stuck with rebuilding Materialized Views? All other background jobs keep piling up in a waiting queue till I manually go and stop this background job. thanks, Steven
