Hi All, I’ve come across some unexpected behaviour when I over report on a shop order. I’m on Cloud R23R1. In my scenario, I do not know the exact qty for the shop order, so I capacity plan using a best estimate. If production goes well, there is a possibility I may need to over-report. I am receiving in the finished product 1 at a time and backflushing the material & auto reporting the operations. The material side works well, as I’ve ticked the “issue overreported Qty” on the components. On the operations, Over Reporting is set to “Allowed”. On the site settings I have Auto Close Shop Orders set to off. However if I have a Shop order for 10, as soon as I receive in the 10th part, while the Shop Order stays open, the operations on the Shop Order get automatically closed. When I receive in the 11th Part, the part is received & the additional material is issued, but no operation reports/transactions are created. Hello, I’m in IFS Cloud 23R1. I have a scenario where I am raising a Shop Order for 10 parts. The parts are serialized and are manufactured sequentially throughout the day. I would like to ensure an analysis result is recorded for each serial number before it can be receipted into inventory. However I also need to be able to receipt the parts in individually through the day as they are manufactured. I set “Analysis Required for Receipt” to yes, but then if I set Inspection Code to:100% Inspection - I can’t receipt them in individually as I can’t confirm the analysis result individually. Sample size =1 I can receipt in any of the parts as long as I have 1 analysis result registered.I wondered if I could use the “Mandatory Create Shop Order Analysis Result” in the Quality options settings, but can’t seem to get the behavior I need. Is there a standard combination of settings I can use to achieve my requirement?
I wondered if anyone knew of any functionality that would help the following scenario: I have a recipe structure made of components A, B & C. With a weight share (all UoM kg) of 40%, 30% & 30% respectively. Practical Process: “A” comes in from a supplier on a trailer and a delivery can vary in weight +/- 10%. The batch of finished good is created by weighing the delivered quantity of A and then auto dosing the quantity of B & C to match. Currently “A” is issued to the Shop Order then a calculation done outside of IFS to determine the finish good qty to receive. this is received and B & C are backflushed. Is there any functionality in IFS to do the receipt quantity based off the recipe structure and issued quantity of A? I.e. so we could remove the outside calculation?
Hello, I’m trying to understand the forecast consumption logic for a scenario where you have a Customer Order raised & delivered in between running MS Level 1 calculations. I ran a test and I’m not 100% sure I understand some of the system behavior. I set a part to have a forwards consumption of 10 days, backwards consumption of 0 days and ran MS Level 1 Calc with some existing data: I then created a new Customer Order for QTY 2 with a planned delivery date of 20/02/24, but then immediately released, picked & delivered it today (14/02/24). I then re-ran MS Level 1: I can see the on-hand has reduced from 13 to 11 - OKThe forecast value itself has reduced from 5 to 3 on 19/02/24 - I wasn’t expecting this...Why does the forecast number itself reduce rather than just showing as consumed?Why did this change the forecast data on the 19/02/24 and not the forecast data on 16/02/24? Hello,I would be really interested to hear thoughts on the following situation. I’ll use a ready meal process as an analogy.We have a process that creates a product (mash potato), from a blend of potato A (peeled potatoes) & potato B (skin on potatoes) . Both types of potato are bought in as raw material. This blend can be a range of 30%-70% potato A, but varies each time the process is run, as done by eye as exact ratio is not important. Over a year it balances out at ~50% which can be the assumption for costing. The mash potato is then immediately used in 10 different end products. E.g. 250g in 10 different types of ready meal.From a costing point of view, assuming the mash is 50% of each type is ok. However from a planning point of view, we need to work out the best way to handle & consume inventory of Potato A & Potato B, so we can trigger the reorder process. Hello, I’ve set up a calendar where I have a shift pattern like this:Shift 1: 10pm - 6amShift 2: 6am - 2pmShift 3: 2pm 10pmWhere I’m using the “Last Period Belongs to Next Day” flag as follows: Schedule looks like this: This works fine/as expected for capacity generation. However, I’ve tried to create a Period Template using this calendar (set as site manufacturing calendar) and I get an error message. I think this is because ‘Sunday’ does not exist in the calendar, because the working period belongs to Monday. However the period start date is Sunday, so this is what the system is trying to use to start each period. Is there any way to correct this? Or should I just create a new calendar that runs 12am-12am to use for the period template?
I have a question about the different calculations of the Shop Order Requisition start date depending on whether it is generated manually or through MS/MRP. From testing (Cloud) I have found the following: Manual SOR:Uses Fixed & Variable lead time set on the Inventory Part manufacturing tabIf this is 0, it uses Manufacturing Lead Time entered on Lead Time & Supply Dates section on Inventory Part main tab insteadIt doesn’t directly use the lead time data in the routing alternate revision MS/MRP:Uses lead time data in the routing alternate revision (if this has been calculated)If not calculated, uses Manufacturing Lead Time entered on Lead Time & Supply Dates section on Inventory Part main tabIgnores anything manually entered on Inventory Part manufacturing tab If I change the Due Date on an MS/MRP generate SOR, the start date changes based on the logic for the manual SOR. So even if I change it back to the original due date, I now get a different start date. Question:Is the
Hello, Is anyone able to explain what exactly enabling the “Run Integrated with CRP” option does when you perform Site MRP in Cloud? There seems to be conflicting info, which is confusing me. The field help description states: If this option is enabled, CRP backward scheduling logic will be used to schedule shop order requisitions generated from the process. As a result, the start dates of the requisitions/receipts generated will be more accurate. However, this thread explains that the MRP calculation will use the routing information to calculate the fixed & variable lead time to schedule the SOR start date. It will only use the manufacturing lead time value on the Inventory Part screen if the routing time is 0. So if this is the case, what does enabling the CRP option in MRP actually do? This thread explains it is not the same as running CRP separately, i.e. the data in the machine & labour load screens won’t update until CRP is run separately. I think what I’m looking for is
Hello, I’m trying to understand the functionality of MS Set 0. Supply Chain Planning>Master Scheduling>Master Schedule SetsI understand Set 1 is system generated and data here is used for MRP/CRP and also as a user I can create multiple user defined sets to use for forecasting, before copying over to Set 1. The field description tells me Set 1 is always “Current” and Set 0 is “Base”. However the help function only refers to MS Set1. Is anyone able to explain the purpose of MS Set 0 and what happens to the data in this set? Thanks!
